1. Empress Ki
Korean Drama - 2013, 51 episodes
Beautiful Setting and Costumes. Amazing Acting with mesmerizing villians. One of the most beautiful romances that I've watched, (It's pretty embarrassing how obvious the couple I ship is. Not even sorry lol) . And an overall, epic story that was fast in pace and plenty of substance.
The wait between episodes was also torture when it was airing and that in itself speaks volumes about how engaging it was.

2. The Princess's Man
Korean Drama - 2011, 24 episodes
First Sageuk I ever watched and I have been in love with them since. The Princess' Man sets a high standard. Sweeping romance with the right amount of politics that doesn't make you want to skip ahead. Side characters were also really interesting and you actually care about them. Almost like a Korean version of Romeo and Julliet
Breathtaking

3. W
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Loved the concept of this drama and as far as i'm aware the plot seemed pretty original and unique. I haven't quite seen anything like this. Beautiful love story with amazing actors, Great plot twists, action, and a sweet romance.
And LOTS of fantasy.

4. Signal
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Perfect. Just Perfect. Plot, Characters, Everything. I loved this drama.
The only reason it isn't higher on my list is because i'm not a big fan of crime shows and it took me a little longer to watch as I felt the plot was so heavy.

5. She Was Pretty
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
This drama is rom-com gold. I loved the tone and anti-ugly duckling idea. The relationship between the lead male and female really made this drama so perfect. The chemistry was ridiculous. Lots of emotional moments that take you on a rollercoaster ride.

6. Autumn's Concerto
Taiwanese Drama - 2009, 21 episodes
One of the first Taiwanese dramas I ever watched. I remember being swept away with the angst and the romance. There are very few relationships with such an intensity as there is between the leads potrayed in a drama. I cried tears of sadness and joy.
Definitely a classic

7. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
All the Beautiful Men lol. I'm a sucker for time-travel dramas and I enjoyed all the different romances going on in this drama. I also loved the political side of it and the fighting for the throne.
It's also one of the few times I've shipped the lead girl with 2 men. (Wang So and Wang Wook)

8. Secret
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
This drama was heavy. I was borderline addicted to this as it was airing, anxiously awaiting the next episode. Loved the romance, angst and vengeance. The actors for the villians were amazing too, as I absolutely despised them.
This was the first drama that made me LOVE Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum, who is probably now in my top 3 actresses.

9. Angry Mom
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Never expected to love Angry Mom as much as I did. It's a deep and touching story of hardship, corruption, action, politics and most importantly the love a mother has for her daughter. I found it thrilling to the end.
There was a lot in this to keep you entertained. I really enjoyed the action, Kim Hee Sun's character Jo Bang Wool and her well established back story. She was such a fantastic strong female lead and KHS was perfect for this role. I also liked how romance wasn't the centre and focus of the story for a change however, there was a hint of noona romance in it, which is always a bonus for me!

10. Story of Yanxi Palace
Chinese Drama - 2018, 70 episodes

11. Splash Splash LOVE
Korean Special - 2015, 2 episodes
A two episode special dear to my heart. Doo Joon and Seul Gi were perfect together in these roles and i'm still eagerly awaiting there next drama together, whenever it may be.
Splash Splash Love did something really impressive in establishing two great characters and a romance in such a short amount of time when it often takes full length dramas multiple episodes to do that! It's funny, touching and fun to the core. Perfect for when you have a couple of hours to spare.

12. The Eternal Love Season 2
Chinese Drama - 2018, 30 episodes
I'm in love with this couple, the story and the whole world it is set in. Following the first season this is one of those rare occasions in which I prefer the second season over the first. I found it very lovely, creative and entertaining. I loved all of the side characters and was interested in their stories too. The plot could get confusing at times but you are able to eventually follow along.
The lead couple were very believable and more physical then I had expected which was a nice surprise! You can genuinely imagine that they are head over heels, madly in love with one another and are easy to invest in.
It was just a beautiful drama to watch, considering the budget. Bring on Season Three!

13. Kingdom
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
Binged this a couple of days after it came out on Netflix and i'm glad I didn't wait any longer. Amazing.
The scope of the drama is something you would expect in the likes of The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones etc and at times it did give me the vibes of being their Korean baby. It was scary, intense and had me on the edge of my seat at all times. Nail biting stuff. There was enough gory scenes in here to give you nightmares but It wasn't just the whole horror/zombie aspect of Kingdom that was amazing. The palace politics were too. I genuinely routed for the crown prince to overcome his struggles and discover the truth.
It was fantastic seeing all of these characters with mysterious and unknown backgrounds come together and be brought along on this journey, struggling to survive this horror. The season finale was almost cruel in that we have to wait as long as we do to watch what happens next. It took me completely by surprise making me gasp out loud from shock. Can't say enough positives about it.
Now I just need season two already!

