Episode 1 - lovely intro countryside and "Indian Summer", then (thinks) is this meant to be surreal or just a mess of bad acting? As to "the beauty and body" of Gil Ra Im, is the above summary for real? it's extremely well hidden. But the production values are good…….As at ep.2 is this rather ridiculous - the idea that not-bad looking Hyun Bin (especially as s super rich CEO) would fall for plain Jane penniless Ha Ji Won defies credulity - plus I don't like the snide reference about "gays". Ep 3 why am I still watching this? the fashion? interior design? Oska? - oh, I forgot Lee Jong Suk……..are you there?? Ep 5 strangely magnetising, beginning to get into this but mainly for the side stories and bizarre characters of Kim Joo Won and OSKA, I like bizarre characters, but regrettably still not Gil Ra Im. ep 7 - well with a mother like that I now understand why he became so twisted, whew. This drama lit up with the gender bending, I'm not sure if Hyun Bin deliberately meant his transformation to be so camp, but either way it's quite funny. I like Hyun Bin here, he has a difficult character to portray but he in particular has managed to keep me watching. I would like to watch more by him but the dramas covered here don't sound appealing. The soundtrack of this drama is also really good. Ep. 13 Gil Ra Im's evening dress is -ahem- a little "de trop". I do love that house, the architecture and interior design are stunning [that library! but where did he get the time to read all those books?) Ep17/18 really an unexpected twist (not entirely liked by me) but SG now passes my excellence test of putting it on hold because I don't want it to finish. Having now finished the series I think it should have ended with Episode 19 and left the rest to our imaginings. What was a stylish, classy and intriguing series raising some real questions about identity and the penetration into this world of other dimensions was spoilt by - there's a good English word - sentimentality of a common romantic drama. Better to stop when it was still ahead. Maybe this stuff appeals to many people, but I feel it was a major error of judgment by the writer/producer. This is not to take away from all the good things in the series. I plan to re-watch as I suspect I missed many details the first time around. But I shall not be watching the last episode.

I watched this drama because of the Strong Female Lead tag and my review and ratings are a result of that disappointment! I guess whoever tagged this as strong FL did it only because that character could do good physical stunts because otherwise it should have been tagged as the really weak FL!
The FL was a totally emotionally desperate character with very little sense of self respect! I kept watching it hoping that she would take a real stand against the ML at least one time but no, other than her outwardly tough appearance, she was a really easy pushover type character!
And that's what made me really frustrated because the character had so much potential but the makers just wanted to show an obedient and overly sensitive good little girl type FL masquerading as a really badass stunt person outwardly... Very Disappointed...

Headline: Spoiled brat stalks spunky woman who should kick him in the balls but doesn't

My title pretty much sums up this drama. I started watching it because it was rated pretty highly, but the more I watch the less I like it. The main male lead, Joo Won, has been incredibly unlikable for over half of this drama, and nothing he's done has redeemed my initial impression of him. He's a pompous ass who thinks his feelings and wants are more important than anybody else's, and he thinks it's a given that everybody should care about what he feels, but he doesn't see the need to care about how others feel. I really don't want to waste another 9 hours of my time waiting for his character development, because I already hate him. At this point I honestly don't even care if he improves tremendously in the latter half of the drama; I've already wasted my time watching 11 episodes of this drama go literally nowhere. I've spent more time urging the female lead to kick Joo Won in the balls, punch him in the face, and file a restraining order, than I have spent rooting for their relationship. Honestly, the worst thing about this drama were the kisses; I never once liked them. In fact, one of the kisses left me yelling at the female lead to use her nails to gouge his face, or use her knee to destroy his manhood, because he forced himself on her and instead of ACTUALLY defending herself (she's a stuntwoman for God's sake, she knows how and where to hit to make it hurt), she ineffectually hits his arms. That scene was beyond stupid.

This drama has it's moments, sure, but they are few and far between. The best character by far is Oska, the main guy's cousin. I love Oska; he deserved to be the main character. I shipped him and the female lead, they were actually cute together.

I did not like it... I watched it because of the high reviews, but I could not stand how he treated the woman in this story. This is baffling for me why many people actually liked it. It was just too much bickering back and forth = tiring after awhile. I had to put it to rest and continue, mute and just half watching it and jump to the end. OH MY GOODNESS, the ending was soo cheesy.

