slow paced with lots of miscommunication between lead couple
This one started out good but ended up going down hill for me. I was interested in the storyline and had continued to watch because I wanted to see what happened when everything about Dongjus mother came out. it was slow paced and drawn out with lots of miscommunications. Suwans actions never seemed to make sense to me and by the time it was over I didn’t really feel connected to the characters or cared if they found their way to one another. I did think the storyline between Haeju and Teddy was cute. I also have a friend who really liked this one but it didn’t work out for me.Was this review helpful to you?

Koo Hye Sun puts in a good performance. I'm not lying. Honest
I'm a bit of a Koo Hye Sun apologist when it comes to her acting but I thought she was really good at this. She tends to get head strong, tomboyish characters and she is really good in that type casted role. Her chemistry with Lee Sang Yoon was solid. Perhaps not sexually but just them interacting with each other felt natural and normal. I can totally buy these two being a couple. Lee Sang Yoon as Park Dong Joo was really good. His natural charisma and likability allowed me to connect instantly. The story was touching and sad in parts. Angel Eyes showed their history almost perfectly, to the point a lot of people would've prefered more of it. Of course, it's not actually perfect as you do get “coincidences” such as the lost letter *eye roll* and etc. I also don't think they established a good time line for the past events. When Dong Joo met Jae Beom, when they got close, when they went to the states, etc. Initially we're shown Dong Joo and his Sister going to the States right away for surgery. But then later, it's said Jae Beom helps send him, or they come back and he sends them to the US again? It's not very clear. Either way, the present day story is done well. Although I feel for Kang Ji Woon’s character, he could've been left out entirely. It made things a little messy but when it was all said and done, I didn't have any reservations about Soo Wan going to Dong Joo. I think the side plots were cute with Fireman Gi and his relationship with his son and his younger colleague. That family dynamic was wonderful. And that only got better with the inclusion of Elle. The eventual split was actually earned, unlike a lot of romance dramas that use it to pad out the run time but it still was the worst aspect of the drama as a whole. The next time I watch this, I'll likely skip those episodes entirely.

Too slow to endure 20 episodes
First 2 episodes were fast paced. After that it was nothing but dragging the same thing over and over again. Felt like quiting it altogether but forwarded many scenes after 7-8 episodes. Honestly it's not worth watching and 20 episodes seem very long. Flashbacks occur every now and then telling the same thing over a nd over again. I yawned my way to complete this. Totally avoidable.Another thing that irked me was the fact that both the main characters tend to stay away or hard to get from the other main character at different point of time. One time is a charm, but the same thing becomes irritating if the same trick is shown many times.

- Is it wrong of me to like the acting of the younger cast more than the adult cast? As I watched this drama, I constantly had this question, and I'm sure that a lot of people who have watched this will feel the same way.
Story:
- At first glance/watch, the story did appeal to me in a certain way. But after the first few episodes, I was able to pretty much figure the whole plot out and what was going to happen next. Also, the drama consistently went back and forth on the past vs. the present, and that just got annoying after a while. The overall plot seems to be dragged out way too much. So in the end, very predictable and cheesy.
Acting/Cast:
- Honestly, I gave the rating at that number due to the younger cast. If it was based on just the adult cast, it would've been lower. In general, the younger did a great job portraying the scenes a lot better, even if there were little scenes that involved them. The adult cast, on the other hand, felt very monotone to me, so I really don't have much to say in regards to that.
Music:
- The music choices and OSTs were well-done. At times, there were moments where I enjoyed the music more than the drama. But the thing is that's not how it works. In dramas, OSTs are supposed to add more depth and make the audience feel something in that scene/moment, but this drama made me feel nothing. Mainly, it had a lot to do with the acting. When the scenes are quite monotone, the audience doesn't get the chance to be fully immersed at that moment.
Rewatch Value:
- Honestly, I would not watch this drama again. As much as I appreciate the younger cast and the OSTs, the slow progression and poor acting made me lost interest at an early stage.
* You may ask, "If you dislike the drama that much, then why didn't you drop it?."
- I just hate it when I have invested so much time into a drama, and I suddenly have to drop it. I rather finish it and give my full opinion after seeing and analyzing everything.

Superb Acting for the Younger Cast!!! Nam Jihyun and Kang Ha Neul chemistry
I know my review was a decade late lols, but after watching this drama this year I can say that the younger cast made me feel to watched this drama. Nam jihyun and Kang Haneul portrays their role amazingly, how I wished i would talk to the director not to replaced them and still make them as the older soo wan and dong joo.Overall the drama, makes my heart flutter , with lots unfortunate events such as the death of dong joo mother and it really breaks my heart. Kang Ha neul is such a heartthrob and Nam Jihyun is sooooooo pretty. They nailed the role of their innocent love.
I wish Kang Ha neul will be paired again with Nam Jihyun because they have UNDENIABLE CHEMISTRY.

Loved it
This was the show that made me realize that my taste in k-dramas is quite different from majority of the users here.Maybe because my show count was not so massive I didn't find too many cheesy scenes and it felt fresh.
The story grabbed me and it was interesting until the end.
The cast was really good even though that I liked the young version cast a little better, nonetheless it was a good casting choice.
There were some questionable choice made but I keep going back and rewatching it... so it's a win for me.
So I would highly recommend it, but maybe check my list to see if my taste matches yours before you do so.