14. I Hear Your Voice
Korean Drama - 2013, 18 episodes
I Hear Your Voice has one of the best and most interesting villains out there in my opinion. Jung Woong In played a complex villain in Min Joon Kook. I loved how they invested time into giving him good backstory and motive for how he is. He wasn't just one dimensional and I really appreciate when dramas develop their bad guys. His scenes with Lee Jong Suk were amazing to watch.
Of course. I loved the story and romance between Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young. Their chemistry together was amazing. They brought a lot of lovey scenes and humour to what was a heavy and revenge filled story. Also Noona Romance ????

15. Behind Your Smile
Taiwanese Drama - 2016, 19 episodes

16. Who Are You
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
Three Words.
Second. Lead. Syndrome ???? Every drama fan has been there at some point and this is one of my worst cases.
It feels like Who Are You was a drama quite a few people didn't like, but it couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to me! Admittedly one of the main reasons I loved It as much as I did, was because I was introduced to an amazing actor called Kim Jae Wook who played the handsome and perfect Detective Lee Hyung Joon.
The supernatural aspect of the drama was great, as was the mystery and crime solving but the touching love between Shi On and Hyung Joon is something that I will not get over for a very long time.

17. Extraordinary You
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
-
18. Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
Ji Chang Wook ???? as a Action hero, what's not to love!
I loved all of the mystery, action and suspense in Healer and I especially liked how they handled and connected the past into the mystery and the plot line. The lead couple were relationship goals. Great side characters too. Just a brilliant drama all around.

19. Todome no Kiss
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes

20. Ex-Girlfriend Club
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
Enjoyable light drama. Two friends with a history developing feelings for each other and working to become successful in there careers only to be constantly hit with hilarious drama from all angles by the lead guys ex girlfriends. Said Ex's were funny to watch but I liked that they all had their own personal stories that you could really invest in.
I was all for the love line between my fav girl Song Ji Hyo and Byun Yo Han. They made an adorable pair and I was heart broken at the time when news broke that they had cut the episodes down to twelve due to poor ratings. I could have watched these two all day every day. Still secretly hoping they'll do another together some time!
-
21. Queen In Hyun's Man
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
I LOVE the time travelling troupe so I was always going to love this drama but I remember this one being the first one I had watched where the lead guy travels into the future to meet the lead female.
I think it was done excellently, watching the story unfold as the lead male adjusted to life in the future and falling in love while having to deal with serious issues in the past, travelling between times to do so. It definitely tugged at the heart strings and I loved following along and seeing the main couple fall In love with each other. You could just feel the love radiating off of them and it's no wonder the lead actors went on to date each other in real life after this!

22. Thirty but Seventeen
Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes
A deep and moving drama. My heart raced watching them at times, I laughed at other times and I cried for the rest.
Thirty But Seventeen handled life and it's challenges incredibly well in it's story. Both Leads faced tragic hardships they had to overcome, dealing with personal demons, mourning time lost and I loved watching them grow and learn to move on from the past and make peace with it while finding love along the way.

23. My ID Is Gangnam Beauty
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
I loved how, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, decided to take on such heavy, serious and damaging topics such as bullying, plastic surgery, self hate and the pressures people (especially women) face in society to look 'beautiful'.
I think most women at least at one point in their life could relate to our lead girls insecurities over weight and looks as well as that fear of judgement. It was heart-breaking and sometimes frustrating to watch her struggle to love herself and let herself be loved in return but heart warming to watch her gain confidence and eventually realise that she was the only person standing in her way of happiness.
It's a lovely and sincere drama to watch, with a lot of life lessons to be learned from it.

33. Passionate Love
Korean Drama - 2013, 47 episodes
Against popular opinion, I actually consider this drama a guilty please of mine. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this a lot and have even re-watched it despite what others think of it and how low it has scored. A Hot mess of Makjang goodness, complete with romance and melodrama.
Unlike a lot of others, I actually preferred the second male lead with our leading lady and I loved watching their part in the story unfold as well as her finding out the secrets regarding her tragic past.
Just proves that you can't really judge a drama on someone else's opinion before watching it for yourself!
