So bad it is hilarious
This drama is so bad, so bad, so bad...I am pretty sure the casting of Price Zayne went;
Ok line up
Take of your shirts
Smile
Ready set go, strip...
Fastest wins...
Some people had great singing voices
Some people had ok acting skills
Only one person in the whole drama had both... and that was probably Mikey. I am pretty sure about 90% of the laughter in the drama was real and not acting, out of embarrassment... Like are you kidding me you expect me to say this with a straight face...
The humour dirty and low... The quality of the music varies but is hilarious at times.
The sound awful, the filming awful, the dog adorable... the people adorable... the characters highly lovable... I may actually miss them all... And I hardly ever miss any characters... And the budget for bananas probably huge...
To sum it up this is not for everyone but I enjoyed it in all its terrible everything and may actually rewatch an episode or two now and then ...
Also people, it is hot in the Philippines!

Talk about melodrama prince.
If you love awkward acting, fairytale like drama, and GAY, then this one’s perfect for you! When it was initially announced that Oxin Films’ next production was a musical drama entitled “Rainbow Prince,” it sort of left a lot expecting something particularly gay, specially after My Day the series which was particularly extravagant in its own right and was pretty gay.
Most of the cast unfortunately suffers from awkward acting, though some may argue that this can be brought upon by bad direction. Well, if My Day was any indication, we really shouldn’t expect top notch acting from Oxin Films productions. It’s fun at best, cringe at worst.
The story was fairly predictable; Oxin Films loves melodrama. Prince runs away from evil uncle trying to steal the throne and finds himself in a foreign country and falls in love with a local. Great. But a lot of times, the littlest of things are made so awkward, specially with the awkward acting or strange storylines. LIKE the part where Mikey is enraged at Prince Zeyn for lying to him, not like he’s a royal prince trying to hide his identity to save his own life. Talk about good god, get a grip, BOY! And that climax? So underwhelming, it should be illegal. BUT the fact that everything is just so gay makes it worth while. I guess. Happily ever after, anyone?
The music was alright. Nothing groundbreaking, but it sure added the magical element to the story. Sometimes the second hand embarrassment of them just bursting into song is just unbearable, and I’m a big musical theater fan. But most of the songs were pretty meh which really reflects my gripe with Oxin Films.
Oxin Films seems to aim high by smothering a project with an arguably bigger budget than its contemporaries, but always falls short. Like it’s trying so hard to compensate for something with “bigger is better,” but the choices and execution always end up far from perfect in the process. Though, excessive is a word I’d describe Oxin Films productions, and I do hope that in their future projects, they’d do better from directing and acting to better production, Oxin Films, in my opinion, has such potential, and I can’t wait to see it.
P.S. I get that they come from a country names Zurbania, but what’s with the addiction to the letter Z? I get creative freedom, but can you get any tackier. The production and acting already left so much to be desired, but come on. I mean: Prince Zeyn? Prince Zafar? King Zahir? Queen Zara? DON’T get me started on the prince and his cousin ZEYN and MALIK?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! But I do love that the cousins are both GAY! YAY! Woo!
P.P.S. the actor for Prince Malik, Yani de Dios, is the kuya (older brother) of SB19’s Justin de Dios. So if you’re a PPop fan, maybe you’ll love that fact. :)

disney prince, opposites attract, sunshine/tsundere
(Jan-Feb-March on YouTube)This long form MUSICAL BL is LEGEND. Also it’s profoundly not good. The acting (aside fro the 2 leads) is absolutely terrible across the cast. But that’s kinda unimportant to what it did... or tried to do.
This was the BL version of High School Musical. Sparkles. Drags queens. Sweater vests. Pining. Floppy hair. Great subs. It’s a cheesy af fairy story. Hella queer. Possibly the gayest BL to ever BL and certainly the most camp.
THIS IS ART, PEOPLE.
Art is Art.
Art is the prince.
The prince is super touchy feely, me likey.
Plus every BL trope you could possibly want. and THEN all of the Disney ones.
It’s basically like the Philippines took Walt Disney by the tie, shook him violently with it and sang into his face a full volume:
WE WILL MAKE IT GAY, YOU COWARD!
I struggle to rate it as a result, because that’s kind of not the point. Would I watch it again? No. But then sing your feelings is one of my least favorite tropes. Plus I hate Disney. Seriously, just, HATE IT. So this BL was not for me, it was never gonna be for me.
But it was for Prince, Country, & BL!
RECOMMENDED ONLY IF YOU ALSO LIKE DISNEY STUFF

