Drama comedy horror 8.5

Park Shin Hye SLAYED this role
The plot was pretty refreshing with a strong, witty FL an ABSOLUTE DIVA. Also I lowkey enjoyed the “actual court” scenes because those criminals deserved every bit of it.20 min into the drama and I already knew Park Shin Hye is going to EAT THIS ROLE UP. She’s truly a classic S-class actress. >_<
I love the open ending, depending on each individual’s moral and opinion everyone can have their own satisfying ending.
The chemistry between the leads is wholesome, although ML’s presence was kind of underwhelming at times but still loved his character and most importantly Kim Jae Young did a great job playing Han Da On (his mischievous smiles and teary eyes meltssss you T-T)

A demon can never be So Lovable and Bloodshed was never this satisfying!
"The Judge from Hell" is probably the best K Drama of 2024.Park shin Hye as Kang Bit Na AKA Justitia just Stole the show, the entire credit for the hit goes to her alone. Woah! what a bad ass acting she did. I have never seen a FL who is this much Cool in K drama. She ate it. From being a Bad ass demon to a lover girl she gave it all from Ep 1 - ep 12 never missed to amuse me with her acting. This drama is just made for her. The rest of the actors though can never be even with PSH, they did a great job on their part, even a little support role was played to the point.
Mando, Gremory Duo was hilarious at times. I loved their duo
The fight scenes was mind blowing and it's really beyond words which was mad more beautiful by wonderful cinematography. The humour was on point, and was needed where it was in need. The overall story kept me engaged all the time, not even a second I was bored of this plot. Each and every story that comes in this drama is too unique and just perfectly directed. Hats off to the team of " The Judge From Hell". They really deserve all the awards.
"You are the only Blemish on my life, My only weakness. I Loved you a Lot Han Da On". when Bit Na said this to Han Da On while saying her final goodbye, tears kept rolling from my eyes non-stop and I repeated that scene so many times and watched it again and again. That was the best romantic part of this drama. ahh! those kisses at the end. Kisses was never this romantic. That one long Kiss plus OST by Sunmi just caught me off guard and that particular scene was so soothing and heavenly. The way FL pampered ML saying he is Cute all the time was really cute, "An eye Treat" for me.
Forgot to mention the costumes, every costumes stood out separately and was designed so well that it fits every actors and theme.
Changing into so many roles PSH never came out of any character. "Apologizing is an obligation But forgiveness is not" as she kills the final Killer this drama's Killing streak ends and now I really miss this series.
No one should miss this series. It's absolutely 10 on 10 for me. This drama just ended at a right time without dragging. The best
I really thank the team for giving out this masterpiece.....

One of the best K-drama so far
Where do I start? This drama kept me engage the entire time. From the cases to the killings to the judgments, it was a masterpiece. Every thing about this drama was spot on. I loved how Justisia judged based on her law and not the law of the land because we all know that the law of the land does very little justice. She punished those who needed to be punished and I loved that for her. I also loved that despite falling in love with a human, she kept to herself. She was just as cunning as the sinners. Of course, when it comes to who Satan was, it was subtle in showing us who it was but it wasn't super obvious as well. It kept me guessing among the Jung family. I mean, that Assemblyman was suspicious along with his sons. So it was interesting to keep guessing among who the Jung men were.Let's get started with the casts.
Park Shin Hye - Justisa and Kang Bit Na: wow, is all I can. She did an AMAZING job. This is by far her best performance since she started acting at a young age. She usually plays the same character, but she showcased her range with this one. I have always been a fan of hers, but she needs to play more roles like this. The badass woman who can defend herself. Of course, she is without faults. In the beginning, she was arrogant and rude, but she eventually started to understand humans and at the end, she did what she had promised the family. Her character arc was amazing. I enjoyed her smirk and fighting.
Kim Jae Young - Han Da On: Okay, not going to lie, I have never seen any of his dramas, but I thought that he was an awesome job. He was annoying at first, wanting to catch Kang Bit Na and use human laws against her, but once he joined forces with her, he started to understand that sometimes you can't use human laws on evil. I loved how with his eyes and tears, he can move the audience and the cold hearted Kang Bit Na. He went through a lot at a young age and he again lost the one who raised him and care for him, but he still wanted to be on the side of justice. His character arc was also amazing. He grew from being a one sided officer to understanding that the law may not always be on their side but he hopes that the law can at least mend the hearts of the victims.
Kim In Kwon - Mando: he is the funniest character of the entire drama. He was really put in a dilemma and he did what he can. I have always thought that he was a perfect match to Park Shin Hye. She had been driving him crazy since 2009 (if you know what I mean). Despite the fact that he was conflicted when it came to religion, being a demon himself, he was always loyal to Kang Bit Na. He went along with her shenanigans all the while trying to protect her the best he can.
Kim Ah Young - Arong: oh boy. Where to start with her. When we first met her, she was already suspicious to me. But she played her part so well. I understand that she wanted to do anything in her power to help Justista but betraying her idol was the most ridiculous thing she can do. I mean, Justitia has already told her to leave Han Da On alone, but she just couldn't trust her idol, so she went behind her back and got her almost killed. However, I did like that they made her realize what she did was wrong and stood by Justitia side as a loyal friend.
All of the guests did an AMAZING job. They were the perfect psychopath. They played their part very well and I can see that they have range to play someone who can come off as nice but is truly evil. They all deserve medals for their part in the drama. Some of them, especially the multiple personalities actor, outshined the main casts. I mean, they were just so awesome.
So, my rating. It started off as a 10, but I took 1.5 stars out because of the second part of episodes 14. I loved how she ended up dying, and then brought back to punish Jung Tae Gyu. However, she should have been sent back to Hell to punish the sinners and murders in Hell. After learning from what she had learned in the human world, she should have used that to rightfully punish the murders and not act like she did in the episode 1, but no, she asked Bael for three years and he willingly gave it to her. I love a happy ending, but I feel that for this drama, there shouldn't be a happy ending. This is not a fairytale drama.
The thing that I loved most about episode 14 is that it circled back to episode 1 when she told the kids about justice. That was a nice touch to the drama. However, I did not like the open end ending with the choice of either staying as a human by punishing 10 more sinners or going straight to hell. I wished she wouldn't even have that chance. I loved her but as I have stated, this wasn't a fairytale drama. It was a dark drama that has romance (which I still didn't agree with). Overall, I don't mind rewatching this again.

