A Beautiful Train-Wreck of a Show
Autumn's Concerto is not what I would call a "good drama" which is why I have given it a 6.5 overall, but I would call it "a beautiful train-wreck." It was incredibly fun to watch as something to laugh with, but I do not think it's a show for serious viewing. I spent half of the time laughing at the wonderfully 2009 soap opera sound editing and haircuts as well as all of the plot twists and genres the writers managed to cram in there. It's part school (college) drama, part medical/hospital drama, part rich/poor relationship drama, part court drama, AND part gang drama depending on the episode. It is INCREDIBLY melodramatic in just the right kind of way, but I couldn't take any of the show seriously. The romance plotline is really messed up if you want to think about the real implications of it, but if you're just looking for a turn off your brain show where the actors are giving 110%, this is the show for you. Highly recommend it if you're looking to not think too hard and just live in the drama of 2009 for a bit.Was this review helpful to you?

The story line for this drama isn't anything new, but I thought it was going to be great for the first six episodes. Then it was just a drawn out mess. The story gets so convoluted that I was just tired while watching it. I could have skipped from episode 6 to somewhere around 13 or 14 and been fine. Not that there aren't some wonderful moments that are so touching especially with that adorable child, Bin Xiao Xiao. One of the scenes with his "fairy grandmother" on a park bench is just so adorable that he thaws her cold heart. Episode 17 in particular is a really great episode. I think that if they had just shortened the length and not put in so many flash backs that I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I enjoyed the character progression, but it took so long to get from point A to point B. The ending was cute though.Bin Xiao Xiao as little Xiao Le makes this drama worth watching. He is so adorable. They make him a little mature for his age, but considering he is raised in a single parent household that seems legitimate. I have never seen Wu Vanness in anything else. I never watched Meteor Garden or Meteor Rain. I think that he did a great job as Guang Xi. As far as his character is concerned I believe he showed the appropriate emotions for what he goes through. I can't really go into it because we can't post spoilers, but dang...How much lying can one person take??? He has a really nice smile too. An Ady is really beautiful and I have no problem with her acting, but her character is just too bothersome. It isn't her fault though. It is the fault of the writers. I admit to having second male lead syndrome for part of this drama because Wu Chris's character Tuo Ye is so likable.
I don't really remember the music.
I will NEVER rewatch this.
There are many, many positive reviews for this drama. So, don't decide to watch this or not based on my opinion. Watch it for yourself and decide :-)

This drama is a muddled mess of amnesia, stabbings, and confused hearts. I honestly winced my way through this, often times wishing I'd never started.
The acting dragged. The poor portrayal of the characters Ren Guang Xi and Liang Mu Cheng left me feeling jipped. They were way too over emotional, and often times took their characters to places I didn't understand.
The writing was poor and messy at best. The script continuously mixed in random bits of drama cliches whenever they felt like they were running out of actual story line. Nothing about this drama keeps you guessing. It's all already been done and seen.
For me, the only thing that I enjoyed about this drama was the adorable child whom played Liang Xiao Le. He was adorable and cute, and honestly the only actor worth watching in this drama.

I watched it a year back and watched it now, brilliant...anyone loving asian dramas or romantic dramas in general, watch it. Fresh content, well written.
The main leads acted so well and that kid was so cute. The relation built between the grandma and grandson was so well done.
You do get angry with the heroine for not grabbing happiness but u thn realise that is her character trait that they have maintained throughout.
Worth a 100 rewatches...best drama ever!

Terrible storyline and casting of FL
I'm sorry, but the only reason I completed this drama was for everyone else other than the FL. Her awful acting ( she pouted her way through 34 episodes) coupled with a bland expression made her painful to watch. Let's not mention her character - a liar who believed herself to be a victim and constantly put herself in masochistic situations. I don't have much to say about the storyline after Guang Xi lost his memory. The plot was all over the place. I was really rooting for the ML with the 2nd FL, but sadly that didn't happen. I won't be watching this drama again or any other with this FL.Was this review helpful to you?
I don't have anything against the cast in the drama. It seems that they all gave their best in portraying their role. Everyone say that Vanness Wu is struggling with his Mandarin but as I don't speak the language, I really don't mind and it seems okay. Nonetheless, Vanness Wu and Ady An have undeniable chemistry. Furthermore, the child that portrayed Xiao Le, is one of the best actor in the whole series. It is also by their soundtrack that made me love this series more. The music gave more emotion to every scene that I can even shed a tear when it starts. Air on the G String is love!
All in all, this drama is a gem that will always be one of the best. I would never mind watching it again especially if I want to have a good cry.
It is really a roller coaster ride.
It roots deep. A lot of understanding and realization can came up with this series. Love is really of different kinds.
Caution: this is not for the lighthearted! Blast of emotions coming up! ???

This drama made me cry and I wanted to slap his mother, her father and sometimes the doctor so bad. I especially cried when he was learning to tie his shoe laces and had a headache and had to stop watching when she had to leave.
Loves his excuse for getting married to her, loves the son, loved, loved everything from that moment on. Great love scene, great drama, this is also worth more than a 10.

Plot | A pretty cocky playboy and a poor girl meet in a kind of messed up way, but end up getting close. But later one Guang Xi needs to get a brain surgery and ends up losing his memory. Not sure if that will pull other in to watch, but this was played out SO well. May be a little typical but believe me, the story was written too perfectly.
Acting/Cast | PERFECT. that's it. I love VanNess's acting. He and An Ady seemed to go well together. Though at times I wished her character was portrayed in a different way. Less..weak? Not sure how to explain that well. But Wen Benny! That kid seriously has a talent for acting. Whether he is acting cute or crying or saying some long lines without it sounding scripted, I loved him. Supporting cast was fine. The villagers could get quite annoying at times. But that's honestly something you always expect when you watch Taiwanese dramas, loud, obnoxious parents/friends/randoms.
Music | "I Love Him" is such a great song. Besides that song I can't really remember anything else that was played. That song alone is enough to score music so high.
Overall | Of course there are going to be people who say this drama dragged a little towards the end, and I get it, I was frustrated at a certain point to (just wanted the story to move along) but in some weird way, it made me love the ending/characters even more. As weird as it may sound, I wouldn't have minded this being longer. That's how much I liked watching the main leads together. I just loved this drama!
Just watch this drama. That's it. I think I've rewatched it 4 times already ~
Oh, it's on netflix instant watch by the way! So you can watch it on there without any annoying (viki) ads!

Tear Jerking Yet Heart Warming
Although it's an older drama, it really is timeless. I think I will be able to rewatch this even 10 years later. The ML is a jerk in the beginning, but he really grows on you. I love the development of the characters and the story. It captivated me from the beginning until the end. I rarely watch Taiwanese dramas, but I felt there is something so raw and real in the ones that I've seen so far. The actors and actresses impressed me. I definitely recommend this drama to anyone who loves a heartfelt story of love and family. Was this review helpful to you?
