The Land of Happiness, starring Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Jae Myung and the late actor Lee Sun Kyun, dropped fresh teasers.
The Land of Happiness tells the story of lawyer Jung In Hoo (Jo Jung Suk) struggling to save Park Tae Joo (Lee Sun Kyun), whose life hangs on the verdict in the trial of the October 26, 1979 presidential assassination case.
The text on the posters reads, "The worst political trial in South Korean history begins." They hint how Lawyer Jung In Hoo (Jo Jung Suk), the Executive Secretary to the Chief of Intelligence Park Tae Joo (Lee Sun Kyun), and Jeon Sang Doo (Yoo Jae Myung), the head of the joint investigation unit, are all involved in the trial.
Jung In Hoo angrily asks, "What's the point of a trial if this is how it's going to be?" Struggling against the guard restraining him, his determination to fight for a fair trial is palpable.
Park Tae Joo wears a sombre expression. He says, "You want me to sell out the chief so I can survive?"
Whereas, Jeon Sang Doo's fierce gaze hints at his ambition. The text reads, "No matter what you do, that guy will die."
The teaser portrays how Jung In Hoo fights vehemently to save Park Tae Joo, who was implicated in the presidential assassination unjustly. He says, "The court is not for deciding who is right and who is wrong; it is for deciding who will win and who will lose."
Whereas Jeon Sang Doo watches the trial in real-time from a secret room and manipulates the trial's outcome according to his will, piquing curiosity about the verdict of South Korea's worst political trial.
The Land of Happiness is set to premiere on August 14. Watch the teaser here.
