I wrote my first ever fanfic because I have Haoyan fever ??.  I hope you guys like it. 

Haoyan 1st fight

About 1 month after marriage...

Leyan asked the housekeeper at Du mansion when is Haodu's birthday. However, as he was adopted his date of birth is unknown.  This makes Leyan sad so she decided to go to the temple and choose an auspicious date to celebrate her husband. The date that was given to her is just 8 days away. Leyan knows precisely the perfect gift for Haodu. She estimated she will need to work all day, everyday to embroider a majestic dragon, the symbol of bravery and loyalty on his armor Cloak.
During the day Haodu is either at the soldiers training camp in the outskirts of Chang'an or attending court. He always come back home in the evening to join his wife for dinner.  Leyan have been diligently working on the Cloak for 6 days but it is taking longer than she anticipated. She will have to work through the nights in order to finish on time. That evening when Haodu came home she told the maid to tell him she wants to be alone and for him to eat dinner and retire in his own chamber. Haodu felt that this past week Leyan has been acting a little strange. Much quieter than normal. He felt like she is being secretive, as if she's hiding something from him. He felt that perhaps, Leyan is unhappy with him because he's always busy with military affairs and court proceedings.
With that in mind he went to talk to Leyan, to avoid any misunderstandings. When he got to their room, he found the door to be locked. He knocked and called out to her, "Leyan, what's the matter? Are you feeling sick? I want to talk." Leyan replied, "I'm fine, I just want to be alone for a couple of days."  Haodu kept trying to insist she open the door for him so she raised her voice and shout "please I just want to be left alone!" After a brief silence she heard his much softer reply, "alright, as you wish princess." Than all she can hear is his retreating footsteps. She knows he's upset with her but she can't dwell on that right now, she have a Cloak to finish.  
The next day he did not come home, Leyan learned from one of the guards that he spent last night in his tent at the training camp and will do the same tonight. She was relieved she didn't have to send him away again. But she missed him sorely, she can't wait for tomorrow evening to see the surprised look on his face. The next day Leyan have the maids prepared an elaborate dinner in their chamber, the gift folded neatly on a tray. The Chambers scattered with rose petals. Dinner time came and went, no Haodu. Leyan wrote a message asking him to come home for dinner and have a guard deliver it to Haodu . About an hour later the guard returned with a message for Leyan. The note says, "Princess don't need to be worried, I've eaten. Rest well." At that point Leyan, realized he is not mad or upset but probably hurt and uncertain about her feelings for him. After all they've only been married for a short time, and they've never talked about their feelings towards each other. She knows he loves her as his actions proved time and time again, that he would do anything for her. As for her she cared about him at first but along the way she comes to realized her own feelings for him have deepened exponentially. Her tough and strong Haodu who is such a softy with her. Even now she realized how much she missed his smiles and it's only been two days. It's in that moment she decides to go to him at the training camp.
She quickly order a carriage and have the guard and her maid escort her there.  Once she arrived, she was greeted by Haodu's 2nd in command, "greetings your majesty, general Du is still training right now, I will go inform him that you are here". Leyan replied, "no need commander, I will wait in his tent.” Once in the tent with her maid Leyan got to work stripping down to only her under garments. She than put on the long black cloak that completely covers her from head to toe. She took off her shoes and send her maid away with her shoes and dress. She said, “go back quickly, or he will send us back in the carriage, he can’t send me back in this state!” The maid giggles and ran so fast to the carriage, afraid of ruining her mistress’ plan.
Leyan waited for about a quarter length of a candle when Haodu finally returned to his tent. Haodu walked in and was quite surprised to see his wife standing in her black cloak in the middle of his tent. He said, “princess, what are you doing here? You shouldn’t be here!” Before Leyan could reply he shout “guards, escort the princess back to~~~ before he even finished his sentence, Leyan untie the strings of her cloak letting it slid softly to the ground revealing her white shoulders. In a flash Haodu was across the room taking his wife into his arms and covering her body with his own cloak right before his guards rushed in, in response to his command. “OUT!! ALL OF YOU!” The flustered guards scrambled to get out as fast as they could. Leyan would laugh under different circumstances, but at this moment she chose to wrap her arms around her husband and on her tippy toes kissed the exposed skin at the base of his throat since she can’t reach his lips without his cooperation. “Please stop calling me princess, I hate it when you call me that. I’ve missed you so, when do you plan to come back and sleep at home? Until than, I will stay here with you.”
Instead of answering her he said “where are your clothes?” She hugged him tighter and replied “I sent it back with my maid, so if you  want to send me home you will have to do it yourself.”
?“I thought you don’t want to see me, I thought my presence makes you unhappy, that is why I stay away.”
?"oh, Haodu no, never. I've missed you. I wanted to surprise you with a gift, I made myself. I have to give it to you today. I have to work on it through the night to finish but I couldn't tell you that, here take a look. I hope you like it."
Leyan went to get the tray from the table and present it to Haodu. He unfold the teal colored Cloak slowly, revealing a beautiful dragon embroidered in silver thread. He than looked and his wife and for the first time noticed the faint dark circles under her eyes which match his perfectly. He felt like an idiot now for being upset. He put the clock down and gently pulled  Leyan  closer.
?"Thank you wife, for this beautiful gift. I am sorry for being upset with you. It seems we both haven't slept well this past couple of days . I promised tonight will be better".
With that pulled her in for a toe curling kiss that left her almost breathless. That night was one of the most unforgettable night for both them.

Thank you.  I love  your short story.  In this entertainment scenario, you are one of the few  good English feature writers I have encountered. My only disappointment is, I could not understand most of the interviews of/between ZL/LY because of lack of English subtitles.  Can this be remedied?  thanks
