"Maestra", Starring Lee Young Ae, Commences Filming

The upcoming mystery thriller Maestra has reportedly commenced filming. Actress Lee Young Ae was confirmed to be cast in the K-drama last November. 

Maestra is the story of Cha Se Eum (Lee Young Ae), a violinist-turned-conductor. After following her passion she now stands with a successful career life. But, unbeknownst to others she harbours a secret that can turn her life upside down. She encounters mysterious happenings taking place within her orchestra and decides to look into the matter to uncover the truth. 

Maestra is the remake of the French drama Philharmonia, released in 2019.

It is reported that the veteran actress Lee Young Ae toiled to immerse herself and fit in the role of the conductor who leads the orchestra, thereby, hinting to anticipate and expect nuanced acting from the actress in the upcoming drama. 

Maestra held its first group script reading session at the end of last month. After the session, the production team commenced filming. Most probably, the mystery K-drama will be released in the second half of this year at the earliest and early next year at the latest, as scheduled by tvN.

The show also casts Hwang Bo Reum Byeol in the lead role of Lee Roo Na. More details are yet to be disclosed about her character. The tvN drama is directed by Kim Jung Kwon.
