Tropey but with some modern tweaks turned up a good series
Is this series tropey? Absolutely. Is it bad? Absolutely not. It's actually adorable tbh. Let's break it down:
THE GOOD:
- The MC's are likeable and dorky with good humor and the ML actors have great chemistry and they vibed really well in their dorky, awkward, tropey roles.
- The tropes are easily bareable, because it's like, in between each trope, there's a moment of modern clarity. The best of this was seen in the final ep, where Shunyu explains his tropey nervous, confusing behaviour up to that point and we promptly see that once he's sure about Shangzhou's feelings, the confidence we usually see in him around colleagues quickly rears up. Also, he points how ridiculous it was that Shangzhou's mother slapped him, twice ? saying what we're all thinking, really.
- The extra cast members were likeable too, no one was hateable, not even Shangzhou's overdramatic mother.
- Production value was quite good, mostly suitable. Good aesthetic.
- The post credit kiss scene of the final ep is officially in my TOP 10 BL kisses, it hit just right at exactly the right time and the kiss came across easy and natural. I loved the lingering smile on Shunyu's face.
- It's funny, like I lol'd a lot, and that always raises the bar for me. The scene with the Shunyu, Shangzhou and the condoms was pretty hilarious, and the company trip, moving the decorations off the bed? very 'comedy relief'.
THE (not really) DOWNSIDE:
- The story is made up of tropes unfortunately, however, this didn't bother me so much because it was modernized and updated in a nice way.
The BL is not something deep or tackling any major or complicated issues, it's sweet and fun, amusing and well acted. I'd recc it for something light and enjoyable.
9/10 because the BEST thing would have been to remove the tropes completely. It's 2023, we don't need that ish.

Adorable Love Story with Happy Ending
**Brief Synopsis**T (CEO): Xia
B (Employee): Yao
- Beginning: T is the CEO of the company B is working at. The story starts when B is hired to be T’s assistant. T, who has been taught to hide all emotions, is taken by B’s optimism and charm and wishes to move their relationship to the next level. But B doesn’t believe T’s sincere in his affections because T’s an CEO and he’s just a normal person.
- Middle: T tries to convince B that he is serious and thinks up numerous ways to get closer to B, even convincing B to let him sleep at his apartment. T is not good with his words because he had never been taught how to deal with his emotions. This leads to a lot of misunderstandings between the two, a source of angst as B realizes that he was starting to fall for T as well (**tears warning**).
- End: Just as T is about to give up, deciding to let B go, B realizes that maybe he misunderstood T after all and finally brought up the courage to confess to T. The story ends with them together with both sets of parents knowing about their relationship and somewhat accepting.
**My Opinion**
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT:
- The actors playing B and T. Their chemistry was amazing and their interactions were cute and sweet. They also do a great job in portraying the affection between the characters.
- I really like that the ending was hinting at a possible wedding (both mothers were calling each other in laws).
- I like how by the end of the show, T has learned how to relax and live his own life, even smiling a lot more.
- I really like the fluffy moments in the last episode after they have accepted each other.
- I actually like the concept of the story despite how cliche it was. Seeing B’s impact on T is very nice.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT IT:
- Very tame intimate scenes which can be a disappointment.
- Plot is extremely simple and predictable. There aren’t any plot twists or memorable moments.
- Usage of miscommunication as source of angst: B thinks that T is playing with him but when T tries to explain, there is always some more miscommunication, leading to more angst.
- The acting from the ensemble cast can get very cringey. The writing tries to go for a comical effect but it fails. The dialogue can get a little awkward as well. The reactions from the characters can get a little exaggerated and unnatural.
- Slow burn, meaning they only got together in the last episode. I would have loved to see more of their daily interactions as a couple.
**Conclusion**
An OK watch but won’t be revisiting again.

