tvN's much-awaited K-drama Love Next Door has confirmed its premiere date for August 17.
Love Next Door tells the story of Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min) and her mom's friend's son Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In). The duo, being childhood friends, know each other's dark pasts and reunite years later.
The K-drama's production team dropped stills from the script reading session, which was attended by director Yoo Je Won (The King: Eternal Monarch, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Crash Course in Romance), writer Shin Ha Eun (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha), and actors Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, Kim Ji Eun, Yun Ji On, Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Jang Young Nam, Lee Seung Joon, Jun Suk Ho, Kim Geum Soon, Han Ye Ju, Lee Seung Hyub, and Shim So Young.
Jung Hae In (Snowdrop, D.P., While You Were Sleeping) plays Choi Seung Hyo, a perfect man blessed with everything from looks to personality and skills. He is a young architect, who is also the CEO of the architecture atelier "In". Despite seeming to have lived a perfect life, there are past moments he wants to erase.
Jung So Min (Alchemy of Souls, Soul Mechanic) plays Bae Seok Ryu, who always bagged first place in school. Her passion landed her a job at a renowned company, where she worked diligently as a project manager. But, one day, she quit her job and has remained unemployed since then. Bae Seok Ryu is a little broken on the inside and, now, dreams of rebooting her life.
Kim Ji Eun (One Dollar Lawyer, Again My Life, Strangers from Hell) plays Jung Mo Eum, a passionate paramedic who believes the hero's DNA flows in her body. She is one of the three musketeers of the same age who knows Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu's dark history better than anyone else.
Yun Ji On (Tomorrow, Memorist, Jirisan) comes as Kang Dan Ho, a social affairs reporter, who is warm-hearted, easy-going, and has strong convictions and a sense of responsibility. Kang Dan Ho moves next door to Jung Mo Eum.
Park Ji Young (Revenant, The Red Sleeve) plays Na Mi Suk, Bae Seok Ryu's mother who deeply cares for her daughter despite her gruff and stern demeanor.
Jo Han Chul (Gyeongseong Creature, Weak Hero Class 1, Reborn Rich, The Law Cafe, Vincenzo) plays Bae Geun Sik, Bae Seok Ryu's father, who runs a small snack bar in the neighborhood. He dotes on his daughter and is sometimes dependable and sometimes pitiful.
Jang Young Nam (Captivating the King, Like Flowers in Sand, Crash Course in Romance, The Devil Judge, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, Pinocchio) comes as Seo Hye Suk, Choi Seung Hyo's mother, and Na Mi Suk's longtime friend. She is an expert on Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and loves her work.
Lee Seung Joon (Castaway Diva, Behind Your Touch, Doom at Your Service, He Is Psychometric) portrays Choi Gyeong Jong, a professor of emergency medicine and Choi Seung Hyo's father. Beyond his stern and reserved demeanor, he deeply loves his family.
Jun Seok Ho (Blood Free, Hyena, Kingdom) plays Yun Myeong Woo, Choi Seung Hyo's senior from college and co-CEO of "In".
Kim Geum Soon (The Atypical Family, The Worst of Evil, Bad Prosecutor) takes on the role of Do Jae Suk, the problem solver of the neighborhood and Jung Mo Eum's mother, who gathers together with Na Mi Suk and Seo Hye Suk.
Han Ye Ju (When the Camellia Blooms) portrays Bang In Suk, who has a lot of anger.
Lee Seung Hyub (Lovely Runner) transforms into Bae Dong Jin, Seok Ryu's younger brother who dreams of becoming a health trainer.
Rising star Shim So Young plays Lee Na Yun, an employee at the architecture atelier "In" who likes Choi Seung Hyo.
