I felt that too! Even if they were enemies it's still sad to see so many young people dead...and Abe was always kind to Joseon people :)

Exactly my thought. In the time that LKT was the bad guy he was still nice to Abe and his 'comrades,' weren't that nice to Abe while he was being interrogated.
when Rara turned around and told Katsuyama her Korean name i cried, not that i wasnt teary though most of the last episode, but that tugged at me.

Me, too.
Somehow it gave me the feeling that Rara gave Katsuyama a hint to find her someday.
i will say this, however, i did find mok dan's death a little lazy on the part of the writers and a self indulgent way to avoid the Kang To/Shunji ultimate show down we've all been waiting for. at first you think it's a device to make Kang To angry enough to kill Shunji, b/c it was obvious he did not want to and he actually choked (no pun intended) when the big moment came and he had shunji, all he had to do was squeeze and he couldnt do it. but then Captain Crazy Pants (no sorry, now it's Superindentant Crazy Pants)accidentally shoots Mok Dan. now this is totally believable b/c NO ONE can friggin aim in this show. it's BELIEVABLE but it sticks in my craw. so now you've got Kang To sufficiently pissed and he's off to Kill Shunji. but then Shunji just kills himself. wait what? are you really going to try to sell that this is the one thing that shatter's Shunji's insanity? enough so that he doesnt want to take Kang To with him? nope sorry. at this point it becomes obvious that you're trying to salvage both characters. 1.you dont want to put a black mark on Kang To's white P.Js by having him kill his best friend. sorry guys, it's there, b/c Kang To would have killed him. and i wouldnt have thought any less of him for it. in fact i think it would have added to the character's sense of justice. 2. throughout i suspected that we were supposed to feel bad for Shunji. i've addressed this earlier. he went from normal to crazy too fast for much sympathy. he did pang me every once in a while, but he was pretty much a remorseless d-bag. they tried to buy him browinie points by having him save Rara, but his d-bag score is still too high. though i would have felt a regretful pang that it all had to turn out this way when Kang To cracked his skull with that iron stick, i wouldnt have be sorry for him. Shunji's suicide was supposed to be his way of saying "i know what i did was wrong and i want to save you the pain of having to kill me" but i dont really think the character we've been watching for the last 28 episodes would have gone down like that. i think it waaaay more believable that Shunji would decide to fight Kang To and try to let Kang To kill him, but also kill Kang To at the same time. sort of "i deserve to die for what i did, but so do you." kind of thing. i think killing Mok Dan could have definately made him suicidal but it dont think it would have changed how he felt about Kang To's crimes.
keke~ i found some BTS images which are to die for :)) *female fans*

Dear Joo Won.. I can't take you seriously in Gaksital anymore, everytime I see you it comes to my mind ^^
So many comments! 1. When I saw Kang To and Mok Dan were going to get married, I yelled. "DAMN IT!!!! NOOOOOOO!" I couldn't help myself. 2. I think might be just as unhinged as Shunji because I smiled when Mok Dan died and not even Joo Won's awesome crying (which by the way gets to every single time) made me misty eyed. I had an irrational dislike, even for me, for that character from the moment I saw her. So, I don't feel sorry at all she died. In fact, I was hoping the drama gods would please me in this since they have royally screwed me over with the casting of other dramas. *mumbles* Nice Guy*mumbles* I was actually kind of expecting it because oorie unnie, Rain, told me I would love the ending. So that could only mean useless Mok Dan died and RaRa lived, or RaRa and Kang To got together, which in any case meant Mok Dan had also died... :D 3. I cried, not bawling just a few tears, when I saw the massacre in the do jin's followers camp. That moved me more that the above death. 4. As a few mentioned, I did feel Abe was honoring the death freedom fighters in the camp. He looked so sad and in shock. 5. Shunji's death... I did get goosebumps, but it was probably because of Kang To's tear. And like others have mentioned, it was a bit disappointing. I was waiting to see the ultimate showdown too. 6. Katsuyama speaks! I did feel bad for him. I hope he can find himself a nice girl. 7. Oorie Chae Hong Joo is alive! I would have preferred she stayed with Kang To. But that would have been asking for too much. I'm just glad she made it out alive. I also teared up when she told Katsuyama her real name. 8. Omo, that ending! When I saw the people coming out dressed as Gaksitals, I was so freaking excited I started crying. And then when he appeared walking in between them...Omo...omo... I loved that ending. 9. Rain, I also liked that about when KT when to see Shunji. 10. Joo Won is adorable in 1N2D S2. I probably missed something.
I know everyone is disappointed that there was no Shunji - Kang To showdown at the end. I was relieved. Did you see Kang To's face when he realized that he wouldn't have to kill his childhood friend? To me Shunji almost redeamed himself with his last act. It was one less action that Kang To had to take that would make him miserable and for me I was happy for it.

Yeah, I think the tear was more out of relief than sadness. Although, I'm sure he must have been sad about how everything turned out.

Right!!! You know he had to be sad that it all ended this way, but I think he was relieved that chapter was over. I agree with you about not being sad that Mok Dan died. The only reason why I thought it was sad was because it was one more burdan that Kang To had to bare since she was shot saving him. I really have a love hate relationship with Shunji. He did some horrible things, but I still like him. I'm crazy though. I like the smart "bad guys".

BTW...Did anyone notice that although a lot of great characters die in this drama; no one hated it like they did Fashion King???
I will miss my pretty Joo Won. Good bye Bridal Mask..I gave you an 8 only because Joo Won got so much screen time:D other wise it would have been a 7 because it was very very long. also Sunji's evilness was very will acted (how does that boy curl his lip like that?) YaY! for the emotional ending

i'm one that wasnt disappointed about that scene. I actually seen it coming and it makes more sense this way compare to a showdown, plus i feel there is more emotion for the characters this way