Tawain knows BL
I give it to the Tawainese people, they make some very interesting BLs and they make them feel so many different emotions throughout. This one made me cry for a full episode and then I was giddy and grinning from ear to ear. I love it when a company gives us one episode of just pure bliss and happiness. I feel that is something lacking with some BLs, we never get to see the couple be a couple, where everything is just right with them. I want that. I want to see that and You are mine delivered that. The last 3 episodes were very heart warming and breaking at the same time and it didn't feel rushed, it felt that they were finally being honest with one another. I also love that the supporting cast was all there rooting for them and helping each one of them understand what the other could not.
Too many shows are ending, now on to something new.

Taiwan knows how to make BLs
You Are Mine is really silly and sweet. I have to say this BL is a little different from others because it gives a fresh feeling.Although the acting could have been better and the story felt a little rushed, I would still watch it again.
To be honest this is the first Taiwanese BL I've ever seen without any steamy scenes and I really liked it, kept it PG for young watchers or to people who rather watch cute over hot.
I've always been a fan of Taiwan's BLs, they never once disappoint.

Does what it set out to do.
"You Are Mine" is a classic office rom-com with a boss-employee romance. This drama thankfully doesn't pretend to want to be anything else, and it does it well.In accordance with its theme, the drama is rife with tropes -- from the gaggle of secretaries / colleagues, to the meddling friend/co-worker, and of course, both working overtime and the all-too-common work outing and more.
There's one story aspect that doesn't quite fit.
The main struggle in this story is that there's an imbalance of power between a boos and his employee -- and I do love that they address this! -- but it doesn't quite make itself clear through the script and the acting. For the longest time, it seems as if our employee is the usual "bottom"-type who is reluctant to enter a sexual/romantic same-sex relationship. The writing emphasizes this aspect too much and for too long, while the much more interesting and *actual* hurdle is only truly visible near the end.
I also am not too enamoured by the music. While the songs themselves fit the vibe of the drama and are likeable enough, they are unbearable as background music and distract from rather than support the scenes.
Both these aspects though are overshadowed by the amazingly on-point performance of the main actors, and also by the supporting actors -- it feels as if they know their characters inside out. The comedic timing is usually perfect.
I also love the "interviews" at the start of each episode (except episode 1, which has it at the end), which are funny in their own unique way.
Overall, it's a nice and fun watch for a gloomy day.

Great humor but sth is missing
I love the little pre-opening scene for each episode. It's cute and special. I enjoy watching the show, it made me laugh almost at every episode, even the kidnapping scene is so funny.I guess I can relate to the jokes better since I understand the language. i do realize jokes can lose its humor when translated since thats what happened to me when I watch other BL too
I really enjoy them as couple, although we only get to see their lovey dovey scenes in last episode
I don't really enjoy overall story as it's quite draggy. Like, all they need is just to communicate. Also, they don't really make my heart flutter when I watched them, for whatever reason. For this reason, I actually take some time to finish the show, when usually I tend to binge
I can't find what exactly is missing but sth is just not quite there.
Although, oevrall its a easy to watch, lighthearted show. Good for some laughs and just relaxacton

It Was Bizarre at Times
This series was somewhat bizarre and all over the place. It started off cute, gradually became annoying, and then took a drastic turn to being cute again. It did not help that the very basic story concept was not well executed. The positive: The cast was great and tried their best considering what they were given. The reality type interview scenes were enjoyable. It had a happy ending, and the opening and closing credits was fun to watch.
The negative: Unfortunately, the script and execution was simply not quite there. Xia Shang Zhou and Yao Shun Yu’s relationship had an interesting and cute beginning, but became tedious and annoying during most of the series. It’s hard to explain, but the comedy did not work. I was also not a fan of the comic book aspects used in the first few episodes.
Random Note:
Don’t stop watching after the montage of pictures in the first episode and closing credits in the last episode because there is an additional scene after it.
Can someone please explain how is this linked to the series Stay by My Side. It’s listed as a compilation series but I must have missed something.
I know I’m going to sound like a broken record, but the synopsis on Viki does not accurately describe what goes on in the series.

