2022 Watchlist
This list contains the shows that I completed in 2022, though may have been started prior to 2022. I will include a brief review of each one. These are my own opinions and might differ from yours.
-
1. Hanazakari no Kimitachi e
Japanese Drama - 2007, 12 episodes
I really enjoyed the Korean version of this drama so I was excited to see this version. I really like the FL's reason for wanting to help the ML better in this version than the Korean version. And I liked the chemistry between the ML, FL, and 2ML. However there is an extremely high cringe factor in this version and a lot of silliness that is really hard for me to deal with. So I ff a lot of that. Overall though, I very much enjoyed it.

2. To the Beautiful You
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
REWATCH: This was one of my earliest Kdramas and I still like going back to rewatch it from time to time. Minho is amazing as the lead and the other actors/actresses also do a wonderful job. There are characters that I don't like, but that is normal for any drama. Overall, it's still one of my faves to watch and rewatch.
-
3. The Man's Voice
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
Ok...the concept is fun. The relationship between the FL and the cat was a bit hard to watch at first, but it got better....basically once she quit trying to get people to believe her and just dealt with being able to chat with a cat, it was fine. Took a bit long to get to that point for me though. The ML and FL are great together. I enjoyed their scenes a lot. BUT...
SPOILER ALERTThe 2nd FL character was one I could have totally done without and to be honest I ff through most of the drama that she was a part of. I also skipped the enormous amount of time that the FL and ML are sad about not being together. For me, this drama would have been close to a 9.5 if they had just left out the entire 2FL storyline and let the leads be together. It's such a short drama that it was unfortunate that so much of it was them in the midst of a misunderstanding. That is why I gave it such a low score.

4. Ateez Treasure Film
Korean TV Show - 2019, 7 episodes
I love these kind of variety shows. I've only recently really started following ATEEZ and they have quickly become favorites. Seeing them in this program was a lot of fun and helped me get to know the members better.
-
5. ATEEZ Fever Road
Korean TV Show - 2020, 8 episodes
This was such a fun idea for a variety set up. The Jumanji look and sounds were very cool. I really enjoyed it.
-
6. Love Is Science?
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 18 episodes
I'm conflicted about this drama. There were parts I really liked and parts I didn't. My favorite couple on the show was the couple in their 40's who connected even though the computer had them as incompatible. They were so fun to watch, but they had very little screen time. They were adorable and I wanted to see more of them. I liked the ML and FL couple as well, but I didn't really like how the show ended for them. Don't get me wrong, it's a happy ending, but it just feels like it's incomplete to me. At 18 episodes it was fairly long, but it still felt like they had more story that needed finished for the main leads. I wish they had shown less of other character plots and more of those two couples.

7. Fandom Tour
Korean TV Show - 2020, 16 episodes
Such a fun show. Each group showed off places that were special to them in some way and encouraged fans to visit as well. There are several places I wrote down to try to visit when I go back to South Korea.
-
8. Introverted Boss
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Such a cute drama. I really enjoyed it. I loved the way the two leads played off each other and how they were just so well suited. The side characters were great as well. I don't think I fast forwarded hardly at all in this drama, which is super RARE, so that says a lot.
-
9. Woof & Meow – Do you Love Me?
Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
This was a cute mini drama. It was fun seeing Cha Hun in a drama and he did a good job. The whole cast was fun to watch. And the dating coach was a hoot...but actually gave good advice so that was a fun aspect too.
-
10. Two Kids Room+1
Korean TV Show - 2020, 8 episodes
I really enjoy these type of shows where you can learn more about the members of the group. Very fun!
-
11. One Kids Room
Korean TV Show - 2019, 9 episodes
This is a fun series too. It's a good way to learn about the members and see their personalities.
-
12. Two Kids Room
Korean TV Show - 2018, 10 episodes
Watching this series from the beginning is helping me learn the members so much. It's so fun!
-
13. Two Kids Room Season 2
Korean TV Show - 2018, 10 episodes
This series continues to brighten my day. Just cute.
-
14. Vincenzo
Korean Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
I did not enjoy this drama. The rating is only this high because the acting was indeed amazing. I wrote a full review on the show page if you want to know more.
-
15. Two Kids Room Season 3
Korean TV Show - 2019, 10 episodes
These are just so fun and make learning about the member so much easier that other types of variety shows.
-
16. Two Kids Room Season 4
Korean TV Show - 2019, 10 episodes
I'm so enjoying these.
-
17. Two Kids Room Season 5
Korean TV Show - 2019, 9 episodes
Such a fun way to learn the personalities of the Stray Kids Members.
-
18. Heart Kids Room
Korean TV Show - 2020, 8 episodes
This was fun as they group answered questions for each other. Adorable as always.
