If you dont watch this, youll regret it!!!
First cdrama ive watched in loooonnnngggg time with no cliche 3rd party, jealous/evil girlfriend wannabes, etc. Instead, the story is solid and unfolds at a beautiful pace. It had me angry with the hypocritical cultivators who thought it was ethtical to kill under the guise of justice. Wei Wu Xian's character is complex, multi dimensional and it makes the audience empathise with him, even if you dont agree with his actions. This is the first movie ive deen Xiao Zhan and Yibo in, and I'm obsessed. XZ put his heart and soul into the role and it shows. He even lost more weight and looked more gaunt/depressed after being exiled from his sect. Lan Zhan is a loyal friend who always helps WWX even when he doesnt fully agree with him.Although the overt theme of love between the male characters isnt portrayed, i think i love it more with the subtleties, side glances and furtive looks. Sometimes more can be said with less. And this film has portrayed that beautifully between both the main characters. It took me on a rollercoaster of emotions, and i cant wait to finish it but ill also be sad when its done.

No surprises here
No one is recommending you watch this for the plot. It's a predictable romcom but extremely well executed. The pacing was excellent without useless side stories going on for too long. The leads have amazing chemistry and it shows. I particularly enioyed the FL's character as it's so different from the typical female kdrama characters. Her fight scenes are really enjoyable, as well as her straightforward approach to relationships. ML is super good eye candy too. I laughed so much at this show, its a great stressbuster and definitely worth rewatching. Was this review helpful to you?
Easy to watch , 2nd Lead Syndrome
This show is easy to watch, a good bingeable show thats not too complicated. I found myself chuckling out loud at some scenes, the comfort/comedy value is quite high. FL is well portrayed and i personally thought she had more chemistry with 2ML. It wasnt until i came to read the reviews that I realised she was meant to be with the king lol. I guess the fact that a ML is so hung up over his dead wife doesnt sit romantically well with me. Overall a good show, Kim Woo Sok is the star of the show for me, he played the character really well and i really wanted the FL to end up with him. I know most people watching developed 2nd lead syndrome lol .Wont give too much away but overall the show has a happy ending. Was this review helpful to you?
Veteran actors shine in this
Its an underrated slice of life police drama with string of cases which are solved in a few episodes or less. It also shows the growth of different characters in a realistic trajectory. The veteran actors as masters of the younger cadets really steal the show in the drama. As a frontline worker myself i appreciate the arc of personal lives of the police officers, portraying as only human too. Yet society places higher expectations on them which will never change. The annoying characters are shown empathy and you get to see why they are the way they are (doesnt mean you will like them any more). Its a realistic portrayal of life and politics within a frontline service and further enhanced by the excellent acting skills of the veteran actors. Bai Lu and Xu Kai Cheng were believable but probably took a back seat when it came to comparing them with the vets. Was this review helpful to you?
Not a show for the faint-hearted
I'm a nurse and have worked in palliative care so this hits differently. I had to take a break after 10 episodes because i was copping too many feels. Im pretty sure i ugly cried in every single episode (especially the episode with Son's last moments) . I had watched Ji Chang Wook in other shows before but he really came through this time. My heart raced and I tensed up during the conflict scenes. Won Ji An also did a great job, I had never watched her in anything but i couldn't help hating her character. Ill have to watch til the end to give a review on the plot but for now i just wanted to say watch this if you want to watch something deep and meaningful. Skip this if you are looking for something light.PS: Also wanted to add that its not very realistic that Nurse Seo always looks so free/relaxed/energetic during work and had loads of time to workout/volunteer lol.

Leas actors carried the show
Honestly, veteran ML Ji Sung and Kim Min Jung are the powerhouses of this show. Their chemistry and cat and mouse game is palpable with tension of love/hate. I LOVED their morally ambiguous characters, it was a fresh take to the other drama tropes out there. Id seen Kim Min Jung in Mr Sunshine but WOW i think she deserves an award for her portrayal of Chairwoman Jung. Its not an easy role to play with her complex and sometimes contradictory emotions and i think Kim Min Jung portrayed it to a tee. The show could not have done without either actor. Jinyoung did a good job but he's nowhere at the level of these 2 veterans though... maybe with time and experience he'll get there. The story is fast paced and keeps you on your toes. It's set in a dystopian theme so bear thay in mind when watching and dont expect everything to be super realistic. Overall a great show with superb acting, cinematography, OST and satisfying plot. Was this review helpful to you?
Why are there so many negative reviews???
I loved the show, sci fi component and of course Lee Je Hoon's acting was flawless. I felt the pace was good and i eagerly watched every episode without feeling like i wanted to fast forward all the time. The music was great too. Im on episode 13 now so im nearing the end. Hope the ending is a good one. Ive enjoued the show so far, especially the second ML and FL (security vouppe) gave me so many laughs!I think what people were complaining about the ablest views of society isnt unfair after all. Especially the scene where he was unable to do anything after he found out she got hurt, that was heart wrenching. It made me completely understand why he did what he did to her attacker.
Overall i recommend watching this as it had me engaged. I didnt even know of this show despite it being aired 4+ years ago. Glad i found it!

Watching this to save my heart
Im watching Kdrama "If You Wish Upon Me" now and needed to take a break to let my heart heal. So I started this. It's short at 16 episodes, the plot is completely ridiculous but the characters will make you laugh. It's light hearted and doesnt take itself seriously. Uncomplicated and probably a good show to watch if you're depressed/getting over a break up. I havent finished it yet but ill keep watching this til the end. I like that it knows its not a serious show and it doesnt try hard to be what its not.Was this review helpful to you?
Gave up after 5 eps
Sigh. As a noob to Cdramas, i love Xiao Zhan after The Untamed so I decided to check this out. But everything annoyed me from the start. One of them being that Yang zi was trying to act as an 18 year old. Like can we stop please. And also as a medical professional its totally unrealistic to have those doctor patient relationships as portrayed in the show. The father's denial/hesitation at getting medical tests made no sense, like why would you be so selfish and put your family through hell when you already know you are unwell and need treatment? This is 2022 and not 1900s. Argh i just cant, dropped after 5 episodes. Also the trope of the Dr Gu's junior who's in love with him... like thats done to death and super annoying. How disappointing.
