GREAT SHOW but 1 small issue :/
to start off lemme just say that i'm a huge fan of both chen heyi and ni kexin and this show was really amazing! but i feel that it didn't flow as good as it could have. the plot was great, i enjoyed watching the show but the transitions into each next major event could've been more thought out and detailed in my opinion... with that being said i definitely DO recommend this show despite that one issue i had with it, its a great youth drama and has a more different/unique story than most shows, the music was great, the cast are all so talented and the shots are especially beautiful. 9/10 <3Was this review helpful to you?
This film's Oar team screwed up big time
This is shady and tacky:A Dutch influencer was left speechless when she discovered that a Chinese drama used a picture of her and her boyfriend that had her face replaced with the show’s lead actress’ face.
A Dutch influencer found a picture of her and her boyfriend in a Chinese drama with her face edited out and replaced by the show’s lead actress. Her TikTok video about the situation went viral, and the show’s production crew later sent her an apology.

A sweet teenage story that I like the most! I was expecting S2.
if you like sweet, light, and funny teenage love stories, but have conflicts that are quite related to the real world and quite meaningful. You must watch this!I like how they describe each character. The handsome and calm Li Nanyi, with quite a complicated family and he who can make money at a young age. Tong Xi is a belerina who was forced by her mother to go on an excessive diet, a feisty and tomboyish girl. Ni Xiao Wan is a girl from a pathetic poor family, she who doesn't want to look poor and always lies about herself.
I think there are many messages that can be taken from the story. The chemistry between the main leads is also cute, but I'm crazy because I like Xiao Wan more than Tongxi, I just can't hate her because she has a lot of problems in her family, I cried when her secret was exposed, I also get annoyed whenever the mother takes her sister's side, even though she is a high school girl who needs attention too.
the way the director shows each scene is also beautiful, very soothing to my eyes. somehow when watching this I feel peaceful. i really recommend this!!
I watched this because I really like CHY, he's a great rookie actor, his acting is mesmerizing. I think he could have taken more leading roles, because he can play different roles. uh, CHY I wish you success!
I really really recommend this sweet drama, indeed there are no kissing scenes because they are still teenagers and I think that's normal. In my opinion, compared to love, this story looks like a teenager with a lot of problems like most teenagers. there are also many messages that we can take, i love itttt! the ost is so sweet it makes me touched.
this is awesome!

..and I don't even like H.S. dramas
Short and sweet review. Great characters without a ton of overdramatic antagonistic plot points. You get the power of friendship, love and communication. The LEADS are both so charming & charismatic I don't know how you can not keep going after episode 1. I don't really like HS dramas bc I loooooove Romance. But this drama, gave us that in how they were when they're together, it was enough for me just seeing them have deep conversations or smile at each other. This is def a fave of 2021 for me!Was this review helpful to you?

A very well done, nicely executed, thoughtful and heartfelt youth drama. I absolutely loved it! There's a sweetness and pureness about this drama, from the music to the cinematography, that really drew me in. I adored the leads and the side characters... they all brought to life the essence of youth and friendship. This is a youth drama, so the romance was subtle, but I have to say that the leads were adorable. Although they mainly communicated through their eyes and smiles, there was no doubt how they felt about one another. ML was handsome and charming and FL with her beautiful smile, I felt like I could watch endless scenes of the two of them. They didn’t hesitate to say they would always be there for one another and ML’s complete devotion (and smile) was swoon worthy. l loved how situations were handled in this drama and misunderstandings were cleared up quickly. I never wanted to hit my head because of some ridiculous overreaction or sacrificial move made by one of the leads! The plot moved along and never felt draggy... I was sad when I knew the end was near.
This drama was refreshing and left me believing that somewhere there is a little town near the sea, where a group of friends grew up together and stayed forever bonded. (I may just go buy a Mint plant after this! lol).

It's 95% about high school and 5% romance
I am not saying it's a bad drama but the preview and synopsis gives us an idea of it being a romance drama. WARNING: no kissing scenes. so you can see it with your parents. Its motivational and simple with no bad character ( even the second lead female who i wanted to slap in the beginning had a pitiful side and emotional ride of her own)
Like for the first time female lead was more famous than the male lead. and he is just a sweet heart. even the girl is not your normal clumsy and stupid.

