Recommendations for my purple wifey

There's no order to any of these! Just randomly came up in my head. Even the ratings I gave might not be acurate anymore.

For some reason I started writing comments on every show in this and couldn't stop. I have way more to recommend for specific tastes, so you can always ask me!

  • 2gether

    1. 2gether

    Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes

    7.0

Start of the international thai BL boom during the first covid lockdown. Dude asks popular guy to fake date him to get rid of someone who has a crush on him, what could go wrong?

The actors, BrightWin act well together and the story is interesting enough. The side-couple always made me laugh, and the support characters are deffo background stealers. Didn't get the whole hype, though, but it sure was fun to watch. Must watch the second season as well, because the story doesn't feel finished with just the first.

  • A Tale of Thousand Stars

    2. A Tale of Thousand Stars

    Thai Drama - 2021, 10 episodes

    7.5

From the director of Bad Buddy, was a hit last year.

A rich guy decides to fulfill the wish of someone else and moves to the countryside to teach there, but realizes it isn't as easy as he expected. Luckily the local forest ranger seems willing to help him.

This is the story when you need fluff.

  • Cutie Pie

    3. Cutie Pie

    Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

Story and actors have potential but it might just be a tad too slow, however, we are weak and can't stop watching anyway.

  • He's Coming to Me

    4. He's Coming to Me

    Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes

    7.0

What if a ghost and someone who could see them fell in love? Cute and funny, with a little bit of angst.

Has Ohm (Bad Buddy's Pat) and Singto (SOTUS' Kongpob) as main leads, so a dream team.

  • HIStory3: Trapped

    5. HIStory3: Trapped

    Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes

Police and maffia trope made into a show! What else do you want?

  • I Told Sunset about You

    6. I Told Sunset about You

    Thai Drama - 2020, 5 episodes

    9.0

The cinematography, acting, soundtrack of this! My heart still squeezes whenever I think about it. It's a very emotional ride and I can't rewatch it again for fun, but some of these scenes have a very dear place in my heart.

Childhood friends to rivals back to friends, and eventually lovers.

  • Kieta Hatsukoi

    7. Kieta Hatsukoi

    Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes

Dude tries to help out his female crush who is crushing on a guy, only to get misunderstood and make the guy think he's the one in love with him. Chaos, misunderstanding but mostly a story about falling in love with someone unexpected and embracing the feeling! Based on a shoujobl manga and that's exactly what you can expect from it.

  • Light on Me

    8. Light on Me

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

Awkward teen falls in love with student body president, but somehow gets involved with the vice-president by poking him with a buttplug. That's the most rated scene of this, though. This is so cute and the main leads are just so relatable.

  • Mr. Heart

    9. Mr. Heart

    Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes

Grumpy sportsman and his sunshine teammate.

Or is he really, just a teammate?

  • My Engineer

    10. My Engineer

    Thai Drama - 2020, 14 episodes

Cute story with multiple couples. Nothing too complex. Ram and King stole the show for me, though all the side-couples deserve their own shows!

  • Not Me

    11. Not Me

    Thai Drama - 2021, 14 episodes

Off (Theory of Love's Kai) and Gun (Theory of Love's third) deliver the best chemistry each time. The story is more serious and less focused on the BL at the beginning, but it does deliver towards the end. It's a high-stakes story were love happens to bloom.

It's a diamond in the rough.

  • Semantic Error

    12. Semantic Error

    Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes

Korea is obsessed with this BL and so is my friend (and I lol). Computer engineer meets art student and errors (but mostly sparks) ensue!

  • Sotus

    13. Sotus

    Thai Drama - 2016, 15 episodes

The original BL from GMMTV. Oldie but goodie. <3 Was the staple for a lot of other BL's (though nowadays they're getting more original) but is still relevant to watch for the hazing and SOTUS system.

    Season 2 is good too!

  • TharnType

    14. TharnType

    Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes

    8.5

Skirts the line of dub-con but was my first BL and holds a dear place in my heart. The actors MewGulf have really good chemistry and the NC scenes (non-children) are an example to many. Straight tsundere and gay man are roommates trope. Their relationship starts mostly sexual but quickly grows into something more.

There's a season 2 but it's not good by any means. The special episode (where they marry) is great, though.

  • The Best Story

    15. The Best Story

    Thai Drama - 2021, 3 episodes

Short and exciting story with a bittersweet ending. I love these actors though, YinWar are getting a bigger series soon so it's nice to check them out.

  • The Novelist

    16. The Novelist

    Japanese Drama - 2018, 6 episodes

So much UST and a dictionary for May on Japanese porn words. Because one of the mains writes porn, you see?

  • The Shipper

    17. The Shipper

    Thai Drama - 2020, 12 episodes

This is half a BL and definitally crack, but I loved the friendship between the girls and the guys. Also, Khet is played by Ohm (Bad Buddy's Pat) and his hair is absolutely glorious. I'd advice you to watch it after a couple of other BL's, because it kind of is a parody (though less high as YYY).

  • Theory of Love

    18. Theory of Love

    Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes

Third is in love with his best friend, has been so for ages. One day, he decides to move on, but nothing is as easy at it seems. Love the main leads of this and the side-couples are pretty sweet too! The fact that they're film students makes for so many references and after rewatching the first episode of this show after finishing it, it's even more brilliant.

Has a special episode which is pure fluff!

  • To My Star

    19. To My Star

    Korean Drama - 2021, 9 episodes

The movie is on netflix, it's a nice and simple watch.

  • We Best Love: No. 1 For You

    20. We Best Love: No. 1 For You

    Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes

    8.0

More enemies to lovers but *damn* the delivery of this swept me of my feet. Binge-watched it in one day, rewatched it with my bff, and season 2 was also so goood! The fact it's both Taiwanese and Japanese sold me on this, and the actors SamYu have just the best chemistry.

Also season 2 has one of the best kiss-scenes up to date.

  • Where Your Eyes Linger

    21. Where Your Eyes Linger

    Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes

I wish my judo classes were this erotic -- wait what. Anyway semi-bodyguard and employer trope at your service!

The main lead made my heart go dokidoki when he did aegyo.

  • You're My Sky

    22. You're My Sky

    Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

Unexpected gem in filmopgrahy and every couple's relationship is precious! Though I am glaring at you, mister runner, I am keeping an eye on you.

  • YYY

    23. YYY

    Thai Drama - 2020, 6 episodes

This is crack and it has no rights being this good.

  • Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko

    24. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko

    Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode

He doesn't want to be gay!!! But he's living in a gay world!!! Can he survive as the only straight person in this definitally BL world?

    Spoilers: Season 2 says no.
