pretty decent backgrounds, voices,and surrounding
acting is normal not many little parts taken from manga which i totally understand for a movie running time
supoorting cast is also good
When you thought Onoda would be THAT bitch but he turns out to be supportive instead.
plot was amazing not regular shounen ai ,Even when you've watched it before the tension and fear of something going wrong and shit hitting the fan will always remain.
Tbh tho this is one instance where changing the way he thinks is undoubtedly far healthier. becoz the looks were really natural ..shima kun have done pretty good job with his poker face all the time and little dark circles and tension of japanese society can be seen through his expressions
Honestly Shima...I would fight your ex.
I feel so blessed when I watch this movie like *sigh of satisfaction* i m sucker for bl mangas especially shounen ai becoz of their development which i can be totally seen in this movie.

was it good or was it not?
First of all let me start with the part where I have read the manga and watched the moviethe story is good and the acting cast was actually close to look like the characters from the manga, by saying that I mean it was a fantastic casting crew they had since I got the same feeling from reading the manga and watching the movie
by saying that I would refere to the scene where "Shima" looks at the pack at his table and instant begins to cry since his minds actually was filled with chaos and that's what I call great casting/acting
I would totally recommend this movie since I have deep feelings connected to this movie ??
AND YES I recommend the manga too

I knew where I was getting into in terms of production value, considering it's a 2014 jmovie with a mlm subject matter based on a manga with actors that I knew from indie dramas or tokusatsus. When you've been around jdramas for a while, you kind of know what you can expect when you line all those things up. And yes, production value isn't the greatest and the direction had some very strange choices in terms of focus, zooms, framing and other things like that.
But the story and the performances are pretty good. I mean, it can get cheesy here and there, but it's actually pretty heartfelt and honest, and also focused on an adult relationship, with all that implies. It doesn't get unnecessary interruptions for shock value or easy dramatic flare, it deals with the two characters, their relationship, fears and worries and develops that throughout the movie. Maybe in a drama's length, they could have had more room to fit other nuances, but I thought it was pretty well balanced and overall well organized.
I'm really surprised that for a 2014 movie, they deal with the subject matter more openly, albeit being a bl adaptation with what that implies. They do talk about aspects of bullying, societal expectations, family and children, even if sometimes in a way that isn't as deep as other dramas that were to come years after, it's still done in a pretty interesting way for something of this kind, especially considering the climax of the storyline has to do with these things and with personal fears and values rather than external complications, as most romantic dramas (of any type of relationship) do.
After watching the movie, I read the manga, and I think that, surprisingly, the movie handled some things in a better way. The manga has a side relationship, which is very interesting in its own right but there wasn't room for it here, but when it comes to how subjects are portrayed, I think the movie did a good job of updating the narrative to a more inclusive lgbtq+ mindset instead of keeping some of the "bl" tropes that could make it problematic.
All in all, it was a pretty interesting and heartwarming movie, which focuses on an adult relationship, and the story for me was interesting enough to overlook all the things that may have distracted in terms of low budget or director choices.

bittersweet <3
I tend to love movies with a vibe like this, like a "laid-back" drama and the cinematography made it even better.Story: It made me quite sad. I just felt for Shima, we've all had that super lonely feeling you know?
Acting/Cast: They did phenomenal, it was so natural and it was never a moment that chemistry went away.
Music: I didn't really notice the music at first, but It was probably alright.
Rewatch Value: I've rewatched it, but I don't like the empty feeling it gives me. Even if it does have that happy ending, it still makes me gloomy.
Overall: You should watch it!

The only thing that might add rewatch value, if you didn't notice it the first time, is the way they used lights and colors. Shima is consistently in and surrounded by monotonous colors and darkness. Meanwhile, whenever Togawa is in the scene, there's color and light coming through. Sometimes his color/light will affect Shima on the screen. Sometimes they look like theyre almost embodying two different spaces, even while being right beside each other. It's beautiful visual symbolism. And something the film did spectacularly well.

