Simple yet fluttering
This drama really leaves my heart fluttering and skip a beat at those sweet moments between the main lead. Their chemistry is so good and their lines aren’t too cringey as well. I think Rainbow did a good job portraying Ding Xian - soft yet strong. Zhe yuan also did a good job in portraying Shi Yue - cold yet heartwarming and caring. What really hits me was how realistic they have portrayed the Asian family culture - parents pressure on the child, parents deciding what the child can study and the arguments. They were all so relatable and not too over the top.
Overall, a really great drama where it brings back high school memories and where you wish those romance happens to you.

teen drama
how is the story and the problems taken by this drama, everything is like in the real world. I really felt that problem so I really got swept up in this drama. This teen romance drama features a teen-like romance, and a ton of cute scenes. for acting, i really like from all his acting.maybe because the problem taken is real in my life, I feel almost all the emotions. even the love scenes, I like where I am here as a non-believer About that. I even like the ost in this drama. This drama is really recommended to watch. Was this review helpful to you?

Oh how nice to be young, and in love! Worth the hype and time to watch!
I enjoyed and loved this drama, the story is cliché but the executions of scenes, acting, music background and even their clothes made it all worthwhile to watch it. The ML and FL is soo cute, sweet, striving, hard workers and just too good to watch. Their chemistry is really good, you'll feel the young love, the high school crush you felt when you were young. The struggles related with studying, how to go to a key university, pressure from parents, jealousy from siblings (can't avoid favoritism), assignments, projects and deadlines to meet and submit.
Also, what happened with Ding Xian during the entrance exam is realistic, it really happens in real life.
They're too realistic, that gave me the feeling of going back to my high school days. I also love their friendships, supporting your friends in need and just simply enjoying life, love, and school all at the same time.
Also, I love their relationships with their family, it's soo realistic; which at times made me teary-eyed when I watched their scenes with their parents.
I also love how Ding Xian and Zhou Si Yue's wardrobe/fashion style, every time they're together in a scene, were they're wearing outside clothes, it is always coordinates. They will always have a touch of the same color of clothes. It is sooo cute and I always look forward for their wardrobe.
Over all, this is an enjoyable show, which gives a lot of take-aways in life, especially for students who are struggling in studies, that as long as you believe in yourself, giving all your best, never giving up, then you'll be able to reach and meet your set goals and dreams in life.

Light drama without tackling any serious teenage issues
"Our Secret" is one of the lighter coming-of-age teen dramas that I have watched. It is very romance-focused and doesn't tackle serious issues, and even the pressure of school/studies isn't that bad. The romance is very slow-burn and is nicely paced and done. You can say the relationship has a pretty "realistic" development. The leads do have some pretty sweet moments.Personally, I don't like FL's character. I don't like loud female leads nor super shy ones either. FL here is the shy, quiet and super introverted type. Comparatively, I like the quiet but strong FL in "My Huckleberry Friends" more. I also don't like FL's voice and the way she speaks. On the other hand, ML has a more normal personality (though he's a genius) and not the typical bad boy or cold-outside/warm-inside type.
I think 24 episodes is more than enough, and it could be one or two episodes shorter. Because the drama is very "slice-of-life", personally I find the pacing OK (not great) but also not too slow. I watched this drama on YouTube and it affects my viewing enjoyment because some songs and music were blocked due to copyright issues.

It’s raining sugar!! :)
Starts off with Ding Xian moving to a new school at 16 years old, and her desk mate is none other than Zhou Si Yue. Initially they don’t get along (of course!) but soon you can see he starts to like her and gives her special treatment - like helping her with her homework, giving her his notes, protecting her from embarrassment etc... they don’t actually confess their feelings yet, and just say they are desk mates/ classmates.Soon he enters university first, while she struggles with the entrance exam. She has to work extra hard to get into the same uni as him (he’s somewhat of a genius ) so she’s quite stressed and exhausted. When she finally succeeds, they haven’t kept in touch for almost a year and he was going through some struggles. He decides he doesn’t want to start any relationship (because he feels he’s not good enough- typical) but ding dong ding dong, he finally realises he really likes her and starts to pursue her. After that it’s all raining sugar :)
The concept is nothing new, you have the usual love rivals/ third parties; the best friends starting their relationships; the competition trying to backstab them etc... Ding Xian’s mother is rather overbearing (instead of the overbearing CEO theme); very controlling and quite ridiculous in my opinion.
I think the writers spent a bit too much time on the high school segment- Episodes 1-15? It would have been better to spend more during the uni days and maybe when they start work.
Anyhow, the love story development is very sweet, very understanding and supportive. Not much kissing or PDA if you’re looking for that ;) It is a youth drama so gotta keep it PG13?? Lol...
Chen Zhe Yuan as Zhou Siyue was pretty good, he played the character well. As for Xu Mengjie aka Rainbow Xu who played Ding Xian... umm I didn’t really like how she carried herself. I felt she mumbled a lot, and her acting was rather sluggish. I’ve seen videos of her dancing and doing tik toks, which is very different from her character as she was a member of Rocket Girls 101.
All in all, it’s a beautiful drama and a definite recommended watch. Check out my Instagram profile for video clips. Enjoy :)

