[Discussion] City Conquest

Apparently the drama has too high a budget and that's the reason it hasn't been picked up yet :s I was soooo looking forward to this drama! :(

So I know there a thread about what is City Conquest and who starred in it like most drama I've seen on these forum but that now why I am here. I am here because of the controversial drama City Conquest and to kinda tell you, if you dont know already, what is the latest on this drama.

So City Conquest is basically about a man who father left him and his mom which trigger him to be brought up to get revenge upon the evil in society. Sound familiar right. Kinda like City Hunter except in City Hunter the baby is taken away from the mom so that his father friend would train him to have revenge on the people who shot and killed the dad but City Conquest the dad just one day up and leave. So there is some similarity for City Hunter and City Conquest. So why is KBS, MBC, and SBS denied this drama??????

Well so far MBC and SBS are not interested. SBS is not interesting because i think they said it not family-oriented drama (i dont know. dont quote me on this) and MBC i cant remember the reason why MBC refuse to aired this drama it either money wise or political reason but so those 2 big network are a no-go.

KBS well they said the drama is too expensive, too much violence cause of the new government and so on..... Media Back said. They said they had 4 meetings about this drama and so far KBS is still not budging. So if this continue on Media Back, which is the production of City Conquest, then they said they will go elsewhere and find someone overseas that would love to broadcast this drama.


Also KBS has a new president and as the new president he replaced the drama center executives which by the way is wow..... So Media Back said if they wanna toss us around then we will take our drama over to Japan, since they already agree to let them make a drama about the manga, and aired it there.


So there you have it..... personally if KBS will not show this drama as a director and CEO of such a production company who spend endless amount of money and then get shut down even when they try so hard to convinced KBS to show i would pack up my things my crew and go to Japan and aired it there but that is MY opinion.

City Conquest Shuts Down Production as KBS Passes on Airing the Drama

alright so it been reported that kim hyun joong drops drama city conquest......... he said in the statement that he will be focusing on his singing and that he will be touring until march. other actors are considering dropping the drama as well...... so unfortunately no city conquest... i guess the page should be archived.

If you already know there's a thread for it, why didn't you post this discussion in there? That's what the other thread is for.

Dramabeans brings up a good point. They could have tried other outlets for getting this show aired. For as long as they have been drawing this out, I thought for sure they would succeed in finding some way to finish this drama. :/