To start off with, I found it enjoyable to watch. That’s where that ends. On the contrary it was very awkward to watch at the same time, although I’m used to watching films where there is obviously less awkwardness between the main characters that are in love, I can’t help but squirm every time they kiss. Not in a good way either, I must say if their acting was directed to be so, then ok fair enough. I just found anytime they did anything considered intimate between ‘lovers’ awkward and not really ‘wooing’ me.
Not very enthused to say that I would disagree with anyone who says ‘you could see the raw emotions that the actors presented for the characters’, it was very naturalistic. Therefore I’m able to deduce that the style is realism or supposedly close to realism. To be frank I liked it, it wasn’t something that would evoke emotion out of me due to the body language of the actors that completely throw me off from actually feeling emotionally connected to those characters. I could rant it out, but I’ll wrap this up really quick.
It is an good flim to watch and quite enjoyable in ways that’s are cute and all, very sweet moments between the two that make you go ‘awe’.

but what i loved more was the fact that he wasn't the typical ML - he didn't cater to his partner, just cause he was the Seme so he was supposed to let the uke use him as a psychological punching-bag to vent all the wrong's he has suffered up to this point in life. that not the type of relationship i like or am looking for in the romance genre (straight or gay) so loved that even if he was the pursuer and pushed and prodded Shima into admitting his attraction, let alone him being gay. he also made him confront his demon's and didn't go over board and left Shima to figure out what he wanted at the end.
personally i didn't like Onoda, yeah he had good intentions - but i felt that he was too intrusive in a relationship he had no part in. but that's the minus in getting involved in ur work-place, there no boundaries and everyone in the workplace makes it their business to keep updated in the couple life - so was kinda shocked that Shima having been burnt once, still couldn't distance himself from Togawa - but u can't help who u r attracted too so i didn't blame him. but it was plain to the eye to see and kinda funny.
really enjoyed this and really connected with the character's and this for sure a rewatch and happily recommend to all

Such a great movie. And really good story. ?
So i have wanting to watch this movie for a very long time and today, i found it where i got watch (watched it on b4watch btw) and this movie so freaking good. Even if there is not yet romance, fake kisses, not much chemistry and skinskip, ost and etc. I still freaking loved this movie. I would definitely rewatch this. Because after all this movie was great. Recently i hage been watching movies and all are sad endings so this made me happy and yet emotional because it felt like i havent seen happy ending in 10 years. If you wanna watch this movie, then ill say a DEFINITE YES. Yes. yes. Giving a try will be NO REGRET. Giving it a try will be really great and this is really enjoyable. Because there are cute moments, difficult moments, and good moments. Overall i give it a 8/10 or a 8.5/10 because ofc there are lots of things missing. The acting was great too. So its not a bad movie.Idk if anyone is even reading this, u can watch this movie for yourself! U will really like it and its not that bad. And i love u! Take care and happy new year 2024! Bye-bye 2023♡

I think this movie is good, kousuke yonehara act very well. The way he expose the sadness of character make me want to watch this film over and over especially the scene they brake up Also I like the r-18 scene too but not with that music =)))) because I can not hear the breath of them when they have seg and this make that scene kinda fake through ?

Old-but gold-office BL has a quiet and sad ambience
I'm always a fan of media that take a realistic approach into queer couple's relationship and this movie is made for me. This old-but gold-office BL has a quiet and sad ambience about how 2 people with their own past heal and love eo.It's kinda like a sadder and reserve version of Old Fashion Cupcake. Togawa is the boss who cares for his ppl while Shima is the subordinate with a broken heart due to the past with his ex. He feels insecured and he hurts both himself and Togawa. But I'm glad finally they worked it out.
I actually really like this one. The movie is a good adaptation considering its 5-day filming period with only $5 budget. The only problem i have with it is the camera angles, they wasted so many valueable scenes with those far and cornered angles.