Secret Garden and I had a love/hate relationship haha.
At times I thought this drama was fantastic at others I was like WHAT IS GOING ON! Although I did enjoy this drama I felt that the storyline was a little too all over the place for my taste.
I loved the main couple though, the were too cute for words even with all of their fighting. and Oska *sigh* amazing.
I did enjoy the acting of Ha Ji Won who has now become one of my favorite actresses and Hyun Bin's performance was to die for, several times I wanted to switch places with Jiwon haha.
Although not my favorite, this drama holds a special place in my heart.
I recommend this to anyone! Happy Watching :)

Great drama, with the most kiss scenes (I think) Hyun Bin is great here, after this I've watched all his dramas so far and still searching for more.

His portrayal when they switched bodies is very amusing. Loved the story, acting, everything was great Ha Ji Won is great also. Her male portrayal was great.

Another drama where I wanted to reach into the screen and slap someone, his mother. Loved Lee Phillip, especially his English.
I've watched this one again also. Loved the OST especially 4MEN's 'Reason'

Another favorite of mine, also worth more than a 10.

Ok where should i start hmmmm, 1st this ain`t the best for me, but i must say its good. this Drama started off luke warm the chemistry with the main leads was not smashing especially at 1st, but i got use to them i guess u could say they grew on me.
The jokes were good they had me chuckling and even laughing @ times. The story was great the acting good, but it fell down along the way. Ok this is it low-HIGH-low-HIGH, they could not maintain the excellent work which i saw @ times. It took me a good while to finish this drama due to the low points (i don`t like skipping scenes). i started this drama and stop @ episode 2 went to watch something else then came back. I watched again till about episode 12-14 and fell asleep, but fought it thru the low points and made it to the end.
All in all i still recommend this drama for its still a very good story so i gave it a 9 and i actually thought of giving it a 10, but the ending was too cliche for me too perfect and i`m one for reality love and not story book ones. i`m sorry mardne n jody i`m not all that excited but i did enjoy this drama thanks for the recommendation.

The name of the drama itself illuminates a fantasy-mysterious drama. The story is breathtaking and such a dream. hahas. This was my first melodrama I watched all the way through, and it was my first time seeing Ji won's acting. What I enjoyed about this drama is the comedy aspect, and Hyun Bin's devotedness to Ji won's character. It was defintely interesting a fantasy drama directed into a live-action drama.

The best acting was [obviously] Hyun Bin's acting. I must say, at first I was taken away by Ga In's acting-- until I saw King to Heart. Hyun Bin is one of those actors that performs with such a presence, that forces his co-lead to respond so effectively. Overall, I Hyun Bin's acting was what made Ji won's acting good. I guess Im saying that Hyun Bin's acting was more diverse, compared to Ji won's. I mean her char. was mighty cool, trust me.. who doesnt want a kick ass pretty girl? You read this in manga, but how often do we really get to see it in live-action? I mean when you think about it, He had the more difficult part... at times I was cracking up how girly-feminine he could sound.

"Is this the best you can do? Are you sure?"

Well, Secret Garden was the very first drama I've watched properly and I'm sort of nostalgic-biased towards it so I'm gonna try to be as objective as I can.

The story isn't something that new or epic, there are moments where you feel like they're being rehashed over and over again but what make the series truly memorable is :

a) the music. We all know that a good OST and a good music score can propel a series from good to great and this is exactly the case for SG, and even some more.
Every single piece of music on the series, from the iconic "That Woman", to the piano BGM pieces are absolutely fantastic. It's just a marvelous OST, simple as that.

b) HJW & HB's acting on their switch personalities mode.

c) Oska.

So yeah, SG might be deemed overrated by some and, they might have a point in the sense that the series didn't bring something water mouthing on the table to warrant all the hype and the ratings, but it's still a good series- with great acting, superb music and a few touching moments that will definitely stay with you.

There are a lot of movies and series about body swaping,, but not a single one of them can be compared to secret garden. More than the captivating and awesome story, I'm really taken by the flawless acting in which both main artists had to play both roles. I really respect them for making me believe that body swaping stories can be amazing. <3
