Dani:

well I imagine if someone is going to send spies to another country they would have them work on their accent as part of the whole process? I can't even tell the difference between the two so well spotted! Guy being tortured probably had not reason to fake it at that point.

As for the bullet thing... yeah they just left it there?? I think??

I watched a few documentaries about North Korean defector so I noticed it quickly XD. I guess it confirmed me they are indeed spy then, especially when the comrade didn't bother to hide it anymore and brought his mission to his grave.

He’s definitely a spy ? he had a gun(guys are pretty rare unless your military or police)  and I don’t think the people(police) searching for him in general and have all that  information about him just because he is a North Korean defector ? plus if you’ve seen enough kdramas about North Korean military you know that the word “comrade” is pretty much how the North Korean military refer to themselves and when he hotwire the radio that’s not some hobby either.  Im sure some viewers don’t want him to be the spy because than it makes the whole romance with Jisoo that much more difficult but they made it work in “crash landing on you” I’m sure they have something figured out in “Snowdrop” ?

Episode 3, a running commentary

  • lol the sleepwalking scene! I love how they balance the comedy with the drama parts.
  • I love the way they are getting closer but I also can't help but be suspicious of Soo Ho's feelings right now, dude is in survival mode so it's hard to tell if he has genuine feelings or it just trying to not die by using the naive student who rescued him.
  • look I know the fact that the ANSP aren't literally bashing heads is a source of controversy here but look at how the kid shut up, look at their faces, the minute they read the ID and knew who they were. These agents may not be terrorising people but from my point of view people certainly seem terrified of them. And the minute the kid starts getting interrogated, the pure fear in his voice?
  • "Even when we made innocent people spies....."
  • in a terrible juxtaposition of commentary I would like to thank Snowdrop for the Christmas gift that is Soo Ho doing pull ups.
  • The jordache shirt on the line threw me for a second and I had to go look up when they were founded
  • I'm skipping over the wives club, let me know if I missed anything
  • oh and look! people were mad the director was too nice?  We've now learned he wasn't even the director until recently. Actually according the research I found there were 5 directors between 1980 and 1987 but I couldn't find much on the individual people? Might be a history book that goes into it, idk.
  • So we know that the south korean government was paying north korean spies to help rig the election in their favour by kidnapping figures close to the opposition and staging photographs in the North. Only Kang Moo's chief isn't in on the corruption and Kang Moo is defying orders.
  • I'm betting "protocol" is to kill him if they can't safely get him out
  • okay I don't like guns but that was a little hot >.>
  • It's almost easy to forget this is the 80s but Hye Ryung really has the look
  • You know considering Yoo In Na's character is listed as a main I'm expecting her to actually be relevant at some point? I was just looking at the cast and remembered she's only had two short scenes so far.
  • I'm sorry is this dance scene supposed to be anything other than hilarious? Am I meant to swoon? Oh it's all a dream, lol
  • The ending though!! Romantic maybe but I kept screaming at him to gtfo

Okay so while this episode was fun, and definitely did not feel dragged out considering the length of these episodes, it does feel rather filler? We do get a few things cleared up but in terms of moving the plot forward not much happens. Other than his escape, obviously, but did we need a whole episode for that? But I guess this is more of a marathon than a sprint.

  • Episode 5 was better in terms of how it was edited and acting of the cast .
  • Was not expecting Professor Han to get killed .
  • The whole wives thing gave me a headache lol
  • Young ro's brother was patrolling the coast , did he get killed ? It would be sad if he did .
  • Yoon Se Ah and Kim Hye Yoon 's acting was SO good ( especially in eps 4-5 )
  • Soo Ho seems to be having a crisis , i feel like there's more to his story
  • Dr Kang is finally going to play her part in the coming episode
  • I still don't get Kang Moo chasing Soo Ho , because his partner's death was his own fault ( if i am correct ) .
  • I am curious about Soo ryun as well since she seemed to want Soo ho's mission to fail
  • The action sequences were good imo
  • There's a lot of scheming going on and everybody seems confused .

oh god this! they keep colluding with each other and then backstabbing one another! Such a messy plan.

Omg! Wtf is this 5th episode!??

I have no idea how they will solve all this... I have a feeling that it will have sad ending... And will leads even have romance???

Did her brother die on that ship too?

And did I understand correctly that a plan B is to kill everyone??? Spies and hostages too, according to the preview....

I'm kind of assuming Soo Ho and Young Ro will end up bonding over their daddy issues despite his treatment of her? I think a lot of Soo Ho's motivation is about his relationship with his father rather than any real commitment to the North or communism?

I think that someone is blackmailing him and/or his father. This episode (5th) he said to comrades that their families will die in NK if they dont listen orders.

But I REALLY have no idea how they will bond or even get alive from that dorm.... This is such a mess! Maybe if he takes her with him as a hostage while running away to NK????? It is like the only idea I have rn... Or maybe they will stay in dorm the most of drama, maybe the whole plot will be there?????

They don't show him getting killed it's just an assumption for now and yes Dr Kang will likely play a part in that , if i remember correctly one of the trailers/teasers showed her injured in the dorm telling people to not shoot (?) .

I was also wondering whether they cut a few parts from the drama since we didn't see the radio part in any of the released episodes ( the part where the radio interrupts Soo Ho and Young Ro 's conversation ) or is it going to be a part of the coming episodes .. ?

They did have a bunch of sponsors pull out so I'm not sure if that will mean editing out scenes that features those products or something else. It could be upcoming, which preview showed us the scene, do you remember?

I do think he's a bit conflicted between what he has to do and what he wants to do something like that . Though it did seem at first that he wanted to complete the mission for his father but i am not too sure now .

This one

My theory is that there will be something (maybe this plan B according to which AMSP needs to kill everyone in the dorm) bc of which they all will unite and work together: Sohoo and maybe even the nicer comrade of him, Young-Ro and all students, director of hall, doctor, repairman, Boon Ok and those 2 cops, maybe even few other cops who worked under the guy who is captured.

Nope definitely didn't happen in the drama. I wonder if it's suppose to be a scene or just a promo thing because it didn't happen while he was up on the forth floor, unless it'a flashback to come later?

Quite possibly a flashback
