1. The Guardians
Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes
This drama put Kim Young Kwang and Lee Si Young on my radar. Action scenes only get more intense toward the middle of the drama and escalates in the end. Lee Si Young is a total badass here, as part of the team of underdogs fighting for justice to be restored to society. Tidbit: Lee Si Young filmed some action scenes while pregnant
Kim Young Kwang's acting chops were impressive because he pulled off such a complicated role with an intensity that did not fail the viewers.
Also, shoutout to Kim Seul Gi, whom I've always seen in comedic roles / or the FL's bff. In The Guardians, she is a character that's a little dark and vulnerable, but grows stronger from the trials and tribulations she has to overcome.
Certain parts of the drama were a little slow for me, because of the scheming, ohhh the scheming. This drama has all the works - knowing looks, thinly veiled threats, seething underlings, and some people who are a little unhinged. -
2. Mad Dog
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes

3. Tunnel
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Tunnel is a drama that spans several genres - time-traveling, crime, mystery with some action. There is not much hand-to-hand combat, but lots of chasing, altercations, and crime-solving, interspersed with light-hearted comedic moments.
This drama is more bro-mantic than romantic:D and there's lots of camaraderie amongst the main leads. My favorite character is Lee Yoo Young's criminal psychologist character Jae-yi, who may seem weak at first, but underneath her cool demeanour lies a vulnerable yet resilient person. She teams up with the band of detectives to catch a serial killer.
Weaknesses: Our time-traveling detective can be a little simple-minded in the beginning, to the point of it being frustrating. Some might say that he is devoted and persevering, which makes him an endearing and relatable character. Let me know your thoughts! -
