Director Yeon Sang Ho's drama Parasyte: The Grey will receive the Series Film Award at the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN).
Parasyte: The Grey is a Netflix original series that portrays the conflict between humans and mysterious parasites that fall from space, create their own forces using humans as hosts, and unleash chaos. The K-drama is based on a Japanese manga series, Kiseijuu, by Iwaaki Hitoshi. It stars Jeon So Nee, Koo Kyo Hwan, and Lee Jung Hyun in the lead roles.
On June 20, several local media outlets reported that the Netflix original Parasyte: The Grey has been selected as the recipient of the Series Film Award at the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN).
Director Yeon Sang Ho, as well as Byun Seung Min, CEO of the production company Climax Studio, and Yang Yoo Min, CEO of the production company Wow Point, will accept the award.
BIFAN instituted the Series Film Award in its 26th edition (2022). The award aims to redefine cinema in light of the extraordinary changes in the media landscape and highlight the new future of the industry. Each year, an exceptional work leading the wave of change is selected as the award recipient. The first award was given to Squid Game, followed by D.P.
The 28th edition of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival will be held in various locations around Bucheon from July 4-14.
