According to the integrated computer network of movie theater admission tickets of the Korean Film Council, as of the morning of July 12, the film Escape has surpassed 1 million viewers in just ten days since its release. The K-movie has attracted approximately 1,009,042 moviegoers.
Upon its release, Escape garnered positive responses and has been dominating the box office charts since July 8.
People have left comments, saying, "I watched Escape twice. It felt different the first time and the second time, and the [movie] immerses really well" and "I felt Lee Je Hoon's sincerity in his acting, so I was rooting for him and watched with tension until the end."
The K-movie has also recorded a balanced distribution of viewers across age groups from 20 to 50, according to CGV's ticket sales data.
Escape follows Sergeant Lim Kyu Nam (Lee Je Hoon) of North Korea, planning to escape to the South, and State Security Department Major Ri Hyeon Sang (Koo Kyo Hwan) trying to stop him.
