My favorite drama’s that are a true inspiration.

1. Jewel in the Palace
Korean Drama - 2003, 54 episodes
My all time favorite drama, even though an old one, it was full of wisdom and encouragement. Just like saimdang, this story is filled with historical elements. From the characters, the setting to the story, it all fits perfectly.
Jewel in the palace contains beautiful and sad moment, with lots of lessons to be learned. Some scenes were repetitive, and some of the acting too. However, the large amount of episodes won’t be a problem. It is a gem!

2. The Legend of the Blue Sea
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
My second favorite drama of all that I’ve watched. This one was precious to my heart. It was warm, sweet-hearted, and funny. It had sad moments, and moments where you could relate very well, despite it’s fantasy atmosphere. The romantic plot is beautiful and it leaves room for imagination till the end. There were many possibilities and was not necessarily predictable. Loved the main characters and the side characters made it complete. It shows how love can be more simple than we humans often make it but also in some aspects hard, and it takes work and sacrifice for eachother. It shows next to the romance other sides of love as well, like friendship and family. Loved the female character, made me laugh many times.

3. Happiness
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
Was unique and different from all other zombie- apocalyptic series. Although much less graphic and scary than Kingdom, similarly this drama had an interesting plot that was not all about the horror and zombies. The story was sometimes rushed and conflicting, but instructive. It made me want to be stronger and more selfless. Love the characters, some bad characters are very frustrating, but comical!

4. Saimdang, Light’s Diary
Korean Drama - 2017, 28 episodes
Precious drama, beautiful story! It shows you that how bad the circumstances may be, there is always something you can do to make life better. Believe in yourself regardless of what others say, what you do is more important than how you seem to be.

5. Mother
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
This left me crying from shock, happiness and sadness. So many emotions come over you. Beautiful story and interesting topic. It shows different perspectives of family, and tackles topics like adoption, abandonment, abduction and child abuse. I was in tears for most of the series. Much of the scenes and acting were too graphic and shocking for me, but the ending made up for it. The feeling of what a mother is was well transferred!

6. My Name
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
Liked the music, it fitted well with the mood of the drama. Very intense scenes, could not watch every minute, but it was worth the watch. One of my favorites.
-
7. Kingdom
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
A gore and shockingly scary series where some scenes left me in horror! Could not watch some scenes, but the political and environmental and historical elements did it for me. The shock of the first zombie scenes were exciting to watch, but after a while it was just too much for me. I love the main characters, and them working together. The villains were for real! The actors were amazing. Genius plot, and interesting background of the zombies that makes you want to watch more! I’m am still eagerly waiting for a third season.

8. Jirisan
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Unique and important story topic, and it was beautifully set in the plot. The lead actors are my favorite actors, so it was bound to be one of my favorite drama’s.

9. Birth of a Beauty
Korean Drama - 2014, 21 episodes
Love the couple and the plot idea. Very funny how the evil second leads scheme and act.
-
10. My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho
Korean Drama - 2010, 16 episodes
Funny and sweethearted! Loved the main leads. Had good character development
-
11. The Penthouse: War in Life
Korean Drama - 2020, 21 episodes
Extremely frustrating, but I just kept wanting to watch!only watched it because of one of the main lead lady.
-
12. Vagabond
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
As someone who was intrigued with conspiracies, this was a gem. Loved the twist in the end! Love the main leads!
-
13. You're Beautiful
Korean Drama - 2009, 16 episodes
Very cute! Loved the dynamic of the main couple: serious male vs clumsy female.
-
14. Love in Sadness
Korean Drama - 2019, 40 episodes
Captivating story, very extreme in many ways. Frustrating because the same thing keeps happening, and there seems no way to stop it from happening. The acting was not the greatest that I’ve seen, but the music and story made up for this. Came to love the male lead actor because of this drama. It gave me horrifying feelings sometimesbut cozy warm and save feelings as well, depending on the character and scene. It shows how difficult it can be to escape obsessive and harmful relationships, and how helpless the victim can be.

15. Melting Me Softly
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
They were frozen in time and came back years later while not aging. Great storyline! Loved the main couple and their family members. The psychology professor was comical. And, I find age-gap couples intriguing. We need to have more time-travel themed drama’s, it makes for such a fun story! That their relationship was not easy, made it more valued. Throughout the story it felt that they needed to be together, like you want them to be together, because of all they’ve been through together.

16. Hwarang
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
The humor and lightful moments in this drama gave me warmth inside. Even though the main couple did not fit well together for my taste. I thought the second male lead to match better with the female physician. Many partsof the plot were contradicting what I thought to be the main idea of the series. However, the funny moments between friends and enemies, and the historical atmosphere that has an inch of modern youth flavored in it, were all worth my time. This drama had a special place in my heart.

17. Love Scenery
Chinese Drama - 2021, 31 episodes
Loved it, mainly because i love music topic drama’s. But there aren’t that many that have music topical type series. This one had a couple with a charismatic female and evenly charismatic male. They both had musical talents and other talents and felt equal to eachother. They respected eachother, it was cute. Although, sometimes a bit weird, I loved it.

18. Sisyphus: The Myth
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Left me broken hearted, but it was beautiful nonetheles!Loved the music.

19. Empress Ki
Korean Drama - 2013, 51 episodes
Beautiful drama, rooted for the main female lead, but the ending was discouraging…
