Deeper than first thoughts
A teenage boy has developed strong feelings of love for his home room teacher and on graduation day kisses him then shocked at his actions runs away. We learn he has no siblings and his parents aren't mentioned he appears to have had no one to help him understand and process his love for this older man. Taboos of being gay, person in authority and age gap has seared this information in his mind such that we meet him 10 years on and as the story unfolds we realise Minato Akira is still stuck in this young mindset.Katsuki Shintaro is a teenage boy who has strong feelings of love for this laundromat manager and we meet him as a 17 going on 18 year old who has decided he needs to declare his feelings. Katsuki Shintaro is a mature person who has been the adult for his younger siblings and he has a very straightforward clear way of thinking and acting.
The shows dynamics revolve around these differences.
Minato Akira cannot accept his feelings for the young man and tries to keep their relationship at a platonic level. Katsuki Shintaro is resolved to wear him down with many acts of kindness and caring. He is quite self sacrificing and ultimately it is a smart move to encourage Minato Akira to confess his unresolved feelings for his old teacher.
Both actors are attractive and have lovely chemistry. Minato Akira is suitably naïve and easily shocked, whilst Katsuki Shintaro seems wiser than his years with an 18 year olds clear eyed determination.
Lovely and touching to watch as this healing relationship helps Minato Akira finally accept.
I feel this has definitely rewatch value.

A BL which will always have a special place in your heart
If I'm being honest , I was waiting for this series to end so that I could bingewatch it in one go, but as usual social media is not a good place , and it irked my curiosity, so last week I decided to be like yessss, let's watch it , just one more episode left so I can wait.I didn't have a lot of expectations from it but they outdid what I had ❤️ Every part of it , the story line , the plot was A class. Their acting is top notch, they made us cringe , second hand embarassment, you would laugh like crazy with them , cry with them , get angry with them , the angst is enough that you want to go inside the screen and shake the person and be like what are you doing????? Can't you see that???? Or you would want to pat their heads for trying ? You just want to be there and have a place in that story .
You could feel Shin's emotions and also Akira's. Both of the characters are soooo relatable that you feel as if it's your story . Even the supporting roles added a lot of meaning to their story . This one week for episode 12 wait was a lot?? I wished it was longer , I wished they had more. But I won't complain . I loved what they did to the series , and to add more would be dragging it , but maybe we could have had a special episode of what happens now in their story ?
I won't add spoilers because I want you all to go through the emotions that I did. It is that fluffy angsty story which will always have a special place in your heart ❤️
Everybody wants a Shin in their life , but you've got to be an Akira , to have him ?❤️

