Saturation on 100% but terrible plots, writing and acting = waste of time

I had low expectations for this and I mainly watched for the female lead. I like the colors, some sets, theme song and some outfits but the terrible writing and nonsense plots (especially the side plots) are horrendous and absolutely ruin anything worth saving in this. The acting is meh (though this is partially because of the bad writing) and some of the sets and outfits look cheap close up and the CG is painful. I'm going to finish this but I have zero hope this gets better which is sad.

Too many contradictions in behavior

Couldn’t stand the constant consideration given to the worst and main culprit, by her peers and victims family and confidants, the characters Fu Ling and Chong Zhao talked about everyone’s else’s loyalty or lack there of, and the constantly saved each other or allowed or helped one another to escape, while lying to the people they were supposed to be loyal to as to why they helped each other. Then the people after Fuling talked too much and continued to allow her escape or be saved too ridiculous. I started watching this because of Bai Lu and ru peng but the bad script and acting of the 2nd leads was just too much. Dropped this series at the 18 th episode. Looking forward to something else by the 2 leads in the future.

So Magical ! Overall Perfect

I'm so obsessed with Moonlight Mystique. I love storyline and plot. Most important thing in this drama is each character has own story. This kind of story is hard to find. All supporting roles have their own life. Casts are all FINE !!! Still need CGI but Can still be accepted. Plot good, storytelling good , acting good, Visuals PERFECT! The plot twists are beautiful. The stories are beautifully connected to each other. It's worth recommending to watch .

I am disappointed by how the story is told because of bad script.

I’m a fan of Bai Lu and Ao Rui Peng and I’ve been highly anticipated and waiting for this drama since casting. Because of trailers, I had high expectations for this.
But i have to admit that it’s not worth the wait sadly.
Both actors are great. Ao Rui Peng is a little bit off from character at first but he did great in later episodes. Bai Lu is awesome as usual and all supporting characters are also great.
The problem lies in script. Although it’s fact pacing, the comedy lines and scenes the writer putting are awkward. The chemistry between the leads off screen is good normally but because of script, it feel forced on screen. Also there’s so much background music even tho some scenes are not needed it. The story looks like forced to go on.
The directing is second problem. As for xianxia drama, it’s bad.
No memorable scenes, no climax scenes, no captivating writing (story) and it became boring to watch.
As a fan of both lead actors, it’s so sad to see the drama boring and flat (at least for me) even tho it’s S+ production.

Masterpiece

It is worth watching this drama. My favorite actress is Bai Lu. Her dramas are primarily good. The series is becoming more interesting and addictive. The story of Kunning Palace is attractive and reasonable. Bai Lu always plays her role well alongside the male lead. The character of the male lead is straightforward. He expresses his love and kindness directly, compared to the male lead in the story of Kunning Palace. The male lead and female lead each have their sadness. I feel happy that the female and male lead cooperate and love each other.

Moonlight Mystique ?

I really like this drama, a very good drama both in terms of plot, cgi and even the chemistry of the actors is beyond doubt. Even the OST is very good and touching. And I definitely hope this drama will be a big success even internationally.

Amazing drama, it's actually a piece of art for me.

Something about this series is that each character has their own story and each character has a meaningful message that the creators of this series want to convey to the viewer, and this kind of depth is hard to find. The story is incredibly interesting, and even the supporting roles seem to have their own lives, I love that each episode is better than the one before it, each episode reveals a new mystery and secret and tells the story of a specific character. I am someone who, when I watch series, always looks for the scenario that carries a deep meaning and motivates the viewer and tries to convey a message that you find you need (I am talking about this because I found lines that have a deep and beautiful meaning that I needed in a difficult period, this drama came at the right time)

The cast is absolutely amazing, hats off to all of them! Can we talk about the soundtrack, it is amazing. Sa Dingding nailed it! It is almost perfect. Zhou shen , I also loved his voice, his voice has always been beautiful, soft, deep and sweet. In this drama i can never skip the intro and this is rare for me.

the CGI is so so pretty and a magic work . The plot, storytelling, acting, and visual effects are all perfect! The plot twists are beautiful, the stories connect beautifully with each other, and the progression and character development in this drama is not slow but smooth and precise.

I recommend it to everyone even if you are not a huge fan of fantasy drama but this is a must watch drama.

The best start of 2025

I really love this drama at every point its perfect. I honestlly think that this drama is Ao Ruipeng's best look, the ost, the cinematography are just perfect. As 18 episodes are out for now every single one was a masterpiece, no boring ones. I love the character development of Fan Yue, the way he's showing his feelings is really extraordinary. I really hope it will have a happy ending or I will cry for real. Really good start of 2025, as soon as I am back from school the first thing I do is watch a new episode. This drama is definetely worth watching.

One of the best xianxa drama that I've watch

Rating: 10/10**

"Moonlight Mystique" is an enchanting blend of fantasy, romance, and mystery that captivates the audience from start to finish. This series effortlessly weaves together an intricate plot, breathtaking visuals, and unforgettable characters, making it an instant classic in the realm of fantasy storytelling.

