From episode 1 conversation: by scheduler and ji hyun

00:59:10,365 --> 00:59:15,194
She doesn't look good.
That hair! And those clothes!

551
00:59:15,300 --> 00:59:16,620
I don't know how it works
in this neighborhood,

552
00:59:16,738 --> 00:59:19,117
but in ours nothing happens for no reason.

553
00:59:19,234 --> 00:59:20,824
Everything is related.

554
00:59:20,919 --> 00:59:24,476
That woman and I are related in some way?

555
00:59:24,605 --> 00:59:26,301
How?

its seems that the Unni thing twist at episode 20 are planned right there from the beginning... (or may be I analyzed it wrong or not?)

I think you are absolutely right! The fact they were sisters only bothers me a little. In my opinion, 49 Days was written perfectly in almost every way but one...And this is it. Maybe they wanted to keep up their good track record of springing really great plot twists on the audience? but I think with this one plot point it was too huge to not give us more of a story set up. It feels contrived...feels almost forced to try and make things even more tragic and touching then they already were.

My point is:

You can tell a story where the audience is clued in but the characters are not. Part of the fun is watching them figure out what you already know. (which is mostly how 49 days unfolded for us as the audience) ~~ Or you can tell a story where the audience isn't as clued in and half the fun of watching is waiting for those clues be revealed. (For example: the movie Memento) But to just switch the game for only one plot element made the fact that Ji Hyun and Yi Kyung were sisters feel like a tacked-on story element added last minute, even with that vague clue mentioned in Episode 1.
actually Memento is actually one of my favorite western movie ^^
im on a rewatching mode with my aunt watching it for the first time..... so im noticing some little plot points (maybe metaphoric or subtle in a sense) w/c makes the finale reasonable......

but im worried if she will satisfy in the outcome or not
Well Boredandtwitchy & Jeanie have very eloquently i might add expressed my views on this drama I really enjoyed it & for me the ending was poignant & thats a good thing in my book a "and they lived happily ever after" type ending wld hv seemed contrived with this particular story/drama.

My only gripe is as stated above by jeanie the sister plot twist seemed unnecessary & if it was going to be introduced there shld hv been more set up than springing it on the audience in the last 2 eps.

All in all well written & acted drama especially The Scheduler he was magnificent :D
at first, i was hesitant to watch this drama coz i thought it was a tearjerker. and it bothers me for days getting sad and depressed thinking about the drama.. so i usually follow it up with a romcom. but im loving 49 days so far. im in ep 10 and Mr. Scheduler cracks me up. i love watching Jung Il Woo in this kind of drama. How can Mr. Reaper/Scheduler so damn cute and handsome.
this is one of my fav. kdrama i cry a lot, but i'm happy ...@@@ i miss u scheduler.....@@@
On a dramathon to finish this drama in three days!
Can anyone let me know if this show has a happy ending or not? I want to know before I watch it. Please use spoiler tags because I don't want to spoil it for anyone else.... Thx :)
i will try to answer w/out spoling it for you too. ****it really depends on your definition of happy. i didnt think it was particularly sad, but it was unfortunate for some characters****
just finished this and not sure if everyone else feel the same way but i really loved the ending twist