Amaizing!
I watch this series while it was ongoing so I was a little impatient waiting for every episode. The series is really refreshing and cute. The fact that Shin (younger lead) is really bold in his feelings and the older guy is shy is really hilarious. Both actors portrayed their roles perfectly. The only think I didn't like is that the episodes were so short and that it took them so long to get together :(. But overall I love this series and I'm sure I'm gonna rewatch it <33333. (I forgot to add that the actors are really handsome :))Was this review helpful to you?
Beautifully Done
This was such a stunningly done BL. and is right up there with My Beautiful Man AND Kieta Hatsukoi for me.. the pacing was my major concern about the show but shin and minato have my heart... they had me all in my feels and the chemistry was off the chain.. my favorite character however was asuka... from his look to his vibe. everything about him drew me in and I really wish we see more of that actor as well in the future because he was really good. The finale was beautifully done and I'm happy he done not give up his future for a man cause he truly should be allowed to live his life an fulfil his goals. Was this review helpful to you?
I really liked but liking it wasn't enough :/
This was super sweet! The ending was cute and overall I really liked but liking it wasn't enough compared to other series based on mangas. I don't have much to say on this review as notihing truly stuck out to me except maybe the pool/beach scenes and the bold flirting but I can get that in many dramas. I wish there was more of Asuka and Shuu ( I personally love side couples and this one was really interesting, almost giving an Aromantic sort of vibe?). The ending kiss and opening was my fav absolutely adorable was just missing a bit more for it to stand out!!Was this review helpful to you?
a stupid little slow burn that did exactly what a stupid little slow burn should do
if you like slow burns/the classic japanese drama charm this is definitely for you !! this drama is so so precious, its something that will easily lift your mood and put a smile on your face.the story itself is pure and heart warming, the main characters relationship is full of moments of bliss, gentle touches and tender looks. for those that are worried about the age difference - nothing 'big' happens between them before the mc is of age, there is nothing creepy or weird about their relationship so please dont let that be a worry (it was for me and i was happily proven wrong) the main characters are understandable, easy to empathize with and very loveable. not to mention they are both BEAUTIFUL. the side characters are all gorgeous and likeable too !! i was very invested in this story and as i watched it whilst it was airing they made my week a lot brighter. i feel like it makes a lot of sense this was aired in japan as a television drama due to the way it was edited (in a very television show way)
the cast is so perfect. i knew of both the main leads already however this drama has made me develop a much deeper appericiation for their acting skills. in places where the dialouge/writing lacked their acting always made up for it (the writing was Not bad. it just lacked at a few parts but to balance it out there were times it exceeded expectations too). they both did well in scenes they had to show more emotion than you would usually see in characters and did their parts perfectly, they deserve a lot of attention as actors. (again theyre both sosooso gorgeous). their chemistry was so good it shocked me at times, theyre both so good at acting with their eyes and when they looked at eachother sometimes it was sohfjshj. very very good chemistry.
there wasn't a lottt of music used in the show from my memory but when it was it was used well plus the intro/outro songs were SOSOSOSOSOSOOOOOO good, bu thats usually the case witth jdramas.
conclusion/TLDR - GO WATCH IT !!! its such a cute and fun drama, smth that everyone needs to watch every now and then. its such a happy pill, with a pretty cast, v good actors and amazing chemistry(and the plot is nowhere near as problematic as you probably think pls give it a try). this deserves sm love !!! i will defnitely rewatch this often. im gonna miss this airing sm God pls go watch it

Tom and Jerry to another level
guys, let me start with how those series start good, got me excited then dissapoint me either halfway thro the show or in the end, did we need 12 eps? no, this could be great with 6-7 eps max.i enjoyed ep 1-ep4, then it started to drag from ep 5 to the end so i start to skip bits, a lot of scenes feel repetitive or filler scenes, and while im glad that Minato didnt immediately start dating Shin as he was underage, but the problem should be solved when he become legal right? the guy become legal while the other guy still playing hide and seek game, while in the first eps i felt he is adorable but later on it become really childish. i also question was he eventually going to accept Shin if his sensei didnt reject him/look disinterested to him? because it didnt seem like it, we can see he find Shin appealing physically since ep 1 but i feel that he doesnt really love him and that he just eventually gave up to him.
it was also annoying how it took forever before he was able to confront his sensei about the past, it took ages there..
while Shin was so pushy, usually i give a pass if its light, but he was kinda really pushy and it kept happening so frequently, he obviously is not the rapy type of person but a no is not enough to stop him, you need to end up pushing him for him to think "ok thats enough for today"
i mean should we give him a pass because he is young? just think of it, if the older guy was the one doing that everyone will be screaming about him taking advantage of a young boy, but since when its ok for young guys to be crossing the line like that?
im not talking about him wanting to court him but about him getting in his personal space, kissing his neck and feeling him up until Minato had to push him hard enough.. boy thats sexual harassment leaning so much to sexual assault as touching was involved, so..
of course im not saying all their moments are problematic ,there is a lot of sweet moments, i like how he take care of Minato when he is sick ,how he cook for him etc but this was dragged too much,i will give s2 a chance as well

