Neo Hou shines in Back from the Brink and has more chemistry with FL in this fantasy drama while it was not 'wuxia' compared to Dashing Youth---one could argue that DY was more fantasy as well since so much of the "fighting" was just using "techniques" that had everything to do with CGI than actual cheorographed fighting/sword play.
So I recommend BttB as a far more compelling story where the lead (this time the Female) becomes"evil" but goodness prevails.

-cultivators vs demons
-ML are tortured
-ML willing to trade life for FL
-FL lack cultivation at first
-both are wuxia
-Both shows, ml and fl go on an adventure to search for missing items. In LAR, they went looking for parts of a mirror so FL can regain her 6 senses. In BFTB, they are looking for the ML body parts to regain his full powers as the dragon lord
