Best Makjang/Melodrama
Sometimes all you need to deal with the struggles of a daily routine is to watch something a little guilty pleasure, a little outrageous. I'm a huge fan of makjang! Something about the adult storylines and dramatic plots just feels cathartic. Not to mention a lot of them feature an eventual downfall for the big bad. Another thing I personally love about these types of stories is that most of the characters even the protagonists are more grey than black or white. And I like a good tearjerker melodrama too

1. My Himalayan Embrace
Thai Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
-
2. The Innocent Man
Korean Drama - 2012, 20 episodes
Without a doubt one of my absolute favorites on this list! And I won't lie it's mostly because of the convoluted plot and Song Joon ki's exceptional beauty and his acting especially in sad moments is super convincing.

4. Five Fingers
Korean Drama - 2012, 30 episodes
As makjangs go this one has all the essentials of a tear jerker. Both the main leads provide a good viewing experience but Ji Chang Wook will make you both detest and feel sorry for his character.