It's Quite Standard but Still Delightful
When put into a pile with other romantic youth dramas, Summer Again fails to stand out. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it is bad whatsoever. It utilizes the same formula as other youth dramas, so it manages to capture what a youth drama is supposed to be well. The stunning coastal location of the drama also made it quite peaceful to watch. Thus, after shedding tears for another drama, Summer Again provided just enough comfort for me.This drama addresses the same themes that are addressed in other youth dramas. For example, discovering and becoming one's true self. That theme was handled well in this drama, and I found myself relating to our female protagonist, Tong Xi. And, to be honest, I'm sure many of us, if not all of us, have tried to act in accordance with the character we wish to project. In this case, Tong Xi attempts to create the image of a beautiful, well-spoken, goddess-like student. This is in stark contrast to the outspoken and tough personality she attempts to disguise. Tong Xi's fangirling is undoubtedly the most relatable aspect. I fell in love with Tong Xi thanks to Ni Ke Xin's charming depiction.
There are also themes of family, forgiveness, and acceptance. The families of Tong X, Lin Nan Yi, and Ni Xiao Wan exemplify this. They all have very different family circumstances, but it's nothing we haven't seen before. They addressed it in the same manner that previous dramas have. It's nothing extraordinary, but it gets the message across.
The romance in this story is quite subtle. If you haven't already noticed, it's heavy on the childhood friends trope. So, if you're not a fan, I'd steer clear. However, I didn't mind it here much. I enjoyed how they handled the friendship-to-love narrative. The leads' companionship is endearing and comforting. The leads' chemistry was great as well. Also, Tong Xi overshadowed Lin Nan Yi, in my opinion. The other pair is also adorable. Again, this is a subtle romance, or hardly none at all until the end. They are another friends-to-lovers. All of the main actors are newcomers, but they provided a solid performance. Some supporting actors were substandard, though.
In essence, Summer Again is a standard youth drama featuring lovely seaside scenery. It's the kind of drama you would go into without many expectations, except the assurance that it will bring comfort. Although it's a pretty standard drama, I enjoyed it quite a bit so I definitely recommend it.

High School Feels
If you want something light, this one's for you. High school students can definitely relate to this drama and adults can definitely reminiscence while watching this drama. It's the perfect series to kill time but if you are in the mood for a series that will keep you looking forward to the plot, this one is not for you.The plot was simple and light. There was some conflict but not too much to be considered heavy. To be honest, nothing was really special since it was almost the same as the other stories but it still is cute and lovely in its own way. The whole show screams YOUTH. So, if you want to go back or enjoy the feeling of being youthful, add this to your list for that mood.

Feel good
If you are looking for something cute/fluffy then this is exactly it. This drama deals with a lot of things we come across when in high school. It covers multiple tropes beautifully. The chemistry between the leads were commendable and the overall cast did a great job in portraying their characters. Also the writer has done an amazing job.Warning the story may appear cliche but it was nevertheless a good watch. I normally don't like rewatching but this has a potential to become a comfort drama for me.

Heartwarming, sweet, adorable and youthful romance
Did not have any high expectation when I first read the summary of this drama. I’m glad I gave it a try and it’s a really nice drama. Lighthearted and enjoyable to watch. 99% smiles 1% of mixed feelings.First of all I would like to give props to the main leads. I think they both are new actor and actresses but their acting isn’t bad and is better than anticipated. Though there is room for improvement but I feel that it’s already great and they have potential. I look forward if they have upcoming new dramas.
Supporting cast are great especially Tao Zi and Yi Ming. Tao Zi acts amaze me during the “Tin” stage performance. She can really act well and I’m surprise to know that she is only 15! Yi Ming role is a total comedian and I like his exaggerated acting LOL.
Overall there isn’t anyone that is too “toxic” and they eventually all become friends and learn to let go, forgive and love themselves the right way.
It’s a refreshing drama with a ML that likes the FL right from the start. ML is a nice gentlemen and knows how to treat the FL right right from the start. FL learns and grow into a better version of herself through the ML whom is always there for her be it happy or sad. I love the romance between them, and I must say it’s a very youthful romance so don’t expect anything too mature. REMEMBER they are just students that below 18.
Conclusion: enjoyable value 10/10 I won’t give anything less than 10 for enjoyment value. As for the story, my interest level is always kept above 8/10 for wanting to watch the next episode right away. Each episode is only 30mins so it’s easy to watch and you won’t feel overloaded.
highly recommend this show, and if you are like me hesitating to watch? Then must definitely watch it. Give it an episode or 2 and you will fall in love. If not just drop it. 2 episode is only 1 hour anyway.

Childhood friends meet again !
This drama had a lot of potential! but i didnt feel it met it nor did it fail it... Kinda in the middle of me. It's super cute because of the leads as kids and getting together and spending time together. However I wasnt as fond when they are in high school together.Female lead moves back to her own hometown due to her mother's work. There she meets her childhood friend the male lead. However their initially meeting up isnt happy due to the misunderstanding of when they were young. Female lead moved to the big city with her mom and the male lead wasnt there to say goodbye. She wrote him letters but he never wrote back.
The female lead goes back to her hometown school and everyone thinks she is goddess, so she has to fake it out but reality she is a boss!! The flashbacks of when she is younger is way too cute! She become friends with Tao Zhu. The male lead is in the same class as female lead. He also turns out to be the manga/anime artist that she really likes. His true identity is a secret.
There is the class monitor who is jealous of the friendship the leads have together and she does things to interfere.
Female lead finally figures out their misunderstanding! Whats cute is that the male lead is an manga artist and drew about her and his relationship. They both have mint plants and the flower language means to meet again ! They even made a necklace out of the mint leave.
The ost are really cute and sweet.
One slight downfall was there wasnt any kissing. Their relationship is very sweet, pure and cute! I mean they are portraying high school characters , so i guess they gotta keep in PG haha. I would love to see a season 2.
Cant get over how cute the younger versions of themselves were!
