Dangerous Romance or Dangerous Romcom?
Not only will you be getting some stellar acting which is not a surprise because Chimon and Perth have shown us time and time again that they mean business when they act but you’ll also laugh your ass off. It’s been a minute since I’ve watched a new drama and genuinely laughed out loud.I really want to praise this drama for giving us these little comedic reliefs in such a heavy topic drama that focuses on a lot of unfortunate realities for many people in this world. In all seriousness its not only visually appealing with the cinematography but the acting and soundtrack slaps. Watch it!!!!

One of my favorite bls of 2023
I don’t nnow if it’s because I watched it once a week as the episodes came out, but I really enjoyed this series. The plot was kind of interesting and a bit different in some ways of what we’ve seen before, not too cliche in my opinion. The mls also had great chemistry and they are really cute together. I also LOVED the side couple. The development of their relationship was absolutely adorable and their chemistry was off the roof (dare I say better than the mls🤭) in my opinion. I definitely recommend watching it!Was this review helpful to you?

I ended up loving this…
so I normally don’t write reviews… but I feel compelled to here. I actually watched this twice. the first time, I’d let all the hate this series got impact my thoughts on the overall show. but I found myself grabbing for it again recently and did a rewatch.here is the thing, we already know we’re going to get some of the same stuff we do in other Thai BLs set in a school setting. let’s just move past that and tak about what this series did different that made it a solid show for me.
first, I don’t think they should have played up the bullying aspect because at its core this isn’t a bully series. and I think that’s where all the hate comes from. it was portrayed as a bully turned to lovers show, but in reality, that really wasn’t it.
we have a kid (Kang)desperate to be seen and accepted for who he is especially by his father. so he acts out.
and we have another kid (sailom) who is trying his best to deal with really shitty hands dealt to him and trying to find the good if at all possible.
actually when you pull back and think of it, they are both trying to deal with the shitty cards laid out for them. albeit one of them is way more privileged than the other.
when you take away the bully stuff you get two kids who want to be loved and who love with their whole heart. take Sailom after seeing Kang put the lock on Pim’s lock, despite his feelings he tried to help Kang be with Pim. he put aside his feelings so Kang could potentially find happiness since at this point it was clear Sailom could see Kang felt unloved and unseen so he tries to help. actually the whole show he tries to help encourage Kang.
the whole father thing and Sailom’s brother I thought was really interesting and really changed the dynamics of the show. we end up seeing Sailom isolate himself since he now truly believes he has no one in the world but himself.
was the chemistry messy at times? yeah. did I have to remind myself this was a new pairing and I can’t compare to Perths old pairing? yeah. did it have new elements you don’t seen in a lot of Thai BLs? yeah, in my opinion it did. did it also have a lot of the same old stuff? yeah to a point.
either way I think my rewatch was a lot better than my first go around since I’d let so many comments on this series sway what I thought.
I liked it. It wasn’t the same cookie cutter university thai BLs we normally get.
I’d say at least give it a chance to episode 4/5 and the decide if you want to keep going.

without wind how could a windmill spin
Oh, what an incredible journey it has been with KanghanSailom, portrayed by the talented Perth and Chimon. Dangerous Romance (or better yet, Heart in the Wind) touched the depths of our hearts with its beautiful storytelling and their mesmerizing performances. Kanghan, like a steadfast windmill, brought stability and strength to Sai, while Sailom, as gentle as the wind itself, brought love and purpose to Kang. Their on-screen chemistry was electric, making us believe in the power of true connection. It's not all perfect, there are a lot of plot holes and rushed things, but that's not the actors fault and they were still able to make this unforgettable. Was this review helpful to you?

