Kidnap - episode 9

This episode was all sweetness and as a single person I felt attacked lol

I appreciate how sweet moment filled this episode is considering how intense the last two episodes were. I enjoy when series have this type of episode for the audience to just enjoy the couples and get all the feels. It feels like a mini break from all the conflict.

I enjoyed this episode and look forward to the next.

I do say that this made me really want to rewatch the original because LITA is so good and iconic.

LITA & LITA-J

I felt the same! I actually rewatched the first bit of EP 1 (Thai)  and realized how much fun the uni scene with Rain and Sky is. Sky's expressions are priceless and Rain is just too cute. They have chemistry too. There was little interaction btw Rei and Kai during their uni scene. I know, I know, I'm comparing...

However, based on the first ep. it's not like they made it their own cuz the dialogue/script is almost a copy. Not totally, but very close.  And even with a ton of editing, it's basically close to the same overall.

I think that makes it even more of a challenge NOT to compare the two.

Updates:

I'm interested in Match Play starting Nov 7...but I can't find an MDL page. It's SK so wouldn't there be one by now, so close to D-day?

LITA JP Ep 1 - Tbh, I quite enjoyed episode 1. I don't if it's because I generally enjoy japanese BL's and Japanese slapstick humor or if it's because of the cast lol. Arashi and Rei are totally my style. I LOVED looking at them!

Shoma is drool worthy and Rei is such a cute bean❤️ Im looking forward to EP 2!

Finally got the chance to watch this week's ep 5 of Fourever You and ep 9 of Kidnap.

Okay, so FY won me over in this episode... FINALLY. It took forever, no pun, to get to this point in the series. The previous episodes weren't completely trash or anything, but there was a lot that was making it a struggle to connect with it early on and get into it(stuff I already mentioned several times in previous weeks that I won't hammer on  again). This episode was so good throughout it, and feels like it's turned a corner for me in the series. I'm hoping this persists and gets better and isn't just a single episode fluke.

As for Kidnap, it's another banger episode yet again. I always gush over it every week lol. It's just such a solid series that I almost wasn't going to watch initially because of the premise of the series. I just can't get over the chemistry between Ohm and Leng. By far one of the most unexpected pairings that I was a little wary of at first because of my love and association for Nanon with Ohm previously. I have to say that I do think Ohm and Leng are an even better pair. Whoever made the call to pair them up is amazing.

I had a hectic last two days of travel, but I finally got to watch LITA Koi Ep1!!!

I actually loved it??? Like others have said, I tend to enjoy Japanese productions, so that might have to do with it.

I (too) HAVE to mention LITA, but I’ll try to keep the comparison to this one episode—

I’ve mentioned before that I love LITA, but today I’d like to come clean. I actually found Rain embarrasing and annoying at the begining of the show. And since I’m confessing things— my favorite character is actually Prapai

That being said— I currently prefer this take on Rei— I found him so freaking cute— and more naive instead of dumb

Shoma as Arashi is really attractive. I don’t need to say anything else /clutches heart/

I do think the og show feels much more *expensive* specially at the begining with the bike race. The whole scene felt less flashy and contained. Arashi’s room also feels like a set… and that quilt doesn’t suit him! (but it does feel like a bachelor put it together… so I’m conflicted lmao)

On the other hand, I loveddd Rei’s car. It’s so cute! And Rei/Kai’s outfits are adorable!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to next week! Btw I’m tired, I tried reading this and I’m all over the place but I rather sleep than re-write lol

Love in the Air: Koi no Yokan Ep 1

ep1 i loved it, i tend to love japanese bls with just few exceptions so im not surprised i love it,  Arashi is so hot i got distracted few times lol and Rei is adorable :D

it’s hard not to compare the two when you do a remake. I have been guilty of doing that with lots of remakes. I did that with cherry magic, so I’m not wanting to judge.

I do agree with you that the Japanese version and the Thai version the first episode is pretty much the same and it’s interesting to see how they were able to do that first episode in 25 minutes. I have to say I don’t think it’s gonna be as good as the version because the cast for the diversion just so iconic however I think I’m gonna enjoy it and I’m gonna have fun

I want to see how they’re gonna take this story that is so popular and so well known and make it their own because if I’ve learned anything about Japanese adaptations of either manga or anime that I know in the past is either it can be really good or it could actually suck.

have been burned by Japan where they create live actions of my favorite manga series and it sucked but this one I’m hopeful because I think the first episode was pretty good. I will never forget what they did to Wotakoi or Sweat and Soap

Love in the Air: Koi no Yokan - episode 1

I can give my honest opinion of what I watched or I could share screenshots of Shoma. The latter wins *smiley face* (I will wait until the end to give a definitive opinion and review for now every week I will just talk about and show pictures of Shoma lol)

Oh my *wiggles eyebrows*

I need this man in a Mafia / dark romance BL IMMEDIATELY!

 Hannah:
it’s hard not to compare the two when you do a remake.

True, but it's easier not to compare when the remake is really different (e.g. "Addicted Heroin"). This one is so close (at least so far) that it's hard for me to avoid comparing in my mind, and Thai "LITA" (and Boss/Noeul) sets a high standard. That being said, I really like Arashi and Rei, and they do have a somewhat different dynamic. One concern I have about this compressed remake is how comprehensible it would be to viewers who don't know the original - e.g. the Korean remake of "Why R U?": I liked it, but I think anyone who hadn't seen the Thai original (which I really loved despite its flaws) would be rather lost.
