~ Compilation of Chen Zheyuan's thoughts on "The White Olive Tree" ~

                                                                                                                                                                                                      [Use dark mode]

Chen Zheyuan talking about "The White Olive Tree" :

Currently I'm filming the drama "The White Olive Tree". It's a very romantic story and it's romance
is not just the romance of the love story
between our  Male and Female leads.
We are a group of relatively young people living
in a war-torn country called "Dongguo"
in our drama, and what we young people
are doing is also very romantic.
This story is romantic because it tells the story
of a group of young people who work hard
for something that they know they has a
high probability of no results or rewards.
And it's very likely that it won't make
any sense but they still have to  work hard
             and make sacrifices without hesitation.
That's one of the things make me feel romantic.

Chen Zheyuan describing "The White Olive Tree" in 5 words :

Good, Lit, Heart tormenting, Cool Touching

Chen Zheyuan's comment under his Weibo post :

“A group of ordinary people, doing a romantic thing.”

Chen Zheyuan on his character "Li Zan" :

"He’s a really really nice person, his kindness might not be understood/encountered by everyone in reality, he’s a very kind person. He would sacrifice a lot of his own things for others and carry a lot of burden on his own. My heart aches for him when I'm acting, I think he’s too tired at some times and I hope he’ll be more happy and take things easy but he’s that much of a good person. Still, hope everyone will like him when you watch the drama."

Chen Zheyuan :

Whenever he watches the story and character, he’d feel distant with it cause he thinks everything there is too beautiful.

Chen Zheyuan talking about "The White Olive Tree" on Sweet Tasks

? :  We also saw that Chen Zheyuan recently starred in a new drama "The White Olive Tree", then we'd like to ask Chen Zheyuan, when trying out this theme and this role, did you encounter any challenges?

⭕ :  At the time of initially getting involved with this drama, the biggest challenge encountered especially at the beginning was the character's image. Previously, I may have mostly played more youthful roles, But suddenly, I had to portray "Li Zan", who is a soldier in the original work, So he possesses the ability to make people feel reassured, So he himself is definitely very meticulous in his thoughts and very steady, then, he can handle whatever matters he encounters with a sense of being in control.  Also, being a soldier, he requires that kind of military demeanour and then he's a character who gives a sense of strength. So, at the beginning, I wondered how I could approach portraying him, Because previously, I had never tried cutting my hair short, it was always long. In terms of appearance, quite a few changes were made. I want to lean towards that direction.

? : It's also a new attempt.

⭕ :  Right, because I also don't know if it look good after cutting. What if it doesn't look good or something like that.

? : But we have already seen the reuters, still very handsome. Very handsome, really very handsome.

? : Looking forward to it.

⭕ :  Thank you (3x).

? :  It feels like your current dressing style seems to have also changed a bit because of playing this role.

⭕ :  Can (3x). Because for the past three to four months, you have consistently been in the mindset of that character, living according to his state and thoughts. Then, you might have some daily behaviours or, your attitude to go through some changes.

I really like what you compiled, but your choice of type colors unfortunately hurts the eyes and some parts are barely legible. I'd suggest you use contrasting colors with the Background option instead and bold type.

okk

then i'll edit it when i'll get some time

No hurry, You're only starting on DNAD?   Enjoy! I finished it a week or so ago, and liked it. The villains are remarkable, as is also Nie Yuan (who brought his young daughter - like Yuan brought his Liu Yi perhaps? )

Since it looks like we shall have to wait a while still before being able to tackle TWOT, I will perhaps, at last, dive into the e-novel (only skimmed some chapters hitherto) in between taking in other dramas.

i've watched half of the eps of dnad...  and i'm loving it. the action scenes and especially the comedy in between the serious scenes are something i love. yes that lil girl is nie yuan's real daughter and liu yi is zheyuan's cat, also a zan (the dog from twot) is also adopted by zheyuan (ig u know?)

the novel is really good... hope you'll like it~ happy reading!!

Yes I've noticed the dog a-zan ;  he was still a puppy on set of filming of TWOT, isn't it? and that's when and where he got it from?  do you know more about its story, its breed, and how CZY decided to adopt it, for good or temporarily ? The playing with water and later "birthday" videos were funny, but how does Liu Yi get along with it?  CZY  is shown still driving to sets petting his cat in his car, if I am not mistaken, he also had the dog with him on one video but not together with the cat  :)

https://x.com/chenzheyuanzi/status/1819898751043125635 - here's the full story on how he decided to adopt a zan

and a zan is currently being raised by his mother in his shenzhen's home... sadly i don't know about liu yi...

Thank you! Yes I had read and seen videos about his being very afraid of dogs, even of Zhao Lusi's well behaved pet Doudou (偷偷, "secret")/Doe in English dachshund when they were filming Hidden Love in Xiamen. She dumped Doudou into his arms a few times to help him overcome his phobia !

So I thought it must not have been altogether easy for him to deal with another dog on set of TWOT.  But less stressful for him than before, when he was an exclusive "cat person", somewhat like Xu Kai, who carries treats for stray cats wherever he goes and has three at home; CZY and XK are from same city and apparently remembered each other from primary school, and XK has a good friend who can "house sit" his cats when he can't bring them along because of work, so perhaps CZY has help too, besides staff, to take care of Liu Yi. But there have been many videos of him with his cat (most recent, taking it along in his car on  a video posted Oct.1), grooming it, feeding it, over the years, and also one video that showed him taking care of a wounded stray cat. Liu Yi according to reports was a stray which decided to stick with CZY and reciprocally.

I know Rosy helps with an abandoned and stray dog shelter, so wondered if she had a hand too in the A-zan adoption and if, like some of Rosy's menagerie, it was a dog in wait of finding suitable and life long adoption. She routinely keeps a few "other" dogs together with her own "family ones" in Chengdu, in her family (huge) apartment, this way.   Doudou is presently the one she is seen most with ; it was feted when she brought it to Milan at the Versace show.  She lost I think two of her most loved pet dogs during the covid lockdowns and mourned them. She also has two cats, one, called RouRou ("soft"), is a big white female cat resembling CZY's Liu Yi,  and RouRou had kittens a year or more ago. The other cat is a black one, not seen as often. The cats and dogs don't appear together in the social media videos.

But I am not camping out on anyone's social media ;) so I usually only check once in a while for some of those whom I am more or less following the career of.  Sometimes also checking the fan groups on FB and chenzheyanzi or Apricity on X.  Still, that post you kept track of did not come to my attention before.

It sure is a sweet explanation about the reasons why Chen Zheyuan (reluctantly at first) may have adopted it. Now he also would have had to convince his mom that this was a possible "family pet" addition, if he can't take care of it at all times like Rosy's Doudou or Liu Yuning's Daimi or Z.Tao's Ace (Z.Tao handed over his older toy dog Kandy to his mom, so sons giving a pet to mom is not that uncommon either).

he isn't afraid of dogs lol... he once said that he's not afraid of dogs or pets, it's just his quick response...
