Just to be clear, I don't really agree with you on this thread either :D. Kind of think you're all wrong truth be told. I don't think a call out post like this is harassment nor do I think the use of the word "should" in this case is telling people what to do so much as suggesting a course of action others might wish to take. But I also personally don't think posts like this are necessarily useful, and would be better off going to a mod or the support forum or emailing the site admins.
I pointed out ToS for those concerned with hate speech, because terms of service are an actual actionable thing on the site. Rather than "hate speech" which is basically a nothing term in these particular contexts.
Anyway, the comments I was concerned with elsewhere do look to have been dealt with so that's something. Cheers folks, enjoy your drama.

You are entitled to your opinion and I too am entitled to mine. A call out post like this using derogatory statements and listing the accts IS harassment, regardless if it's backed with evidence or not. Look up the laws. It's the same as if your neighbor called the police for an obscure reason just because they don't like you, knowing their buddy in the police dept has to follow up on the call. It's required. Having the police show up at your door bc someone doesn't like you IS harassment. In the case of hmmmm, he doesn't like that those accounts have a different opinion than he does so he calls the police (a thread) bc he knows people will show up. Look up the laws. It boggles my mind people don't understand this.

I'm certainly not looking up any laws because one internet post is highly unlikely to be illegal and the law doesn't apply anyway. If you think the thread violates laws or ToS I invite you to use the report function ?. Otherwise OP is also entitled to their opinion. There's also a suggestion forum where you might consider requesting such call out posts be added as against terms of service?
LucyL:IS harassment
Is it harassment by definition? Sure, that's coz definition is as fucking vague as one can be: "the use of words or engaging in behavior that annoys, threatens, intimidates, or demeans a person.". Not all harassment can be legally prosecuted tho, because it also depends on the effect it has on a person.
If I say someone is a dick once, technically it's harassment. Can anything be done with it? No.
Same here, this post has little to no effect on people who are named in it. They won't know if they get blocked, it does not advocate for others to harass them. I honestly fail to see how this is even a big deal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I suggested look up the laws (besides the definition of) bc people don't generally go by them.. I tend to fall back on my teacher and law enforcement background and from that perspective I can see it as harassment. It was a "big deal" to me bc I haven't seen threads as such anywhere on MDL. Taking away someone's freedom of expression is nuanced and done in increments. Spreading rumors and gossiping are also harassment, regardless of whether the person targeted knows they're being talked about and shunned (in this instance, Blocked) bc of it. Was any harm done to them? We'll never know unless they speak up. "I honestly fail to see how this is even a big deal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ " while I fail to see why others don't understand HOW freedoms are slowly eroded.
Yes, I am an older woman, yet, OP chose to mock me for being "wise" and a "thinker". No, I've just paid attention and have the life experience backing the gradual decline of our freedoms across the world.
OP was extra. Everyone knows (I assume) the comments and/or Blocks can be done under each comment but they chose to make a thread as if people are so stupid as to not know this, and coming from an account that has nothing, no Currently Watching, no Completed, no nothing after opening an account in Jan of this year. I don't know those users, except Vincenzo's comments across MDL. I ignore him/her. I hadn't read any of the comments before commenting under this thread. I was addressing the outing of the 5 accounts in a thread. Sure, I've read comments suggesting others Block someone else, but not in a Thread. Since, I saw comments from 3 of the accts deleted, probably due to users reporting them as they read the comment(s) and comments from 2 accts remain. OP's thread was unnecessary.
LucyL:Taking away someone's freedom of expression
they are NOT doing that tho. Suggesting other people to block you is just that - suggestion. IF they were admins and blocked your account permanently so no one can see that, and the block was beyond control of other users, that would be taking away your freedom of expression. There is a difference here.
LucyL:I was addressing the outing of the 5 accounts in a thread.
it's not "outing" when their profile and all the things they are writing is public. At best it's highlighting the profile in a bad light. '
If this forum thread is such a big deal for you, I must say, you must have had rather easy like.
LucyL:OP's thread was unnecessary.
I agree it was unnecessary, at the same time I do not think it's such a big deal and WISE thing would be just to ignore it. Let's say someone blocked these users just based on this post alone - it's obviously that people who block before checking are not interested in any discussion anyway, so again... where is the harm?
At the end of the day experiences are SUBJECTIVE. For you this is harassment, for me it's not. If it happened to me, I'd laugh about it with friends, engaged if I was bored, ignored if I was busy.
For you the comments named users made were mostly harmless and not an issue, for OP they were misogynistic. Whenever yours, theirs, or mine - these are all just subjective opinions about the situation.
Kate:you must have had rather easy like.
Did you mean life? No, it's been anything but.
Kate:For you the comments named users made were mostly harmless and not an issue
As I've said before, I responded to the thread BEFORE reading the named users comments. I didn't base my dislike of this thread on anything BUT what OP said. AFTER reading their comments, NO, they weren't "mostly harmless and not an issue". I did my homework on those accts comments. I reported and Blocked them that WERE nasty. STILL, my comments were based entirely upon reading OP's original post.
I'd love to know how many reports the Mods have to weed through that basically are comments on what the reportees call haters, whereas in reality the users DISLIKED whatever it was. Like I said, Kate, limiting freedoms is done incrementally. Will MDL eventually be nothing more than a site where everyone is EXPECTED to think the same way? Will the Mods eventually just ban those who DISLIKE whatever it is to appease the masses; leaving nothing but comments from users who LIKED whatever it is? Will it next be users who curse or users who don't like specific actors or actresses or users who're known for being a 'gay advocate' or those who have expressed their dislike of BL or GL? It always STARTS with one thing, Kate, and here it was bc OP considers even differing opinions (exclude the VILE user comments) as HARM when in fact not all of the comments WERE doing HARM.
I know you through your numerous comments and Feeds contributions. I've ignored some, and didn't Like. I've Liked more. You are, should I say, a colorful user. Yes, I'm assuming, you would absolutely hate to have to think like everyone else or be reported or banned if you don't think like everyone else. I'm not buttering you up. It's just an observation. I don't necessarily like seeing numerous curse words, but NEVER have I reported you or blocked you just bc of the words. I will always advocate for freedom of expression. IF NO HARM has been done then it's no foul.
LucyL:I know you through your numerous comments and Feeds contributions. I've ignored some.
Well everyone has already understood that you think you are the master yoda of this site even though you were not elected by anyone, a suggestion go have a life worry about things that really mean something, I don't know why you got hurt by the girl's suggestion that people block these accounts, are you a lawyer for any of them? I believe that everyone here is an adult and can think for themselves whether to block or not, that there are many sexist comments on all the pages of the kdramas is a fact just enter them and check for yourself
Ironic you left out I Liked MORE of Kate's posts and comments. LOL
SweetCat:go have a life worry about things that really mean something
I do have a life. Thank you for the unneeded idea as my plate is full. There are many topics I'm passionate about. The extra "that really mean something" seems you aren't passionate about the freedom of speech/expression, sadly.