SUCH A CUTE DRAMA, makes you want to smile every second
story:i really loved the first half of the drama, where it was set at the high school. those days were so cute and sweet, it made me almost look forward to school... watched most of it in one night and i was literally smiling every second
acting/cast:
i didn't really know how to feel about the cast beforehand, because one of them was an idol and i wasn't too familiar with the ml. but they both portrayed their role really well and THEY HAVE SO MUCH CHEMISTRY. there were a lot of scenes where they were just playing around and it literally felt like they were a real couple.
music:
cute music, i added one of the songs into my playlist. (but i'm more a fan of historical ost so)
rewatch value:
i don't usually rewatch dramas, but i feel like i might revisit the first half of this one in the future (when i have no motivation to study lol)
overall:
amazing drama. didn't expect to like it at all (honestly thought it was gonna be cringe), but it was really cute and sweet.

The cast/acting was okay. I wasn't cringing or exactly displeased. I believe for XMJ, she's a rookie actress? Her portrayal of the character wasn't terrible, but I'm not sure, it wasn't perfect. I didn't hate it. I found her character cute. CZY, I've watched some of his works before and his acting is obviously fairly better, being an actor. I enjoyed his character and his portrayal.
Music. I don't think I listened to it very deeply, but it was okay. I liked it. It was sweet.
Rewatch value. I would probably rewatch once or twice if I wasn't to feel bubbly inside. It was warming.
Overall, I enjoyed it. I binged watched it so, yeah.

A very sweet and mature youth drama!
Desk mates. Friends. Lovers. Through growing pains, separation and reconciliation, Si Yue and Ding Xian remain earnest to what they know to be true: their relationship. They are each other's constant through everything and a love based on mutual respect and understanding is meant to last a lifetime.Yes, the story follows a pattern and it has troupes. But I can overlook all that thanks to good story development and performances. Besides, Chen Zheyuan and Xu Meng Jie have GREAT chemistry. If you are looking a drama to relax to, this is it.
The teaser trailer for Our Secret is accurate but also misleading af. It has all the sweet moments but the story is more mature than what is shown. I was pleasently surprised.
Overall, this was a very endearing youth drama, with solid character development and performances. The story is sweet and if you are looking for a drama to relax and smile to, this is it.
I recommend it!

A very relatable high school drama
As a student ,let it be high schooler or college/university students , i know everyone wants to have a enjoyful & youthful life but it may not be same as we think it'll be .And so we need to accept it as a matured person, the way life serves us whether its good or bad.So, This drama was so relatable for a high school/college set of series. The growth they showed as a junior scholars to a graduates; the friendships & hardships they showed.
The cast was amazing. They played their role perfectly. As for the leads, i did get bored in their misunderstandings but never thought of dropping it. Just had patience for their love to grow, and the way they showed their love to each other. I couldn't help grinning and blushing. THEY WERE JUST SO CUTE!!!! ≧﹏≦
It made me really committed to the drama.

THE KIND OF 'girl chase boy' DRAMA WE WANT
Although the feeling are mutual but due to being poor and not ready to waste time for romance and all there will be few epi { like2 or 3 not much] where ML will deny his feeling but you can clearly see him suffering . The best fact is that the girl chases him as she knows he loves her so she joins same university and same major( although she did not give up her real dream n was doing that side by side ) but when she feels neglected the best fact is that she gives up on both the ML and the unwanted major to just focus on her dream. FML is having respect towards her self which is very rare in the female chase male type. even though she still likes ML she starts to ignore him from that point which was such a great lesson for the ML. he then comes to his sense and confess her but she also ignores him for a vert short time which was the best part cuz usually FML accepts ML in a sec or so even if it was his mistake which is what i just hate. SO YOU CAN SAY FML LEAD IS REALISTICALLY STRONG AND MALE LEAD IS SOFT AND INNOCENT.Was this review helpful to you?
Read this if you are planning to watch this….
I like youth dramas so thats why i was excited to watch this. This is drama is 100% worth watching. The lead main characters have great chemistry on screen. Correct me if i’m wrong but i heard this was the female lead first main role in a drama. She did a amazing job. I didn’t even know she was a rookie actress. As well, as the male lead actor, he did a wonderful job with this role. The storyline was nice to watch. This is a childhood friend to lovers type of drama, which i like a lot. If you are into youth, school to university dramas then this is for you. I hope you enjoy it.Was this review helpful to you?
