Lee Jong Suk will reportedly be the male lead of Shin Min Ah in the upcoming K-drama The Remarried Empress.

On December 10, various media insiders shared that Lee Jong Suk has been picked to play the male lead in the upcoming web novel-based K-drama The Remarried Empress

Lee Jong Suk's agency Ace Factory responded to the casting news. According to them, "The Remarried Empress is one of the projects offered to the actor. Nothing has been decided yet."

If Lee Jong Suk confirms his casting, he will work alongside actress Shin Min Ah who first got the offer to lead the K-drama.

This will possibly be Lee Jong Suk's second upcoming K-drama. The actor will also lead the tvN series Seocho-dong with Mun Ka Young, Kang Yoo Seok, Ryu Hye Young, and Im Sung Jae.

This will also possibly be the grand comeback of Lee Jong Suk to the fantasy genre. The actor last starred in a 2016 fantasy K-drama.

The Remarried Empress will focus on the life of the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire named Navier. She decided to divorce her emperor husband after finding out that he wanted to make his mistress an empress. She will then look for an opportunity to be an empress elsewhere.

Shin Min Ah got the offer to portray the role of Navier. Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk got the offer to star as Heinrich Alex Laszlo. He is the prince and heir of the Western Kingdom. He has the same economic and national power as the Eastern Empire. He fell in love with Navier and decided to marry her after ascending to the throne.

There is no official confirmation yet on the broadcast channel and airing date of The Remarried Empress.