Coming into oneself and finding love.
Overall thoughts; I love the comedy the show had to it. I loved the simplicity and warmth this series had to it. I was a bit uncomfortable with the age gap.1. What I liked?
I liked how the actors where able to bring this story alive. They delivered with the portraying of emotions.
I liked the realism of local people's life and the normalness this series gave us.
2. What I disliked?
I disliked the age gap of 12 year, but it's not the gap is the problem it's the age between Minato Akira and Katsuki Shintaro. They were 9 and 17 when they first met, and 29 and 17 when they happened to meet each other again for the secondth time.
I disliked the fact it's a love story between an older man and a high schooler. This was the main reason why I was a bit uncomfortable with this show.
3. Personality Observation.
Starting with Shintaro's personality. He has a dominant personality, he is naturally assertive, straightforward, confrontational, expressive, has a natural innocent, and is jealous at times. He was my favorite character out of everyone in the show.
While Minato Akira personality is shy, reserved, timid, cowardly, non-confrontational, and shy's away from speaking his mind or admitting the truth out loud to others. I think this is why he can't maintain a healthy relationship with anyone.
4. Where their chemistry between characters?
I would say Yes! but it was mostly one sided and slow to develop. But it is worth it.
5. Character development.
Minato Akira character was developed nicely in the story. I think because of the influence of Shintaro, he able to be honest with himself and others around him for the first time. He found the confidence within himself to confront and open up about his true feeling and thoughts he been holding in for the longest time. I truly enjoyed watching his progress.
End thoughts; I rated this series 8.5 because I enjoy it despite its uncomfortable flaws. I loved each of the main lead character individually and they progress as the show goes along. For that alone It is worth watching.

Way too dragged out.
Setting the uncomfortable age gap aside because of cultural differences, the show was good. The couple were cute and for the most part the chemistry between them was definitely there. The side couple were also cute and all the characters were very likeable. However I feel like the whole show could have been finished within way less than 12 episodes. Most of the scenes felt completely unnecessary to the point I found myself skipping large portions of the later episodes just so they'd get to the point. An issue would come up, they'd resolve it, and then for the next three episodes they'd just be dragging it on. It felt like I was going in circles. One minute an issue is settled, next minute they're arguing about it again. Honestly I got bored after the first 4 episodes and the ending wasn't exactly anything worth waiting for, without spoiling too much. Like I said, the show was good, but I can't give it a high rating when I had to skip 80% of the later episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
Funny, cute, simple, explained thoughts
When i first saw ads for this bl it didnt look all that interesting. I don't think the ads did this bl justice whatsoever. But i just now watched the first episode up until the current episode, episode 8, in less then half a day. Very cute and bright love, if you know what i mean. Yes its shows a range of emotions other then happiness, but its not dark and it doesn't have a gloomy or dark or mysterious backstory. Atleast what ive see so far. I personally really like when the characters are clear with each other what theyre feeling, or think out loud(basically saying what theyre feeling for the audience to understand). I cant read people or understand social situations, so i appreciate thoughts and feelings being explained withiut being obnoxious. This is how the characters are. Very simple, nice, funny love. 10/10. I wil definitely rewatch this series once it ends. Was this review helpful to you?

A little scary at first but it was lovely
Ok, this could have been a lot worse. First of all, I'm glad to be able to say that there is no crime of any kind in the series, but still, it's very uncomfortable to see the normalization of young people dating much older people, let alone teachers.
In general, I liked it. I thought it was cool that Akira didn't try to take advantage of Katsuki and that he waited for Shin to finish high school. I thought it was cool that Shuu-Kun was a good example (quite in the restricted area) of someone aro.
I found the development of the facts well done, the evolution of the relationship between Shin and Akira was gradual and satisfactory.
The ending was cute and convincing.
Shin is definitely cute, I think the representation of a teenager full of dreams and desires was impeccable. Even in those moments when I wanted to get on the screen and scream "stop, please, he's going to have a heart attack!!!".
Hanabusa was my favorite character just because he's such an adorable, tiny dumpling.
I loved Shin's sister a lot too.
I even liked Akira's past dramas.
Well, to conclude, I liked it, but I hope I don't go through that again. I really don't like the "age gap" when some part is under twenty. That's it, I don't think I would be happy without being able to evaluate it, bye :)
