Today I feel very brave so I dare enter the lion's den and write my little piece on this drama, all the while keeping the panic door in sight for quick escape. :p
I've finally reached episode 4.
It took me something like an eternity, and I know I'm behind, but I'm truly struggling through this.
I can't deny it's hilarious. I laughed out loud and hard at all the ninja/joseon rangers' antics and I can definitely do with more of those. I also like the cast, they are doing a very good job. Yoochun is adorable, but this is something I was convinced of even before starting this drama.
This said, the silliness of it all is burning a dangerous amount of my neurons. I have to fast forward every single scene involving: SeNa - she's like an overdose of maliciousness and gratuitous evil which I truly can't take - her mother, the grandmother *yawns repeatedly*, the whole male staff at the company - I still have to understand the relationship between those, who's a father, an uncle, a secretary... in a word: who the heck are those people??? I also have a terrible premonition I'll have to swallow more of Secret-Garden-Evil-Mother-Turned into-Ahjumma-Who-Wants-To look-Like-a Highschool-Babe. Gah.
The reincarnation plot is so convoluted I'm in dire need of a tranquilizer. So basically we have a soul who travelled first from a Joseon prince into a modern Tae Yong, then this last dies (or so it seems) and his soul not only travels back into the medieval prince but this one is catapulted soul AND body into the future. This soul is sure doing a lot of moving. :p I have to infer the souls of the other unlucky dudes who travelled in time are quietly sleeping somewhere waiting for a body to find shelter in, since these bodies are neither living not have died.
And I still maintain the body in the pond is NOT the princess', but the princess's sister. They never showed us her face, and the prince didn't have a chance to see it since he jumped into the Stargate. But I guess I have to wait and endure the rest of the show to find out if I'm right or just a tad little stressed.
Please, forgive my rant, it's not my intention to spoil the pleasure of anyone wathing and loving this drama. I hope someone has the patience to make me change my mind. In the meantime, I'm perfecting my fast forward abilities for future needs. ;)
