End Of The Year BL Review ~ 2024 Edition!

December 11th

1. A Couple that Should’ve/Could’ve Been: I know that's the usual thought people have and not always things have to follow this pattern, cause the way it was also "worked", but my boy Kyunghoon ended Love for Love's Sake saying he's got a boyfriend that I couldn't really believe existed till the end, and I hope HIS happy ending too. For some reason, the plot of him and Sangwon stuck in my mind, although he doesn't deserve and have nothing in commun with him. Is something weird to think after all or they could've been together?

2. One Series Where You Would Change the Actors: That's some good question. Jazz for Two's Ji Hogeun. I know there's a fanbase out there but I couldn't finish this drama without thinking that other actor could've done a better job at playing a male character who likes another man. I didn't felt love, attraction or passion at any moment. For me, he seemed a lot to be forcing, it didn't feel natural. That doesn't mean I think he's a bad actor, tho.

3. One Series Where You Would Change the Plot or Make It Better:

• My Stand-In: I'd make that d*ckhead Tong roughly pay for his actions. The drama ended and I didn't feel satisfied with his endind. A death or a prison sounds good to me after everything he's caused in this drama.
• Smells Like Green Spirit: I'd change Kirino's ending. I kind of got why but I can't let the "why not" go of my mind, too. It could have been different, better, cause the person she most worried about got to know the truth and was willing to accept, so why give to her this ending? I just got sad about it.
• The Spirealm: WHY did he take so long to be able to create everything again? I mean, I got why, but why????? It must have been-ahhh. And, also, of course, why did our boss have to be a NPC, bruh???

1. BL Couple You Would’ve Liked to See: Andy and Yu!! They did a good job at My Tooth Your Love and they have an amazing friendship and chemistry. And MaxTul, to be honest. They're top tier, so I always miss them.

Probably Love Sea. Sudden graphic sex scenes without some sort of emotional build up leave me feeling anxious and the scene it's self just feels cringey and embarrassing lol

2. Least Favorite Trope of 2024

Aphrodisiacs. My least favourite trope in general but I am discovering with BL's that I really don't like the Enemies to Lovers trope. The couples, from what I've watched so far, haven't felt like proper enemies. It's more like a bullying situation which just feels icky. It's the 'I'm teasing you because I like you' thing and I really hate that.

3. Series You Were Excited About but Was Poorly Executed

Meet You at the Blossom. I was willing to look past the dodgy hair and make up but they pulled the Aphrodisiac trope out in ep. 2 and I was done LOL