SAVAGE LOVE
It's a merry rainbow year, this is just another story that is out of this world, after nearly a year ever since we got to see Perth on screen again, considering the fact that I had enjoyed his performance in Love By Chance and Reminder the Series, my expectations for this were really high, and thanks to the teaser and the official trailer, I couldn't help but feel more eager to receive the show which is outstanding in the following waysDangerous Romance explores a trope that I felt was quite common that is to say from enemies to lovers and then eventually the me falling in love with my tutor part which seems to have started becoming a trend since WHY R U and I WILL KNOCK YOU which series scored quite a remarkable success, this practically meant that the drama's challenge was creating something new in this trope and in deed, I could feel that spark.
This is a heartfelt drama that portrays the inner demons, regrets, frustrations and even obsessions of the characters which is something so far from a sweet fairy tale romance that quite a number of us were used to, I guess what I mean is that there is a way the characters find sweetness in their tragic scenes which is far from a world of butterflies and rainbows that we have been used to in the past.
Secondly, this is one drama that will get you hooked for not only the story but also the dialogues and I would like to give my reasons, what makes series quite interesting for most people is the drama and cool plotline but many remarkable love stories tend to drift away when it comes to the messages delivered in their words and Dangerous Romance is unlike those many.
Every sentence is designed in a way that it speaks to me which I like but on top of that, the words, facial expressions and moods carry with them an intense weight of emotions which are heartfelt and very deep.
Thirdly, this is a story that to me is a true testament of high school, we have explored all the good stuff of high school in BL dramas but we'd never come across a series that narrates the darkest and most sombre moments of it, the sorrows and heartbreaks and above all, the challenges posed because of our inadequacies and yet for some reason this drama has made the best effort to paint that reality and bring it to life.
Eventually, this is a dangerous romance after all, the true forbidden love that challenges norms and beliefs, goes the extra mile to evolve as it weathers the true pressures of youth, perfectly modelled from the intense chemistry of the main leads, the fact that it keeps on revolving around them makes it a good drama worth my time that I can say, I haven't been disappointed so far and I can still hope for it to get better.

Sometimes toxic, sometimes fluffy
Sailom was a perfect character and his sarcasm made me laugh but then his humor faded away when the person he trusted the most left him.Don't get me wrong, I liked how it developed between Kang and Sailom but the bullying at the start was too brutal and it changed somehow too quickly. Then when they became couple, it looked great. Their trip was seriously touching and I loved their love scene but when they returned, it went downhill. Even though Saifah confessed he did it, Kanghan had no right to throw the blame at Sailom as well! Sailom did nothing wrong but Kanghan treated him like a murdered and someone who'd do anything for money!
Sailom went through hell... his boyfriend ditched him and he had no money when his brother got locked up. I expected Kanghan would help him in this kind of situation but when he showed up to save Sailom from the r*pist, instead of calming him down, he started shouting at him, poured water at him to wake him up and even sexually assaulted him just because Sailom tried to get money this way... Sailom had serious breakdown in the bathroom and Kanghan was one of the causes but comforted Sailom and looked like his hero again... I'd expect a very big apology or Sailom being angry at him but no, he was taking all of Kanghan's accusations and insults... then when Kanghan learns the truth, it's like nothing happened. Like he didn't do anything bad to Sailom and Sailom ignores it too... I seriously loved it till ep 9 but the end disappointed me.

I really loved it
I don't know why many didn't like the story. I think it's so cute and I really loved the Actors. It reminded me of a Wattpad story so they had me pretty fast with the bully-to-lover part. I see why people say Bromance but I don't get why it's a problem i would love my Boyfriend to be my friend and my lover and they did a great job beeing both. I love it and it is one of my favs. I cried, I laughed so everything I needed. I also really loved Sailom, he was my highlight of the Show. I really felt his pain and everything he was going through. I will definitely watch it again! Was this review helpful to you?