Cute but also frustrating
The pairing for this BL is really cute and they have insane chemistry (as most Taiwanese BL partners do). The story started off really promising, but I did find myself really tired of the cat and mouse episode to episode, especially in the last few. I just wanted them to be together. I also didn't like how dumb they made Shunyu out to be, when it came to Shang Zhou's feelings (and his own). So, that kind of took a few stars away for me personally. All in all, the actors here deserve another BL and I hope we get to see them in another series with a better story.

Sweet and light hearted Series
I enjoyed this series a great deal. It had me smiling, laughing, and even crying. The characters are fun and take you on a small adventure to find love between the lives of the rich and poor. I laughed so much at the beautiful touching moments they had. One of my favorites is the drunk moment and he bites him and then slaps his butt as punishment moments. The actors have great chemistry and the side characters are great fun to ass support from the brother vice president to the secretary pool helping. It was full of moments that made me smile and root for them to be together. The ending was a nice touch to have the mother president told off and then show support at the end. It's a great series, I only wish they had a more powerful ending and I wish for a bit more intimate moments so sweet together, hope to see them in another series together. Was this review helpful to you?

Personally one of my faves for the year 2023
First let me start off saying that I am writing this review a day after I have completed this series (11/11). Alright! Here's the thing- I really, REALLY liked this series. However, I'm not going to try to convince people who don't like it to like it. I understand why they don't like it. And those are exactly the same reasons on why I do like it.Story-9/10
I love this story so much! How it started with the cranky boss and the kind hearted secretary. And the it just turned into an excellent cat and mouse chase between the MC's.
And okay- yes it had a pet peeve that I absolutely ABHOR in series (miscommunication). But, I don't know, I felt that it was dealt with good in this series. Like, because how Xia Shang Zhou was raised, he just wasn't able to express himself properly to Yao Shun Yu (I mean he was comparing to get Yao to like/ date him as if he was taking over a company!) I am glad that they were able to clear up this misunderstanding between them and was able to get together in the end.
Now, why did I chose to give it a 9 instead of a 10? Because the mother basically came out of nowhere and just slapping my poor little Yao! And what got to me is the fact that Xia's mother basically knows nothing about him! How the heck you don't know that your own son gets bad headaches and can't et certain types of food! And forcing im on dayes that he clearly does not want to be on because he uses his secretaries to act as his significant other just not to date them. What kind of mother are you!
Acting/Cast-9.5/10
I loved the majority of the acting (the mother part still does not sit right with me!) From the interactions between the two male leads, to the other secretaries and even to the VP. They were all a joy to watch over these past few weeks. That's why I give a 9.5.
Music-10/10
Music is a 10/10 and ain't anybody going to change my mind about it!
Rewatch Valu-8.5/10
While I do like this series, I don't see myself watching it immediately, due to scenes that I must say did annoy me a bit. But I will say that there will be times where I will watch certain parts and smile uncontrollably. So, for that, I will give an 8.5.
Overall-9.5/10
Overall, I give this series a 9.5/10. I really did enjoy it and I do know that it really isn't for everyone. I'm gonna miss this series so much!

Cool breeze on a hot day
This love story was a fun one. It gave you the feeling of a warm blanket on a cold day. Both ML's were excellent in their roles. The secretary was funny and caring. I will definitely make a note to watch this again in a few months. It wasn't an epic love story, but it was a sweet one. Had some really good kissing in it. Also, I approved of the subtle emphasis on the use of condoms. The special added a bonus happy ending. The eventual approval of both mothers was a great way to imply that love is love. Was this review helpful to you?
Their chemistry
I really think that this series is underrated, more people should be talking about it. The characters in the series are very talented ?. I had a smile throughout the whole series, it is really enjoyable. It's the type of series, like if you want a break frome long series but, still want something worth the watch. No series is perfect, it does have its negatives, but there are not major to say its a bad show. It does lack a decent plot, but this was overpowered by the characters acting skills and how adorable they are. If you like cute but also sexy series, you should watch this one.