Another hit starring Park Shin Hye.
"A demon whose mission is to kill evil people who lead other people to their deaths and don't reflect on their actions". There are some dramas that you know are going to be a hit the moment you read the synopsis, and this was one of them. Park Shin Hye being the lead was a cherry on top.The plot of the drama was truly outstanding. It's very common to see a devil go out of character as the story develops but the writers made Justitia stay true to her character till the end. The character development throughout the drama was very consistent and satisfying. There was no rush in the episodes and everything was brought together really well. The scenes where she punishes the perpetrator were so satisfying to watch!! They each got exactly what they deserved! Seeing how they were punished exactly the way they treated the victims gives the viewers a different kind of satisfaction.
The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life. Park Shin Hye as always surpassed my expectations. Seeing her in her girl-boss era really shows her versatility. She always did justice to her roles but she outshined herself with the role of Justitia. The rest of the cast also did amazing with each of their roles.
The only downside I can think of for this drama is the romance aspect of it. At first it was kind of fun seeing how Justitia found Han Da On fun to play around with but turning it into a romance was not actually necessary, in my opinion. The story could have panned out well even without the romance between the two main characters. Their chemistry as the police officer and demon was top-notch but as lovers, it didn't really stand out.
Overall the drama was one of the best dramas to air in 2024. I would recommend it as on of the must-watch dramas of this year. If you are looking for a fantasy, revenge drama to satisfy your demon side, I would recommend watching this!

The best enemies to lovers trope
Holy shit this drama is so good. At first I was about to drop this because of the cgi(thought it was funny) and the hinted romance but surprisingly, i loved it. I fell in love with the characters, they are so *chef kiss*!! i love enemies to lovers frI love the fact that it went from "i'll kill you" and "i'll arrest you" to "ill protect ypu"(from both) I also love the fact that daon just supported bitna/justitia and is not telling his co-workers that her gf is the criminal "serial killer" LOL haha I ALASO LOVE THE FACT THAT DAON IS WILLING TO GO TO HELL FOR HER!!! DIRECTOR I SAY IN SEASON 2 WE MAKE THEM THE DEMON POWER COUPLE!!!

Unskippable Kdrama of The Year!
Kang Bitna had me enthralled into her demon eyes, and sassy personality. The Judge from Hell is one of the kdramas that I couldn't skip nor drop. It's extremely rare for me to truly love a kdrama in recent years because the acting is just not for me, or the storyline seems to fall short, or it just drags on and on. The Judge from Hell is an exception.I love the special effects in this drama, as well as the character growth of Kang Bitna. Honestly, she carried the entire show for me. Han Daon was just a cherry on top.
Park Shinhye's acting has captivated the audience, me included and I'm glad she has improved in the past 25 years that I've been watching her.
I would highly recommend if you're new to kdramas.

PERFEITO!!
enfim eu amei demais!!

