I am going through this awkward moments again :( I just finished Flower Boy Next Door and Time Between Dog and Wolf: Two great dramas. Now, I have to distract myself by starting another drama although it won't be easy *sigh*
How I deal with drama sickness: watching a bunch of fan-made MV's of the drama I just finished until I feel like I can finally move on. Oh yeah, and listening to the OST over and over again.
Glad I'm not alone in this feeling. Thought it was just me that had these overwhelming feelings of sadness saying goodbye to characters and stories I've fallen in love with. I actually feel anxious when starting that last episode. This is from a guy that loves K-drama and sometimes wonders if he is to in touch with his feminine side. :). Seriously, I will set there for the longest time replaying the drama in my head feeling lost and slightly depressed. That's with a happy ending. You can imagine my angst after a drama with a sad ending. "49 Days" is a good example, I was stunned how it turned out for our leading lady after all she had overcome. I think I moped around for at least two days after that one. The way I handle it is to usually get right back on the horse and scour DramaFever for my next fix. I'll usually look for one that goes in a different direction genre wise than the one just watched. OR I will look for another vehicle starring some of the same actors just to stay connected to them all over again. Thanks for reading my post.....that was a bit cathartic!
This is my reaction when I finish anime. I tend to feel this pit in my stomach with nostalgic longing for something. Dramasickness hasn't really started to inflict me yet
usually an excellent drama will make me jsut think how amazing it was. and htanks for the ride and definitely wish there was more at times a not so excellent drama might sometimes end abruptly and cause a little bit of angst, and thinking there REALLY should have been more its slightly different but from that u can kinda tell whether its a masterclass or not
Maou :( I didn't want it to end.
I just saw the movie special for Rich Man Poor Woman. I'm so depressed now. I love this couple. Can the writers just come up a new drama dedicated to this couple? They're so adorable.
Yup, it happens all the time but after picking up a new drama, that feeling goes away.
...when you find youself having an actual, life-like crush on one character. I mean, it's like you actually miss him/her/them! Come on, it happened at least once to each of us !
yes it happens all the time and then ...you have to find another drama to watch...then the process just starts all over again after that drama ends too
Oh this empty feeling....I HATE IT!! and it's so much worse if you fall in love with a character (and that happens quite often to me) . ;)
This has been quite a life cycle for me. Every time I finished watching a drama, my mind would be blank for a couple of minutes(hours after watching Ghost) then I would go over to Google and find a drama similar to the one I finished. This can last for a month, or even eternity @_@, and would make me watch a drama's first episode to see if it would attract me. If it does... I'll finish it, then do the same thing.
the worst was the end of city hunter, still i don't understand the end ;(
I get "drama sickness" after most dramas I watch. It usually lasts for a while if I feel a series finale was inconclusive or could've been better or had some loose ends (Dream High, God of Study, Baker King, IRIS). If it concludes really well, I usually only feel it for about the rest of the day (Secret Garden, Incarnation of Money, Flower Boy Next Door). I usually just start a new drama if I'm feeling drama sickness.
It's back again, that moment of missing a drama; I finished Voice and it was so good.