-
19. Born to Btob
Korean TV Show - 2022, 12 episodes
I have mixed feeling about this series. I love the variety format, but not all the segments. I like the games and chatting parts. Not so much the "skits" section and I wish they hadn't been drinking in the last section. I'm not a fan of watching people drink and even though it was fun to watch them singing together and relaxing it was tainted because they were somewhat inebriated...which was annoying. So that's why my rating was lower for this show.
-
20. Two Kids Song
Korean TV Show - 2020, 4 episodes
A unique twist on the Two Kids series. The groups of two had to write a song using the same beats. Very fun.
-
21. Promise Cinderella
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Ok...this was a cute drama, but I found myself fast fowarding toward the end. Not because of the two main leads, but because of the antagonist. She is just such a horror that I didn't want to watch her as much as possible. Even when she is caught it's just...ugh. The actress does a good job, but the character was just frustrating for me...but then I generally don't like the villains in any drama and try to ff through them as much as possible. The FL is supposed to be 27 and the ML is 17 and in high school. However, they do a good job of keeping a line between them so it doesn't have the ick factor that could easily be there.
-
22. Konin Todoke ni Han wo Oshita dake desu ga
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This show was cute. The ML was very different than most you see and was perhaps supposed to have some sort of social disorder (though none is mentioned). He's kind though and learns throughout the show. The FL is interesting and fun. Toward the end of the drama it got a little hard to take with the ML not catching what was going on. And the FL got all odd for a bit too. However it did finally all smooth out well. Would have been better imho if they had had at least one full "happy" episode with the couple though.
-
23. Imitation
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
Such a good drama. A couple characters that annoyed me, but were meant to be that way so it's fine. I loved Loved Loved TEA PARTY's CEO. Best character in the show among a lot of really good characters.
-
24. Welcome to P NATION
Korean TV Show - 2021, 3 episodes
I didn't watch LOUD, but I'm curious about this group. I'm sorry the youngest won't be debuting with them, but it's probably better considering his age. Even so, I hope they all stay close.
-
25. Surprise: The Secret Room
Korean TV Show - 2022, 12 episodes
This show is actually continuing longer than originally planned so I haven't finished it yet, but I'm keeping up with it and it's very interesting. Honestly, the first couple episodes were not as interesting because some of the stories were hearsay rather than actual history, but after that it has gone more into the "truth is stranger than fiction" way of telling stories and that is very interesting.
-
26. Code Name Is ATEEZ
Korean TV Show - 2018, 8 episodes
I continue to fall down the ATEEZ rabbit hole and it's a fun ride. This show followed them just prior to their debut and it was neat to watch them prepare for it.
-
27. ATEEZ 82 Challenge
Korean TV Show - 2020, 8 episodes
More fun missions with the ATEEZ Crew. :-)
-
28. Let Me Be Your Knight
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
SPOILER ALERT!!!
I liked this drama, but I found the ending very unsatisfying and extremely frustrating. I mean, the leads don't actually get together! It's one of those open endings that makes you believe they will, but you don't get to see it and I was so so so annoyed. They stand there in front of each other, super happy to see each other...and that's basically it. I liked the cast and the plot for the most part, but that ending as pretty much rage inducing for me. I mean, it's better than them not being together at all since they've set it up that they would be connected in a way, but that's all I can say for it. Just...ACK! No! WHY? I gave it an 8/10 because of the rest of the cast and the stories connected to them, but I give the ending about a 3.
-
29. Oh! My Boss! Koi wa Bessatsu de
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This is a very cute show. I found myself fast forwarding through parts of it, but not because I didn't enjoy the story. It was because I was impatient to see how certain parts of the story would continue. It's very fun overall and I enjoyed the characters in it.
-
30. Josee
Korean Movie - 2020
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
I do not understand the thinking of writers to separate the leads in a story. Especially like this drama. The leads seems very happy together and you even see that they miss being together and yet for some reason they don't end up together. It's maddening. It's not as anger inducing as sometimes happens to me. I was more like...why? Maybe it's just me, but I think it would have been better for them to stay together rather than part...or at least have there be a real reason that they part. Had he had to leave for a job (he is job hunting in the drama) or they have a big fight or something, it might make more sense. It's just annoying this way.
-
31. Your Playlist
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
Cute drama. VERY VERY short so the story is not very fleshed out. However, it's an easy watch. The leads are sweet together. The ending is a bit lacking, but it's ok given the length of the drama.
-
32. Business Proposal
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Cute drama. I enjoyed watching this one. My main gripe is in the final episode, but it's not awful...just an annoying hiccup in the story. Also I would have preferred it if the characters got married before they slept together. I always find that annoying. Overall though, it was a fun show to watch.