OH MAY GAHHH
First things first, Park Shin Hye is a goddess. She is the actress in the first kdrama I ever watched, so she's my soft spot, but you can't tell me her performance wasn't flawless. I liked the ML, but maybe someone more experienced would be better, regardless, I liked him a lot as well. The drama is very good, giving you a little bit of everything. I liked the pace at which Justitia changed her attitude. The story is enticing, and it makes you devour the drama. It's been a long time since I last felt that way about a Korean drama, maybe since The Glory. The side characters were all well-developed and I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

Best drama of 2024!
I initially put this drama on as background noise while doing chores, without any expectations. I wasn’t familiar with Park Shin-hye and hadn’t seen her in anything before, but I did know Kim Jae-young, so when I found out he was the main lead, I was thrilled.! The drama captured my interest quickly; there weren’t any dull episodes, and all the actors delivered exceptional performances. It’s rare to find a drama where every actor shines.Although I can’t speak to Park Shin-hye’s previous work, anyone criticizing her acting after this series is simply being unreasonable. Her performance was outstanding, as was Kim Ah-young’s—she was amazing! As for those saying the romance seemed forced… what exactly did they expect? Romance is one of the core genres here, and without it, the story would lack variety. Plus, the chemistry between Shin-hye and Jae-young, both on and off screen, was fantastic. I genuinely can’t see how it could seem forced.
All in all, this is an excellent drama, and I’d say it’s the best one of 2024.

2024 new favorite!
I can’t believe it’s already over. I loved every second! Park Shin Hye truly shined—she completely owned this role. I don’t care what others say; I love her so much. And Kim Jae Young portrays his character so well. He's so talented and cute; I can't believe he's older than Shin Hye.While I’m a fan of romance and the chemistry between the leads was undeniable, I appreciated that romance wasn’t the main focus here. It’s more of a subgenre, adding depth without overpowering the story. Also, the rooftop kiss was so good I had to rewatch it a few times, lol. (〃ω〃)
I also love how they left the ending up to the viewers. For some, it’s an open ending; for others, a closed one. Personally, I think it was fitting, even though part of me would love a sequel. The final scenes, showing all the characters (victims) happy, were incredibly heartwarming. For me, the only downside was the unresolved question about Kang Bitna. Was she really sent to hell? She was wrongfully accused, so what happened? This plot hole is my only complaint, but overall, this drama is easily one of the best of 2024. (´∩ω∩`)

Is there such a thing as a Christian Horror? Refreshing Old Tropes
Horror is a genre frequently described as meant to "hurt its audience"; it's supposed to evoke "negative" feelings such as disgust, dread, fright, squeamishness. To that end, authors use a particular set of tools to evoke particular sets of feelings, and since there are so many horrors, nothing new ever really happens. There are three main things to like about this show. The refreshing of Old Tropes common to these kinds of stories. Combining tropes that normally not put together for this kind of show to give it a feel of creativity and newness. The use of skilled and experienced actors to give life to old material.
So, what you get here is a crime serial that combines tropes from several other genres to give the show a fresh feel. To say more is to spoil some of the twists the authors placed within the story. By placing these tropes within a crime serial and connecting it to cosmic justice made it enjoyable, even when some events are predictable. Since there are still surprises, and twists and turns to take us to the climax. The predictability did not make it boring. It was smart of the author, "even if we know where all this must end, what interesting and surprising ways can we get there. The twist is in the journey rather than the outcome. We are working with Character twists and character journey twists rather than plot twists.
We have interesting and likable and loathsome characters. We have a plain, common setting. We have a serial plot with lots of room to grow and the possibility of expansion. So, on technical merits it scores high. Good Characters. Mid Setting. Good Plot. Mild Gore. Good Music. Great Actors, and at times mind blowing acting. So how do we deal with a "plain, common, setting."? The author extends it. Indicating some mysteries beyond our typical Korean city, hiding beneath the surface. I truly wish the author, and actors might have been afforded more time to flesh out the world more and explore more intricate story and plot arcs. It would have done wonders to make the setting more interesting. The other experienced and skilled actors might have also gotten time to show their skills more.
There is another merit to this work the person watching for entertainment might not consider. The show is great. Watch it. The best production of 2024. The Plot, Setting and Characters together are interesting, even though separately mid. That is my review as a piece of entertaining K-Drama.
The real meat of the show is in the philosophy of the work, the thinkers and ideas I think were adopted for the inspiration of the story; and the themes explored. Divine Providence, Cosmic Justice and Legal Justice. If we take C.S. Lewis (Screwtape Letters, till we have faces) Dostoevsky (The Demons) and the Bible as launching pad. This work is an excellent piece of death education, philosophical theodicy to the problem of justice and interesting challenge to moral nihilism and how legal justice is powerless in the face of it all. There are things seemingly played for laughs or to show the quirkiness of the characters that turn out to be significant. What is it that can change "Dostoevsky style demons"? Can it be related to the silence of God? What is hell like to the soul given to depravity?
The first watch, it's a fun serial, with laughs and tears. The second watch is more serious. A Christian horror tackling the silence of God and Cosmic justice. So, watch it, and if you get a chance afterwards; read "the Screwtape letters", "Till We have Faces" and if you can stomach it add "The Demons". Then watch it again.
If you really have time, and love reading (all by C.S. Lewis), you can throw in
The Weight of Glory
The Great Divorce
The Problem of Pain
Miracles
The Final Battle (The last book of the Chronicles of Narnia)
The Abolition of Man
To further the appreciate the philosophical and theological depths of this drama. I might even be inspired to give a spoiler review for those who might want to watch it a second time and look out for interesting stuff.
