I've blocked so many accounts.

Did you report the comments, or did you just Block the accts making the comments? And did you read all of the comments by the accounts OP listed, or did you Block each one of them after reading OP's opening? Blocking, by itself, won't stop those accts from making horrible comments. Reporting the comments will. Eventually. Please Report the comments before you Block the accounts.

The issue isn't that they've raised a concern, but that it's a false claim. From the comments I've seen, none of them appear misogynistic, and some others feel the same. If there's any comment we might have missed that suggests otherwise. the discussion in drama page  is clearly from a perspective on a character, much like you or I could have. 

From what I've read in this thread, The comments seem neutral and focused on the facts rather than taking anyone's side.

Yes, that's exactly the case in some places , and such people shouldn't be on public platforms. I report comments and users like that. Unfortunately, action is taken on some things but not on all.

I wish there was a way to upvote your post. I saw you got some pushback from others in this forum so I just wanted to send some support for your list of problematic accounts. It's not like you're making anyone do anything. Arguing that this is some free speech matter is bullshit. They still have the ability to spew their bile, we just don't have to see it. I've been so tired of the crazy misogynistic rants in recent dramas this year and this drama was the final straw. I've blocked so many accounts. I am so tired of the s word lol it's not even a bad word but im so sick of it i won't type it

Thank you for your support. There is people that think hate speech is free speech. But what makes more disappointed is the fact that so many women want to waste their time to defend those guys as if they needed. Like you said, I'm not forcing anyone to nothing, I'm not that poweful, I just made a suggestion of block. If someone wants or not no follow this suggestion it's their problem but that Lucy person felt so offended for some reason. Maybe it is besause she has nothing else to do like she said herself lol

I'm older and retired with nothing but time on my hands. I've offered to help clean up the SPAM comments and the comments you've mentioned. How does one speak to someone who has the ability of having a volunteer retiree assist? They need more mods.They need critical thinkers. They need someone who has the life experience to discern when a comment goes beyond and into vile territory.

Exactly, I'm tired of report offensive comments but nothing is never made.

I didn't even read these people's comments specifically, but I've noticed that on all the pages of Kdramas that have a female protagonist there are people criticizing the actress, it's not possible that there isn't 1 good actress in South Korea because that's what it looks like reading the comments on ALL THE PAGES

Hate sppech is free speech UNLESS UNLESS UNLESS it causes mental (such as bringing up trauma from one's past) or physical harm to another (such as pushing them to suicide).

No, I have plenty to do. It offended my love for freedom of speech, and my hatred of bullying. Making the thread wasn't ONLY about you actually suggesting others Block those accounts. It was also to harass those accounts because their opinions didn't align with yours, and you wanted others to help you in getting the accounts Blocked or banned. 

I'll give you one: You also have freedom of speech to say what you did when you made this thread (Good). It was apparent after reading their comments that the harm was your willingness to curb the freedom to speak of those accts. The CONTENT of your original comment did cross over into harmful territory (Bad). Simply because they don't have the same opinion as you (Ugly). Granted, 2 of the accounts have vile comments, and 3 accounts could be ignored and scrolled on by. The 3 were doing no harm. I do want to thank you for the new friend I made because of your thread. 


TL;TR You have a right to speak your mind. You do not have the right to point out accounts YOU have a problem with in hopes others will join you in helping harass those accts. Use the Report button by hitting the 3 dots. Or learn to scroll on by. Easy peasy. If not, I'm available to walk you through it.

Vile comments about other people are why we’re on this thread in the first place. You could also learn to scroll by, just like you said.

Could you explain why 3 of the accounts did not in any way have vile comments. Only 2 accounts did. It would be horrible to ban those 3 along with the other 2 bc someone doesn't want to go to the trouble of reading all of their comments.

Continue scrolling...I will after this. I'll just let them reap what they've sown. What goes around comes around, and I hope the OP isn't on the receiving end one day. It wouldn't be pretty to witness him cry foul.

I don't really go here, lol but the thread was linked somewhere else. I think it might be more useful to point the Terms of Service that users agree to when joining  the site (rather than nebulous terms like hate speech) which specifically states :

will not post or submit Contributions that: (i) are defamatory, damaging, disruptive, unlawful, inappropriate, offensive, inaccurate, pornographic, vulgar, indecent, profane, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, threatening, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable; (ii) incite, encourage or threaten immediate physical harm against another, including but not limited to, Contributions that promote racism, bigotry, sexism, religious intolerance or harm against any group or individual; or (iii) contain material that solicits personal information from anyone under 13 or exploits anyone in a sexual or violent manner; 

I also think call out posts like this, if people are going to insist on making them, would do better with linked comments as examples, I'm not entirely sure I see the point of such posts anyway because most of us who don't want to see such comments are probably already blocking such accounts without prompting.

If they had the sense to read the Terms of Service they wouldn't make threads such as this, so pointing them out is futile, as was every comment I made on this asinine thread. 

I have used the TOS under comments when someone thought a viewer was being vile when they just disliked the drama. It ups the animosity when a dislike by one user turns into 'hating on the drama' by another user. When did dislike and hate become the same? Rhetorical

Funny you commented after I'd read the whole Support thread. The users provided links for the profiles AND provided links for the specific comments. Here neither was provided. 

Have those you were concerned with gone POOF yet? I wouldn't know since I Blocked them.
