I have not watched any of  the three seasons of Reply.  Planning to watch it.

Which one should I go for?

Which season was the best according to you?

P.S.  It will be helpful if you give reason and personal review when you recommend.

Thank you in advance!!!

Although 97 was my favourite (still watching 88, tho I doubt I'll change my mind), I'd recommend you watch all three in the order they were released cause otherwise you'll miss the references they make in 94 & 88.

I watched both Reply 1997 and 1988...  I personally liked  97 better..must coherent was easy to follow the past references , as i  am from that generation..

88  is good too...but i am still nursing my broken heart coz of the ending..

94, i havent got enough energy to go through the heart break again....so just skipping it...no other reason...

1988! For the very simple reason that I myself was 17 years old in 1988! So I love it for that reason. Besides that it's just so well made... it's one of my favorites of all drama.

I watched Reply 1997 and I enjoyed it but it wasn’t really memorable. I tried Reply 1994 but dropped it I got bored. But Reply 1988 is my all time favorite drama. I loved it and I was hooked since the 1st ep. The storyline was more about the family and friendship and everything was just ...memorable. I think you should try them in the order they were released but If you don’t have enough time you should try Reply 1988.

I suggest you watch Reply 1997 first! It was very enjoyable, adorable, and funny. It has a nice pacing, too. It is the first drama of the Reply series, so it is quite essential to watch it first (mostly to understand future references and stories better). Also, it's more of like testing the waters to see whether you'll like the concept of the series itself or not.

Are they all connected?

So does that mean Reply 1988 don't have a satisfying ending?

Is it set in the era of 1988?

Okay I got your point. thank you :-)

Reply series has different feel to it compared to other drama...they are not just boy meets girl and fall in love drama...It has the wholesome setup..It has family , friends, neighborhood they grew up..It is  a story of a persons life and the conflicts they face... pick one and watch  and then you will know what i am talking about...it is hard to explain...

Coming to your question.. For me personally i did not like the ending...others might feel different..Dont want to give out any spoilers first...

Yes. 1988. It's so much fun to see things like the Seoul olympics, the walkman, wearing your sweater in your trousers... ;-)

Hmm... I get it what you mean. Thank you for your review :-)

Are they all connected?

I wouldn't say connected, cause you can perfectly watch one of them without having seen the others.  But there are some references in 94 & 88 such as things they say that wouldn't be funny/you wouldn't even notice if you didn't see the previous one(s), cameo's from 97 in 94 and from 94 in 88, ...