-
33. Playful Kiss YouTube Edition
Korean Special - 2010, 7 episodes
I had looked for this a long time ago because Playful Kiss was the 2nd Kdrama I watched. I had only seen some of it unsubbed before though. I'm glad to finally get to watch it all with subs. I doesn't totally make up for the show not having the 2nd season that it really should in order to tell the full story, but it does help fill in some of the gaps that the series left...at least they are gaps if you have seen other versions.
-
34. Because I Don't Want to Go Home
Korean Special - 2022, 3 episodes
Cute Drama. I enjoyed it even though it's super short.
-
35. 2 Kids Room
Korean TV Show - 2022, 28 episodes
I love these so much. One of my favorite variety concepts.
-
36. Drawing Diary
Korean TV Show - 2022, 9 episodes
Connected to the KQ: Ready for One series. Each episode the members made a drawing from different activities to remember their time in the US Training.
-
37. Ending Again
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Ok. I remember watching this a few weeks ago, but nothing really stands out about it.
-
38. Be My Boyfriend
Korean Drama - 2021, 15 episodes
REWATCH: I really like this drama. It's a continuation of the "Best Mistake" universe, so that's fun too.
-
39. Master in the House
Korean TV Show - 2017, 238 episodes
I love this show so much. I have watched it since the first episode aired and it is still one of my favorite variety shows. I'm looking forward to the next season.
-
40. 2022 Idol Star Athletics Championships Chuseok Special
Korean TV Show - 2022, 3 episodes
Always fun. :-)
-
41. Pumpkin Time
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This show is well acted and easy to watch except for the fact that the main plot is just...well...almost too strange. It is so odd that it makes that "willing suspension of belief" that allows us to be on board with stuff that is a bit unreal...just not possible. I mean, you fall asleep a boy and wake up a girl? Really??? Somehow it's easier to fathom characters switching bodies...which is just as crazy... but somehow this just feels too odd. Especially since there isn't really a satisfactory reason given for the change. I mean...Oops...just doesn't cut it for me.
-
42. Something about 1 Percent
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Rewatch...again. Still my favorite drama. I have to watch it at least once a year. Sometimes more often.
-
43. Kingdom: Legendary War
Korean TV Show - 2021, 10 episodes
Rewatch...again. I have watched and rewatched this show so often. Great performances. Amazing friendships. Just fantastic and fun!
-
44. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Loved this drama so much. So well written and thought provoking, but also very entertaining. Not tons of angst either which was nice. This might end up being my favorite of the year.
-
45. The Sound of Magic
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Let me start off by saying I grew up watching musicals and I love them. This show, however, really missed the mark on a lot of levels for me. There were a lot of holes in the story line that they tried fill in the last episode, but because I didn't have the information given prior to that last episode, the previous episodes were often frustrating and felt very odd. The acting was top notch and the musicality was superb. I just found the storytelling problematic and the ending quite unsatisfying. And for a show that was supposed to be using a lot of magic...that too seemed unsatisfying. So, while I loved the acting, thought the music was beautiful and look forward to seeing the 3 main leads in hopefully lots of other works...this particular show fell pretty flat for me.
-
46. I'm Real Song Joong Ki
Korean TV Show - 2011, 2 episodes
This show is about 10 years old (at the time I watched it). It was so crazy to see Song Joon Ki so very young. He basically just travels around Tokyo eating things and chatting with his crew, but it's a neat way to learn a bit more about him.
-
47. The Player: K-POP Quest
Korean TV Show - 2022, 4 episodes
So cool to see the KQ group keep improving. I'm so looking forward to their debut.
-
48. Wanteez
Korean TV Show - 2022, 40 episodes
Fun overall. There were a couple of the episodes that I liked a bit less than others, but it's always fun to see ATEEZ together. They have fun chemistry.
-
49. Young Actors' Retreat
Korean TV Show - 2022, 8 episodes
None of these dramas were ones that I particularly enjoyed (though I didn't finish the Moonlight one yet, so that one is up in the air, but I liked what I've seen as I recall), but it was so fun to see all the actors/actresses interacting and having fun. I really enjoyed this series.
-
50. Stray Kids Kingdom: Legendary War Behind
Korean TV Show - 2021, 6 episodes
Kingdom: Legendary War is one of my all time favorites, so I like watching all the behind the scenes stuff. I wish more groups showed more unaired stuff from the show. Maybe there is more...I haven't checked all the groups.
-
51. Missing: The Other Side
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
My last drama of 2022 was awesome! I binged most of it and finished it around 11pm on New Year's Eve. It's so good. The characters are interesting and very well acted. I don't remember even one that I found exceedingly annoying and that's a bit thing for me. I'm looking forward to watching season two if I can find it somewhere.
