It was good but it could have been amazing

Typical review format.
Lets first talk about what I liked about the drama.

1. The story.
It was cute and understandable. It didnt drag and it made it fun to follow along.
It did have some drama but nothing was super dragged out.

2. PI
I just loved his character and how the actor portrayed him. His acting was funny but also touched my heart many many times.
Perfect casting.

3. The writing style
The dialogues were short and mostly witty. Again it didnt drag for too long and no scene seemed like it was unnecessary.
Also I had to lough out loud a couple of times.

4. The side couple
I loved it and the way it was done. Super cute and adorable. With this couple I have like 0 complaints.

5. Adressing of real problems like the pressure social media gives, the invasion of privacy, peer pressure etc.

6. Nam
Really love the actor and I really liked everything he had to say :) I wish he would get his own story told and maybe with get another show with his officer :)

Alright lets get to the negative points.

1. The way the invasion of privacy was handled.
Now let me first say, towards the middle of the show, I would have added this to the positive side, HOWEVER the last couple episodes changed my mind.
Pi calls out the two who made ship page about him on stalking and invading his privacy ! Rightfully so !
Even after being called out, these two dont stop, they just shift their target to Mork and Bam ( The girl friend of mork )
I thought that they would face some sort of consequence for their behavior but nope nothing of the sort.
Pi even gets told that this is just something he needs to accept when he with Mork, because Mork is just so well liked.
Being well liked and being harassed, having his privacy invaded don't necessarily go together.
However in the end Pi just accepts the stalking and even smiles watching a presentation of photos that he did NOT consent to being taking or shared!!!
Mork also never calls out these two or any other people that keep taking their photos and also makes it seem like it just a problem with Pis low confidence !
While I do think Pi has low confidence, that shouldn't be an excuse on why has to accept being stalked!
This series missed a serious opportunity to speak up against the harassment that people receive but instead they even seemed to support it and pushed all the fault of feeling uncomfortable on Pi just being too insecure about himself !

2. MORK
It pains me to write this but Mork isnt really the kind respectful guy that he his portrayed to be.
a) He doesn't really take anything Pi says seriously and thinks he knows him better than Pi knows himself.
While it might have been true in the show, if a guy constantly told me : I know that you like me, even if I have refused multiple times.... it would creep me out.
b) He never speaks out against the online harassment and even encourages it by giving the two shippers a live interview.
In the last few episodesI started to feel a bit uncomfortable with the character.
Even though Mork continues to say that it is all Pis choice whether to be open about their relationship or not, he continues to put Pi in situations where Pi feels uncomfortable and pressured.
Then he pretends like the only solution to the problem is to be open about their relationship.
The whole ship with Bam was entirely on Mork ! He knew Pi didnt like people talking about him on social media but Mork purposefully let people think he was dating Bam.
Did he not realize how people would react if it came out that he was actually dating Pi!
Why did he again try to use social media to pressure Pi!
Why did he never call out the shippers and told them to stay out of his relationships !
Even after his BEST FRIEND publishes pictures of PI which made him incredibly sad and made him the target of everyone, he is just like OK that fine I guess....
Also the friend clearly Tries to exclude Pi in some scenes and Mork doesnt even notice.
Now that wouldn't have been a problem but the way his character was portrayed in the first half of the show was incredible perceptive.
So happened in the end ? He even sniff kissed her ( again in front of the shippers ) and then pretended in the bathroom like he only stayed silent for Pi!

Btw I love him in the first few episodes, but I do think his character is wrong in some instances ( especially in the last few episodes ) and the show fails to highlight that behavior and instead pushes all the fault to PI.
Almost all the situations in which Pi felt uncomfortable were created by Mork behavior !
Mork behaves in a way ( creating, encouraging the ship with the girl; giving interviews to the shippers; sniff kissing PI in public; Sneaking in his room etc. ) , creates an uncomfortable situation for Pi and then gives Pi exactly one OUT and that is to be public with their relationship.
And whenever he puts effort in to make PI more comfy ( choosing a location far away, taking along his friend etc) its the first thing he points out to Pi as if Pi is supposed to be super grateful and also feel guilty.
Mork says its 100 % Pis choice but he is pretending thats the only choice they have.
He also does nothing about Pis actual problem with the social media and instead again blames PI because he just pays too much attention to it. And the show rewards him for it and agrees with him !

Ah and the ending scene was so cute but also so not befit for Pis character. A public confession surrounded by people, some of which have harassed Pi online. Also of course a photo gets straight up posted.
The shippers even complain that now the ship is real, they have nothing to do anymore.
Why couldn't have Mork confessed and asked IN PRIVATE and let it actually be Pis choice whether to tell people or not.
Realistically speaking this situation would have ended with a panic attack on Pis part!
Btw I do love them as a couple i just really dont like what the show did with them in the last few episodes.

3. The moral of the story
What was the moral ? If you are insecure, dont be ! Get over it!
Because people will always trash talk you!
Bam literally says to be : People are always gone trash talk ( or something similar ). Its like just accept that you get online hate and that you get harassed and your privacy invaded, thats just part of being with Mork.
And stop being insecure even though you have been severely bullied online and offline.
Because the problem lies with you and you need to change your behavior.
The online/offline bullies aren't wrong, you are !
Just endure it !

I loved the morale of the second couple :
Be honest, dont force your partner ever, accept your partner for who he is !

Conclusion :

Its a good show and its fun to watch.
However its a huge missed opportunity for a great show and a real morale.

I won't say much to this, but it is really really really well done.
Since I can't come up with negatives, I won't be using my usual review format.
This series the acting, the music and the story is really well done.
The actions of the characters are relatable and its just so touching.
Especially the dialogue flows really well between our two main characters.
It really hooks one from the first episode to the last.

The setting is also pretty and yes I know the setting is placed in school, but its really not a cliche.
Both actors are really handsome and even if I dont think that should be a deciding criterium, it is really nice to look at.

My recommendation : Watch it :) Support it.

This is my first review, so I'm sorry fir any mistakes in the following.

I actually liked and disliked the drama for a few things.

I liked the acting and i liked the change in the male leads character from a person who couldn't deal with kids and his own feelings to someone who is compassionate and forgiving.
I liked the female lead she didn't give in and endured so much for her nephew. She even gave up her own dream, which isn't such a normal thing to do and she also never stopped believing in the goodness in people.
I liked the second couple in the end a little bit. They were cute. I loved the girl way more than the guy and i felt that the didn't deserved her at all.

HOWEVER ... i can't say i loved this drama because of the male lead and the story. The male lead is a douche and that not just at the beginning. He is so unreasonable till the end. And one thing I cant get over he sexually and physically abused the female lead and after that scene I could never see him in the same light again. Even though he apologizes, it doesn't make up for any of it. He should be locked up in prison for attempted rape and assault.

The story was also a bit dragging but actually it was quite a interesting plot.
Like others have said too much time wasted in other couples who really have no chemistry whatsoever.

So in genreal I recommend this drama to people who don't take these kinds of things (assault, rape, abuse) in dramas too seriously. Otherwise its really hard to sit through it.
