Kammiya:

I've heard great things about Meet yourself though I haven't watched it yet. It's from the same screenwriter of Go ahead.

I’ve watched it, it’s good. But it’s not my favorite. For Chinese dramas that have a modern setting my favorites are: hidden love, go ahead, road home, go go squid, falling into your smile, you are my glory, and reset. I’ve watched all of these at least twice. Reset I haven’t simply because I just watched for the first time but I will eventually lol

I liked Road home but hated Hidden love lol  (love the novel and hated adaptation)

Actually one of my favorites lately is Love me, love my voice, just because is a no-drama drama and the music is excellent, I also liked Forever and ever.

Even though I absolutely love Go ahead, I actually prefer Chinese drama for it's simplicity and no angst, Korean drama just like to put twists and turns for the sake of it, also Chinese dramas rarely use cliffhangers and the release of chapters is faster.

 Xinai Williams:

what Modern Chinese dramas do you recommend?

besides go ahead, I liked very few.

i love every cdrama because i don't like lighthearted yankee flavor. I can recommend Gank your heart, The oath of love, You are my glory, The bond ( same vibes of Go Ahead), Legally romance, Under the skin, Begin again, Meet yourself, Will love in spring, Angels fall sometimes

Moonlight, it was pretty entertaining

I put it on hold but I’ll continue because of this comment and the fact that they are co stars again

 Chinese Empress:
But the worst is FL, so sorry almost transgender, so princess it's nonsense. A girl growing up in a world of men, without any female figure and friend, how can she be so sissy princess? Everyone is so strange and abnormal, like they are so happy without any tears, any trauma, any melancholy or sadness.

I think we may be watching two different shows. The kids may be good at hiding their tears behind fighting with each other and repressing them but there was a gut wrenching scene between Hae Jun and his adoptive Dad - there have been several. And sad people often hide their sadness behind a facade of being too cool to care, or being too happy. Sometimes, acting can be a little subtle, which I prefer to crying bouts all the time.

And I don't know what you mean by "FL, so sorry almost transgender, so princess it's nonsense. A girl growing up in a world of men, without any female figure and friend, how can she be so sissy princess?" Is transgender supposed to be an insult now? Or is sissy princess the insult? Are you complaining that as a girl, she's acting like a girl?

 Chinese Empress:

the series is an adaptation of Go Ahead, which is warmth, sorrow, sadness, trauma, family bonds, and NOT this trashy happy romance comedy they are doing with actors lacking skills.
So please, avoid inventing lies and excuses no one trusts.

If you don't like it, just stop watching and trashing it. Other people have a right to like it, even if you don't.

If you look at their profile, you'll understand why they're being so toxic. Not worth arguing with them.

 Kammiya:
they are making Sanha actually display love or his mom despite her treating him even worse than the original version, he also loves his sister for the only reason that is his sister.

Even though San Ha explained his reasoning to his Dad, you still didn't get why he went to help his Mom and little sister out? That he would regret it if something happens (meaning the mom kills herself as she had attempted suicide twice already).

And "he also loves his sister for the only reason that is his sister" is a good enough reason for most people in the world to care about someone, yet you disparage him. Do you not have siblings? I have 8. I didn't grow up with the youngest since he's 24 years younger and I was already living on my own. Yet, I love him as much as all my other siblings, want to spend time with him,  and want to know what's happening in his life. Oh, and he's my stepmother's kid. I don't like her one bit.

Thanks. You're probably right. I'll stop. I should recognize when it's a lost cause.

I tried being nice, but this was the weirdest comment section I've ever been in. Ppl have an agenda. Just no point. Don't let them spoil your peace.

 Have a good one.

Why are you so angry?

He is supposed to help his mom out of FILIAL PIETY not love. As filial piety is a huge part of asian culture. In this drama he takes care of his mom because he cares about her. They added scenes just for that reason.

The character of Sanha/LingXiao is supposed to be a broken kid with relationship issues, his mom abandoned him and his dependence for his mom transfered to JianJian the moment his mother "gave him away". In Go ahead he clearly doesn't want to have a relationship with them but eventually does out of responsibility and with time he develops a relationship with his sister.

Also good for you you love your siblings.

Look, I'm not going to change my mind, and this thread is to discuss the original work vs FBC. If you absolutely love FBC and all the changes they did to the story, good for you! I applaud that you like it! So if don't get what I'm trying to say, then you don't get it, let's move on.

You're right, I'll stop. I say he didn't want to "regret." You say that's love. We're using two different dictionaries.

Just focus on two main leads and skip others, Yu Shu Xin and Ding Yu Xi are the only entertaining parts of the drama

Go Ahead itself felt dragged around episode 20, there are many unnecessary plots.

Tbh i hope FbC have better plot and storyline in adult timeline, but seeing how they presenting episode 9-10 i have no hope anymore. I saw peoples who didn't watch Go Ahead have mixed reaction about episode 9-10, some think it rushed, another think it just okay.

But i'm sure, even if you didn't see the og, the time jump is rushed. So many peoples throw question how Ju-Won set her own shop? Sure future is a mystery, but still there is moment in time when we make decision that affected our futures. That moment is not present in FbC, there is no moment serve as a bridge why Ju-Won decide to set her cake shop, or why Park Dal chose to be a lawyer.

I think there is a line from Ju-Won's dad, when them both in the restaurant kitchen. He said to Ju-Won about active filial piety, that she should go finding something she love to do and enjoying life. But i don't think it strong enough as a base motives for Ju-Won to decide to make cake in the future.