Instruction of How to Enjoy this Drama
First of all, Rainbow Prince is a true labor of love. And by that, I mean it must take a lot of love to create something so gloriously cringey, awkward, and outrageously over the top. It’s not just a show—it’s an experience. The kind of experience that makes you question your life choices, but in a way that’s so entertaining you can’t help but keep watching.Imagine a mid-2000s Disney Channel musical, the kind with catchy (if questionable) songs and plots held together by the flimsiest of threads, accidentally blended with BL. What do you get? A cheese-filled, plot-hole-riddled, logic-defying creation with dance numbers of varying quality and a story that feels like it was crafted by someone with a firm grasp on the "anything goes" rule of storytelling.
But let’s get down to the real instruction manual for watching Rainbow Prince, because this show requires strategy. It comes in three distinct phases:
1) "It’s bad—are they serious?"
Your first reaction will be one of confusion. You’ll sit there wondering how something this bizarrely off-kilter made it to screen. Is this a parody? Are they actually trying to be serious? The cognitive dissonance is real.
2) "Huh? It’s getting worse?"
Just when you think it can’t possibly dive deeper into the abyss of cringe, Rainbow Prince gleefully proves you wrong. Plot twists appear from nowhere, logic continues its vacation, and the musical numbers take you to a place where the laws of entertainment are entirely subjective.
3) "It’s so bad it’s started to become funny."
Ah, the final stage. You’ve reached the summit of Mount Absurdity. At this point, something magical happens—the sheer badness of it all starts to flip into comedy gold. It’s like the show becomes a parody of itself, and suddenly, you’re laughing with it (or at it, who can say?). You’re no longer just watching—you’re part of the chaos.
Now, to fully embrace this third phase, there’s a trick. You’ll need to turn off your brain completely and bring a bottle of Prosecco (better yet, make it two, depending on your alcohol tolerance). Drink every time you catch yourself thinking, “This is bad,” and before you know it, you’ll be singing along to the Rainbow Prince songs with gusto. If you attempt to mimic the choreography, well, that’s when the real magic happens.
Watching with a friend? You’ve just doubled the effect. I guarantee, after two episodes, you’ll be crying with laughter, fully invested in the madness, and probably having the time of your life.
So yes, Rainbow Prince is a triumph in its own special way. You just have to survive the first few minutes of shock and cringe to get there. Enjoy the ride—brain cells not required.

A lot of fun!
"Rainbow Prince" is now by far my favorite BL! The story was a mishmash of several Disney movies, and the actors went all out with their campy and cheesy roles. The songs were fun, the energy was upbeat, and despite the cliches, the whole drama felt fresh. It's the perfect drama to watch if you're looking for something light and feel-good.Both the main characters were funny and lovable (I especially liked Mikey), and there was a whole host of side characters who were magnificent and fun, as well. Most of their adventures were a series of romps and unconnected events, though the overall main plot was engaging. The drama got a little dramatic at times, though it was also very uplifting. Also, a lot of it was unintentionally funny, so it provided lots of entertainment!
Some people were upset by the relatively low quality of "Rainbow Prince". That's part of the charm, though. It worked for this drama, because it kept things simple and unassuming. It was rather reminiscent of web series like "My Best Gay Friends" and "My Immortal". That, mixed with it's Disney-esque quality, made "Rainbow Prince" total nostalgia bait. I'm certainly going to rewatch it! :D

I LOVED THIS SERIES!
I know, I know. Undoubtedly, I am in a minority here in just loving this series. I thought it was fun, creative, and one of a kind. Sure, the acting is flat but for me, that only enhanced this series even more. This series NEVER takes itself seriously and you should not also. It is a tongue-in-cheek fantasy. But with a twist. It is the first GAY live-action fairytale and for that it deserves our praises and kudos. It was not afraid to be gay, gay, gay. No nonsense about liking the person not the gender. They liked each other BECAUSE they were gay. If I were a kid, struggling to figure out who I was, I would have LOVED this as it represented me. I could feel that a prince might just be coming for me someday too. I know the acting is not perhaps top-notch, but it makes it up in catching songs, and an adorable story with some very poignant moments. Sure, the songs are Disney-like, but who does not like Disney. I am simply not ashamed to say that I loved this series and binged watch it, which I never do.If you want to see my full review go to BLBliss.com to read it.

I don’t even know what to say
This drama is like a middle school play .It was like the criteria for the drama was terrible acting . The script didn’t help the actors either . Most of the time it felt like they were reading a nursery speech .
But if you drop your iq and not take the drama seriously you’d find it funny and actually laugh . Just assume that your friends came together to make a movie just for fun ??
Most of the time I found it hard to believe those were actual scenes . It was like a compilation of bloopers.
The singing caught me off guard and was uncalled for . It only made the drama seem more of a joke than it already was.
Bonus : there’s no proper kiss scene ❤️&?

Don't Waste your time!
This series was a huge disappointment. I remember how excited I was when I saw the trailer. It actually looked pretty decent, even the acting did. I've never watched anything by Oxin before, so I had no idea to what an awful train wreck I was in for. YIKES! The acting was horrible from beginning to end. Which was shocking because it looked ok from the trailer. The only decent actor was Eurwin and even he for the most part was awful. The rest of the cast either looked like they were trying hard to hold in their laughter thru out or were just reading the script lines like robots without emotion. Then the director or editor left in the dumbest of bloopers like the Grinder one. The cast tried their best, but it was embarrassingly bad.Adrian is good looking but never cast him again. He made this show unwatchable for me. Not only that but the story is all over the place. One minute it's up then it's down. Like the story tellers had no idea where to go. I only finished it because when I start something it's really hard for me to drop unless I really hate it. For some reason I didn't hate this enough and decided to finish.
I'll give Rainbow Prince this: it had some decent songs, and the last 4 episodes were a bit better written. IMO the only salvageable part of this whole series was Ken and Malik. They're the only reason I give RP a 3.5. If it would have been centerd on them maybe I would have enjoyed it more. I'm glad this is over. Never again will I be rewatching this mess or listening to the soundtrack.
Don't waste your time on this unless you want to watch it as a parody. It had potential for so much more especially since it was the first Fairytale/Musical BL. But, it failed in every way possible. Run far, far away. If you want better Phillipino BL series watch: Game Boys, The Boy Foretold By The Stars/Love Beneath the Stars series or Gaya sa Pelikula. Skip this abomination all together.