The narrative follows a mesmerizing journey through moonlit realms where magic, secrets, and destiny collide. The story is rich with twists, revealing the delicate balance between light and darkness. Every moment is filled with suspense, romance, and a touch of otherworldly allure that keeps you on edge.

The characters are where "Moonlight Mystique" truly shines. The protagonists are multi-dimensional, with their flaws and strengths making them relatable and compelling. The chemistry between the leads is electrifying, their love story a mix of passion, heartbreak, and redemption. The supporting cast adds depth and humor, making the world feel alive and dynamic.

Visually, this series is a masterpiece. The moonlit landscapes, ethereal costumes, and intricate set designs create a magical atmosphere that feels both otherworldly and grounded. The special effects are seamless, adding to the story without overwhelming it.

The soundtrack deserves special mention, as it perfectly complements the mood, with haunting melodies and powerful orchestral pieces that elevate every scene.

What sets "Moonlight Mystique" apart is its emotional depth. It explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the struggle to overcome inner demons, resonating deeply with viewers. The pacing is flawless, and every episode leaves you craving more.

Definitely one of my Favorite BaiLu drama

Not the best but enjoyable

Among the dramas currently airing in early 2025, this is the only one I’m still watching. There’s nothing particularly new or spectacular about this drama, but at least it’s not boring. The story follows the typical xianxia format: tragic pasts for the leads, a quest for revenge, a willingness to die for each other, the death of a beloved one, unexpected superpowers, etc. Despite its predictability, it’s still enjoyable if you’re looking for something to watch leisurely.

As for the acting of the main leads, Bailu is decent, as usual, but Ao Rui Peng doesn’t quite have the vibe of a “Demon King.” He doesn’t look intimidating or exude the aura of a king. To me, he doesn’t even seem particularly powerful. While he’s doing fine in other areas, I still feel something is missing in his performance.

The side stories are quite interesting as well. Up until the episodes I’ve watched, the tragic love between Rong Xian and Ling Long has been the most memorable. Some shots and filters used are questionable, but they don’t significantly affect the overall drama. After all, it’s a fantasy drama, so it’s best to shut off your logic and just enjoy it.

I love everything about Moonlight Mystique

Moonlight Mystique, a captivating Chinese drama, has been weaving a spell of enchantment over audiences with its intricate blend of romance, wuxia, fantasy, and melodrama. Set against the backdrop of ancient China, this mesmerizing tale transports viewers to a realm of mystique and wonder.

At the heart of the narrative lies a strong-willed and determined female protagonist, whose unwavering drive and unshakeable ambition inspire admiration and awe. As she navigates the complexities of her world, her resilience and fortitude are continually tested, yet she remains steadfast in her pursuit of justice and righteousness.

The drama's central plot is masterfully intertwined with an array of intriguing subplots, each imbuing the story with added depth and dimension. As the tale unfolds, a rich tapestry of characters is revealed, each with their own distinct personalities, motivations, and backstories.

One of the most compelling aspects of Moonlight Mystique is the palpable chemistry between the lead actors. Their on-screen interactions are infused with a sense of authenticity and sincerity, making their characters' relationships all the more believable and immersive.

Bai Lu's exceptional portrayal of the female lead is particularly noteworthy, as she brings a captivating blend of vulnerability, intelligence, and determination to the role. Her character's growth and development throughout the series are truly compelling, and her interactions with the male lead are fraught with tension, emotion, and passion.

The drama's thematic explorations are equally impressive, delving into complex issues such as power dynamics, loyalty, honor, and the human condition. Through its thought-provoking narrative, Moonlight Mystique invites viewers to ponder the intricacies of the human experience and the consequences of our actions.

Visually, the drama is a stunning masterpiece, with breathtaking cinematography, exquisite costumes, and meticulous production design. Each frame is imbued with a sense of beauty, wonder, and enchantment, drawing the viewer into the world of the story.

In conclusion, Moonlight Mystique is a Chinese drama that has captivated audiences with its rich narrative, compelling characters, and stunning visuals. With its intricate blend of romance, wuxia, fantasy, and melodrama, this series is sure to enthral viewers and leave a lasting impression long after the credits roll.

The acting is so over the top and stiff that it feels like the cast is reading from a script instead of bringing their characters to life. The cinematography is no better every shot is either too dark or too bright, with no sense of artistic direction, making it feel more like a soap opera than a grand historical epic. The CGI is laughably bad I’ve seen more convincing special effects in a 90s video game. And don't even get me started on the casting it's painfully obvious that the actors are way too old for their roles, which completely ruins the believability of the story. Instead of feeling immersed in a historical world, it’s like watching a group of middle-aged people trying to play pretend. This drama fails on every level. Well i don't know if it will be good in the future episode i will still continue to watch this though this was just my opinion no offense to anyone.
