You know you can get grey hair if you are too much stressed 😅 sometimes I do have a few grey strands even though I'm only 30. In such young age, around 20ish, Song Mo in the first lifetime bore too much responsibilities and hatred, with no one he could share his burdens. He shouldered them all alone. I remember another character that changed into white hair bcos of hatred and regret.
Defiance98:Macie jakieś pomysły, kto spowodował, że włosy Song Mo posiwiały w pierwszym życiu? A także, dlaczego Song Mo nie pamięta swojego pierwszego życia?
JI also wonder why he doesn't remember. When he woke up as a child he said he had a long dream and he would definitely remember it. Maybe he remembers but not everything.
My thoughts:
Grey hairs: because he committed a bunch of atrocities in the name of keeping Ding family safe or clearing their name (remember he was going to kill all the women and men at the residence to keep the secret that they are hiding the baby, it is likely in his first life he did something similar); finding out his dad likely killed his mom and tried to kill him; being betrayed by his family and nation; trying to find the truth without anyone who can support him (besides his army and friends who work for/with him and are also struggling); being used by people constantly and feeling like he's not getting anywhere close to the truth of why these terrible things happened to his family. I mean I'd get grey hairs too.
Why he doesn't have memories: maybe they are repressed. He dropped some blood on her and maybe they can only be revealed later... it seems like some part of him remembers something (like when he had the dream about her in the mask saying he couldn't die yet and showing the flower mark under her ear). I'm hoping he does end up remembering because I'm super stressed about the gambler guy he took under his wing that in the first episode was actively trying to kill him.
mparthur:In the novel, they never met face-to-face although Dou Zhou saw him from a distance when he was talking to her daughter. Dou Zhu had two sons and a daughter with Marquis Wei in her previous life. She was older than Song Mo.
She knew what he looked like from this encounter but he never saw her face.
But I think in the drama they show her as not having any kids from her marriage with the Marquis right? Cause she is able to leave the family so easily and in the middle of the night that too. If she had kids or any kind of attachments in that family, she wouldn't have been able to leave that easily. Or she would have tried to take them with her, since the Marquis was anyway likely not to like them.

Not in this drama as the story about her previous life was pretty much 10 minutes.
I love the novel. Song Mo is more formidable.
A lot has been changed from the novel which is understandable to make it into 34 episodes. I am currently rereading the novel and noticed a lot of information and interactions ended-up missing but are still needed to fully understand.
- So far for the grey hair I think excessive sorrow as he had become living proof of Murphy's law (losing his uncle and all maternal family dying with traitor status, followed by losing his mother, being betrayed by his own father, loing his paternal family's support, losing his heir status his official position and the trust and support from the Emperor and imperal family, ........ ) I could go on but it's already a lot for a teen right? he could also have just been poisoned, but I believe this is the right track as in episode 10 I think Dou 4 found grey hair.
- for his lack of memory, I am not sure, it could be the poison or he might have been too weak his body too battered at the moment of his death, or it could be because the memories were too traumatic and are just blocked somewhere in his mind.
it could also be the fact that he was just a passenger Shou Gou was the first to go through the mirror as he was protecting her from the arrow
- For the kids and song Mo : ShouGou had Three kids in the novel, but she was only close with her daughter because she was too busy before and couldn't take care of the boys. They ended up being distanced. In the Novel she is particularly indulgent toward the duke of Wei (he was't as bad as in the show just weak and self indulgent) and because of their kids. She wonders if she should get back with him because of them but finally abandons the idea and decides that she should marry no one and be free. As attracted she is to Song Mo she fears she will loose control of her fate as his spouse so refuses him in the beginning. I think this is true in the show too.
- The killer's identity : It is a new trope that did not exist in the novel, but I feel the tattoo on the hand should be a major identifier right?
I thought they mentioned that the grey hair came about from being poisoned in his first life. I have no clue as to who poisoned him in the first life though. I suspect the arrow shooter who killed them both in the first life was the same guy who killed the general on the ship. Just my guess at this stage.

Prince Qing. He had wanted to eliminate Song Mo like the way the Emperor did to SM's uncle.
In his previous life, Song Mo lost the people who loved him ie. his maternal uncles and relatives following his uncle's death. The females from his maternal side committed suicide before they were arrested so on the day of the execution, only the males were executed.
So, Song Mo was a tragic figure. In this life, DZ always showed him with love and kindness.
In his previous life, Song Mo had many concubines.

Three of them died at the same time.
When they woke up, they met again at the same temple. Ji Yong was in the same room as DZ. Meanwhile, Song Mo and his mother walked past Dou Zhao on the same day.
That's why Song Mo said he had seen DZ before. In the novel, DZ saw Song Mo but he only saw her back when she hurriedly walked away from him.
In their previous life, she was also one year older than Song Mo was as well as in this lifetime.
I like the story. She knew about Song Mo's reputation but he never knew hers. He never married but had many concubines.
In his previous life, Song Mo said he had a sister. Who was that person whom Song Mo missed so much?

I agree with the poisoning part. Cause when DZ asked in their previous life the cause of his grey hair, he responded that it was due to a loved one. Now this can be interpreted as because of the sorrow of losing his loved ones one after another. Or this could mean that he was poisoned by someone he held very dear to him.
BTW, the whole theory about SM being his mother's illegitamate child, hwo would that work. I mean isn't he and his brother like twins or something? Unless he is someone else's child that Madam Jiang took under her wing and disguised as her son. This migth explain why SM father didn't like him much and why he seemed to suspect his wife of infidelity. It is also possible he is actually his uncle's son or some royal child that his uncle saved and his mother took him in as her own to protect him from being hunted.
His identity may pose a threat to the emperor or his descendants. That might explain why one after another the royal family people kept targeting the Jiang family, and eventually SM. This way there is no proof of his identity and once he is dead, no one will be able to bring up the matter again. Its possible that someone manipulated SM father into killing his mother to wipe out the whole Jiang family. I find it kind of ridiculous otherwise that a DUKE no less would not suspect foul play when his brother-in-law and his family were annihilated and then his wife also dies, unless he was part of the whole thing and working under someone's orders or instigation.