Where do I even begin...?
Were it not for having nothing to do while waiting for "F4 Thailand" to start, I'm pretty certain I wouldn't even throw an eye on this train wreck, but here we are. "Rainbow Prince" is the "Disney" BL musical nobody asked for. There's a palace coup in the kingdom of the fictional "Zurbania", and Prince Zafar (no relation to Jafar) just snatches the kingdom once his brother - the King of Zurbania - drops dead. And I mean, he literally drops dead. With the king in the ground, the queen - with her surgically implanted tiara - is locked away (in full drag, I might add) and Prince Zayn (said Rainbow Prince) skips town...and nobody - not a single Zurbanian, realizes that the entire Royal Family has gone missing. Ahhh, Zurbania - home to the world's largest population of idiots. Anyhoo, Prince Zayn arrives in Manila, spots Mikey, falls in love with him and hi-jinks ensue. There. That's your plot. Oh, and the "Disney" music - Walt Disney is certainly spinning in his grave."Rainbow Prince" is what I would consider an accidental comedy. The cheap and badly made costumes, the dollar store props, the uninspired musical numbers, not to mention the non-existent "acting" (which seems improvised most of the time) all add up to a crap fest to stop all crap fests. Oh, and let's not forget the moments of viewer discomfort where you actually are compelled to look away - the young Zayn in a pair of Speedos (in the year 2022!) being ogled by a bunch of grown-ass men and women (!), Zayn jumping naked into bed with Mikey when they first meet), Zayn making Mikey bend over (?) to watch the stars so that he could...ahhhm...do stuff against his butt with his crotch, the two young men and the drag queen (!) dining with the Queen of Zurbania and showing off their deep-throating skills using bananas!!! WTH!?!
There is one final parting gift however. If you hang around long enough, I can almost guarantee at least a guffaw when the crowd of CGI citizens of Zurbania gather to cheer on their new king. Talk about cheap CGI.
During the final moments of this series, as I sat watching, a fly started buzzing around the screen, and all I could think was, "So, yeah - excrement really does draw files." Fail.

Really cheesy and hilarious and has good catchy songs watch it
I watched the trailer way before this came out and my forst thought was "i cant wait to watch this" and after it came out i didnt watch it i procrastinated on watching it till i decided to just do it and i wished i would have not waited so long. The first episode in and i was already smiling uncontrollably and laughing. I was songlad inhad started to watch it and the more i watched the more i liked it. Especially the songs they are so catchy and has lyrics that you could possibly relate to (not all songs can relate to you). I still listen to my favorite ones over and over.
I also love the main characters you can really see the growth of them over time. Its slow but you can see the little changes if you pay attention. I honestly didnt think i was gonna like it as much as i did. I am a huge critique and im very harsh sometimes. If i see a series being advertise everywhere ill go watch it and if its not to my expectations or higher or there is to much wrong i wont even finish episode one.
I was hooked on this in episode one and now i bored out of my mind waiting for the next episode. This is really better than i epected it to be, i knew it would be good from the trailer but not this good. This diffinitely made it to my favorite series list and i will be rewatching this forever.
Thats my oppinon though inthink that you should give it a try with an open mind and form your own opinion since everyone and their tastes are different. I do and will recomend this to my friends and i absolutly love this series

Where is Zurbania?
I have to applaud Oxin and the cast and crew of "Rainbow Prince" for their effort and conception. It is not usual to get a gay themed musical, also the singing was not bad, and most of the time pleasant. The actors were cute, and the settings were appropriate. The songs had a Disney ish sound to them along with typical topics. I appreciate the attempt, and I looked forward ever week to watch this. I am not disappointed. There are some issues, I feel, with the acting, but neither main has much experience, but I also feel the script might have been part of the problem. It felt as though some scenes were improvised. The production was not consistent through out the series. One more thing, the coronation at the end had bigger crowns on the drag queen and Mikey's mother were bigger than anyone in the royal family! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!My trip after all the COVID mess is done, I guess I will visit Zurbania!

It was so trash that it became funny
This is just my opinion but this series was like a little piece of mind burning. When I watched it my mind went completely blank, and just enjoyed the overacting, the usual fantasy storyline and all the bad but hillarious scenes. If you want a real masterpiece than maybe this is not your series. But if you need some mindblowing stupidness with a little fantasy and bl line, then I think you should watch this drama?
(A little spoiler)
I got my life's best kidnapping scene with this series?
(I mean, why did you brought that poor dog with you, bro????? )
