He has a negative personality, often responding brusquely to Yaeko and making immature remarks. On the other hand, he knows various pranks and shows a mischievous side by imparting them to Yaeko.
He has a painful past of abandoning a close friend during a tsunami disaster and escaping alone, and since then, he often gazes sadly at the sea from the breakwater.
