FengLong...and XiaoYao?

Ikr...that's why I made him this thread so he'll get some love 😭 if you think about it...he's actually so sad compared to the other three...

I mean....

1. He gets his wife stolen from him on his wedding day by a playboy and now is the laughing stock of the entire vast wilderness just to later find out his best friend had something to do with it even after giving his blessing 

2. He finds out his sister is insane and due to sibling loyalty now has to help her in killing his other best friend's cousin who is his ex-finance who he finds out his best friend is in love with 

3. After this whole thing his sister is basically dying inside so he attempts to make huge strides in the war with the rebel ChengRong army only to end up dying at such a young age 

4. The girl he likes has 3 other men way ahead of him that she's in love with or was in love with at one point

Whenever I think about these things I stop feeling as bad for XL and myself because I realize in some aspects XL had it better than FL. 

 At least to me, it seemed from the novel and in the show that he knows the feelings he keeps hidden are reciprocated and his wishes are fulfilled i.e. the love of his life being able to protect herself, ending up with a good man who won't abandon her that she actually loves as well and dying an honorable death and securing a burial place for his fellow soldiers.

Although Xuan promised FengLong to treat CRXY better after his death we have no way of knowing if that's actually the case tbh despite that being his dying wish.

You're welcome.  I didn't post these directly from  my desktop. After I did the screen capture, I uploaded the pictures to an image website like imgur.  Then I copy the url of the images and posted them here. MDL only allows posting image here via url.  As long as you have the url of the image like from Twitter, you can post it here.

Apparently, TH's novels usually have a sad ending and now that I think about it, Scarlet Heart ended sadly too except there is s2 which had a happy ending for the main couple but that was...an interesting mess in my opinion tbh.

wow I am seeing how tragic this character is lol...I will have to rewatch his scenes to analyze this character .

Yeah, he looked so happy! Awhile ago in the comment section Ari_Lee and I were talking about what his thoughts were during his almost wedding with XY...LOL it was so unfortunate. But honestly based on the info that another person posted, there seems to be some changes to the script so maybe the wedding scene will be less sad/tragic? 

That's probably unlikely but still...

I just wanna share my favorite XY/FL moment till now. It was in episode 38 when FL was in such awe over XY's wit defending CX against their scheming uncle.

He lovingly said, "if (one) is to get marry to her in the future, (one) need to be patience and let her get her ways, not daring to fight with her." There was no "subject" so the way I hear it, it's the same as him saying that he would be the husband, and there was no fear in his tone, but more like a doting husband doing a "yes dear" vibe. He had such adoration and admiration in his eyes talking about her. We know FL like XY's look and obviously her position, and find her personality refreshing, but it's this one of the first moment that I felt FL was actually imagining XY in a more romantic manner.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I think show-wise, this is when I started being more on board with their engagement. Or I guess more so like, "hmmm" I'm actually wondering what married life between them would look like. A part of me is curious about it and whether or not XY could ever "grow" to like him.

I think XY like FL plenty.... as a buddy. And but romantically.. I'm not sure. If XY is like FFYY or XinYue then I think she could grow to like him. He's ambitious, straightforward, has high prestige and has no other women. All the things FFYY and XinYue like. But for XY who had "experience" a love like Jing and XL, then it's harder. It's like experiencing real fire from a fireplace to looking at an electronic fireplace that only mimic the look of it on a flat screen. 

XY would like FL, but I don't think she would ever "love" him. And to be frank, she would be bored out of her mind. XY love to talk, but FL doesn't seem like he would sit there and listen to XY talk all day long.

Honestly feel like if they got married, even if they didn't fall in love with each other, they would have a pretty happy relationship. And you're right they're both really loyal, and that's something that Xiaoyao really craves in a person, someone who will always be by her side and never abandon her. While they don't have the most chemistry, I think they suit each other most naturally.

Idk why I thought I replied to this but yes I feel like there is a possibility that they could have had a nice life together. Although I keep going back and forth between thinking that and thinking that it might have ended up being a sad marriage or one similar to CSS's aunt's marriage in Love Like The Galaxy.