Overall good, would reccomend despite some elements being a little off
The plot was not boring, the execution was quite good and the story wasn't static, which is what made me look forward to the next episode everytime.First of all I want to mention some things I appreciated. Aside from the non-boring plot, I think that the characters were overall well-built, I especially appreciated the contrast between Sailom being a mentally strong individual, opposed to the lost nature of Kanghan.
I would like to mention some of the "negative" things I personally put thought onto. First of all, the CGI because well... the gunshot, but let's leave that aside. There were some instances in which I was left slightly confused, such as Kanghan being hospitalized for a minor graze gunshot wound, and 5 minutes later hugging his father with no physical impediment, but these are minor things.
The "biggest" issue I had was with the fact that I felt a little off about the actual romance. As I do understand that people express care and love in different ways (plus considering we are dealing with teenagers), I still felt like Sailom and Kanghan sometimes didn't completely look like "couple", it's as if I couldn't grasp what the main focus of the series was, as nothing was at the center, we did get a good plot, character developement and a zoom on Sailom and Kanghan's relationship, but I feel like something was missing. Even if there were many instances where I could tell how much Sailom cared about Kanghan, in other contexts (especially when they had to convey the attraction) it just didn't hit right, to be honest I somehow felt like Chimon didn't really do his best on intimate scenes, his kisses were cute but didn't look passionate at all, which in some context would have been more appropriate (this might not be such a big deal for many, but to me it kind of takes something off that realism and relatability I expect to see in such a relationship). Despite this, by thinking more deeply about the nature and development of the characters I guess I can justify some behaviours, although, for example, I still can't comprehend Sailom's reaction to what happened to him starting from his brother's arrest, I know Sailom has a very strong and collected nature, but I feel like it looked a little bit too collected (even if, fortunately, later we got to see him breaking down in the shower, which made it make more sense), he didn't look to lost even when he was alone, I appreciate him being strong and determined to pull through, but I still think they could have conveyed his feeling slightly differently (but this is more like a personal thing, I still think it makes sense the way it is).
To add on, I think that the choice of putting the role-play scene as a post-credit scene was perfect, it left me with a light heart and happiness about the series, while also fulfilling the need of them being closer.
I absolutely need to mention that I got somehow more excited about the side couple, plus I feel like the kiss that Guy and Nawa had was the best one of the series, I personally found it the most beautiful, it made me incredibly happy as it was sweet and passionate (which is the thing that I found lacking in Sailom and Kanghan's), the tension they've been having for 12 episodes finally collided in such a sweet moment, in which I realized that they did perfectly understand eachother.
At the end of the day I am quite satisfied and would defenetly rewatch it. Overall it was very good and I would defenetly reccomend it.

Ignore the hate
If you’re looking for a MAME style dangerous romance then this isn’t that but what it is a wonderful HS love story with superb characterisation. Much like MSP, everyone in this feels teen and has appropriately teen reactions to different events which is what I think you should keep in mind.Kang & Sailom are complex and well written but they are teens and as such they do have some very teen reactions and approaches to certain events.
If you’re looking for something with good swoony moments and consistent characters then you really can’t beat this.

Pretty Good
Wow, there were a lot of negative comments on this. I was hesitant to watch but I found it to be pretty good.Perth is such a great “bad boy” actor. Ever since Love By Chance he has seemed different to me... like he really was heartbroken. But he’s a great actor.
Was introduced to Chimon in Blacklist which he did a great job. Totally different from his role here. So versatile and talented.
I loved the whole bully’s life being turned around theme. All it took was someone to care. Also loved how his father finally changed as well.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed in Perth and Chimon’s kiss scenes. I’ve seen reviews blaming it all on Chimon but there wasn’t any chemistry coming from either one of them. Do not like closed mouth kisses! Maybe they are not experienced enough or just too good of friends. But loved their friendship scenes and the clowning around.
The other couples were enjoyable and I loved the drama with his brother. Can’t believe some reviews say this drama was boring. it wasn’t! But to each his own.

Has he been limited to BLs because of he has been side characters in them before? I always worry. I just can't imagine trying to act a sexuality that's not your own. Ok, actually I can all to well given that's what I do every day of my life. It fricked me up. And to have to do that for the world at large? It isn't the same because you can go back to your straight life, but the shadow will always be there. I'm sure stranges on the street will stop them and ask, and they'll always be wondering if that's something the person across from them is judging them for.
Summary: I have never seen a couple with less chemistry in my entire life. but not in a bad acting kind of way (there are all too many of those). It was just two straight guys that couldn't reach that far into their psychy nor escape the world we live in that tells us that gayness is weird and wrong. I 100% can't do it.
Anways, the chemistry was so lacking, awkward, and embarrassing that I can't even watch them attempt anything more intimate. Hence stopping at ep 7. Reading theough peopel's comments and seeing that they had to do the most intimate types of scenes makes me shudder to think of it. And it seems like I wasn't the only one,
And still, Chimon's smirk. CHimon's half smile. We love to see it.
