Ossanverse Ranked

One of my most rewatched series ever. So hilarious and iconic and there's not a single miss on Shin Kono's soundrack. 

I absolutely love how they developed Maki’s character in this and the resolution scene in the warehouse lives in my mind rent free. So iconic how they managed to keep it insanely funny while also full on turning into a cinematic action/crime film in the second half.

I think it does what a remake should do by keeping true to the original while also giving its own interpretation. You’ll probably like it if you want more from the romance side but personally I’m more a fan of the fast paced comedy centred style of the original. Have to say I‘m a huge fan of the intro song in this one.

Don’t want to spoil it but the ending felt needed, even if i wouldnt want it for the original storyline. Also love how this casually confirmed the multiverse in Ossan’s Love world, very real of them.

Super funny but obviously quite short and without the polish of the series. Possibly the most insane editing I’ve ever witnessed and I don’t really know how to feel about it. Anyway, so glad this exists, such a trailblazer for its time.

Possibly a bit biased because i felt pretty neutral toward this couple in the series. It felt like a series of skits very loosely tied together by a central conflict. But I have to say as stand alone scenes some of them reallly hit. Kurosawa as Yoda, Bruce Lee and Mr Miyagi is something I never knew I needed until watching this. Also Im in love with whoever edited it, the cutoffs at the most dramatic moments were hysterical every time.