for the freedom of expression in the USA that allows ppl to be racist towards other people, no I'm not really passionate about that in my country freedom of expression is in the Federal Constitution, but there are limits we can't go around offending people or defending genocidal regimes

Yes, many citizens of the US have used the privilege of the First Amendment of our Constitution as leeway for their perverted racism. and bigotry. It's disgusting behavior and I don't tolerate it in my proximity. The First also doesn't give the right to citizens for 6 or so types of speech. The core value of the First gives everyone the right to speak. As it's said, If you take away their voice, mine might be next.

As a fellow American, no one is taking away anyone's right to speech here. You are free to block, or not, ignore, or not, push back or not. No one is forcing behavior on anyone else.
Don't forget the 1st Amendment also gives the freedom FROM speech, not just the freedom OF speech.
I find it perplexing that you seem to be more pressed about this thread than the comments that I see every day on here that can be truly disgusting.
Whoa there. The subject of this thread was null & void 5 hours ago. I see a notification, I check a notification. I might, or not, answer a notification. The previous user addressed the US and our First Amendment, so I answered.
Popcxqueen, multitasking. It's called multitasking. I have supper on the stove, sorting laundry, 6 tabs open (to the news, a social media site, 2 Blogs, a drama I'm currently watching, scrolling Feeds once 'n awhile... ). Why are YOU still on this thread? Did you get a notification? Did you check it? Why did you answer it when we have freedom FROM speech?
SweetCat:NÃO IMPORTA QUEM SEJA, pode ser a coreana Meryl Streep e alguém dirá que ela não está no mesmo nível do ator
