The first part was ok. Filled with lots of fight scenes and intriguing plots. First, the ML's back story, how he ended up with a weak body. All in the name of duty made by his own father.
Then there's ghost boy, a very lethal martial artist. He looks like a menacing boy because he was poisoned somehow when he was about to marry the love of his life. He became a killing beast to all. Until he met the ML who helped him get back to his true self and to his love, but only to die in her arms.
Then came all the unreasonable subplots like
Zhu Yan's tragic life. He was a son of a clan leader who refused to acknowledged him until the very end in name of "duty".
Or the FL's immovable loyalty to her master. She devoted her whole life to help him heal. All be damned, she just want her master to be ok. Again in the name of "duty".
It just feels like everything's redundant.
The title should've been Love in Between Duty or Love in Between Fighting or maybe it should've been just In The Name of Duty.
Just a bunch of girls against a bunch of d!cks. They didn't kill or destroy. They just want to get back what was theirs in the first place; their freedom, self respect, justice for their pain and sufferings. And with the help of theirs friends, they've succeeded.
Actors were ok, OST too so all in all, it's a good watch.
A comedic psychological thriller drama with a bit of budding romance.
A comedic psychological thriller drama with a bit of budding romance.I thought it would gonna be like other shaman based drama, heavy on the paranormal and spooky meter. This one's not. It became evident that the story revolves around the search for justice.
It turns out that the ML was a former cop, framed with a crime he didn't commit. Now he's in search of the real culprit. While our FL is a no none sense, bad @$$ cop, searching for her brothers killer.
I like the actors fresh faces and their on screen chemistry. The acting was not bad, just a bit over exaggerated. The story didn't gave me the high of a roller coaster ride. Instead, it has the feels of a horror train ride at the amusement park. You knew everything's fake, sometimes the props are even laughable.. but it's there, the anticipation of the fun entertaining journey.
The timeline was a bit of a mess/sloppy written but it's still an entertaining comedic drama.
Bromance or RomCom detective drama?
Good looking cast, interesting cases and an OK OST. But..Contemplating really hard, trying not to drop the show as early as the third episode. Mainly because of the FL. Seen her on a few drama, this is the worst.. She's a journalist here, who writes pretty much anything that she wants and to hell with the consequences. Its really annoying and irresponsible..
Also skipped too much, not just fast forwarding scenes but skipping whole episodes and feeling like I haven't missed much. So I guess this one ain't just for me, even though I tried so hard to like it.
I thought this was a promising show, but it turns out to be a waste of time.
I thought this was a promising show. So, even if it did had a very slow phased first few episodes, I decided to push through. The premise is good, the actors were great, so I expected too much. But for a paranormal/horror show, this is not at all that scary.
I think the writers didn't managed to give the show a heart. And I'm not talking about romance, I just don't feel attached to the characters. They die or they don't, I don't care. I just wanted to know the conclusion.
The writers didn't have enough room to maneuver, so it ended at just 12 episodes.
too dark and heavy to be called entertaining with a slow phased first few episodes
My gosh.. too dark and heavy to be called entertaining with a slow phased first few episodes. But it's definitely an eye opener, on how blind faith can be corrupted by greedy corrupt people.Watching this feels like riding a freight train going through a dark tunnel, with no way off but to endure and go through it. While the final episode feels like finally seeing the light.
The story convey a very strong message that even with all the darkness in every turn, there could still be a little beacon hope. Even from strangers you didn't even know.. All you need to do was to ask for help.
Actors were well casted, musical scoring also good. A little romance on side could've made this perfect.
With this kind of genre, it is almost impossible to give a plausible ending
This one is a good watch. I think it is well written. From the first episode up to the last one, the writers managed to keep viewers engaged. It is a very complex story with lots of characters, each provided with well constructed backstory essential to the main plot. Complex but not convoluted.
At first I feared that I would get tired of the loop redundancy and just drop the show midway. But I didn't. I just got a bit tired in behalf of the characters, seeing they lived through the loop over and over again. Without rest, sleep or even food.
With this kind of genre, it is almost impossible to give a plausible ending. And they did manage to do so. Not only did they managed to right the wrong, but they also managed to give everyone a happy ending that they deserved with a bonus love story on the side.
A tale of love that span a thousand years
Loved it. I liked the switch from paranormal traditional drama to modern day paranormal drama. The backstory was so engaging it made me hooked to the show. Their stories and histories are complicated and a bit convoluted. I think that's normal, if you're trying to tell a thousand years of history..
I was on the edge of my seat almost all the time. The show gave me the thrill, the adventure, the mystery, a few laughs, a heart tugging tears and an epic love story.
The last episode almost threw everything to the drain, the only saving grace was the consolation of a happy ending.
There are some plot holes, but are forgivable. Cast were great. OST too, they set tone of the scenes beautifully. And I would very much likely to rewatch the show.
Perfect and casual for easy viewing.
Perfect and casual for easy viewing. It started with the typical Mr. Perfect meets Ms. Almost. Mr. Perfect was an academician, a mathematician to be precised. He was a conservative professor with high IQ and a bit underdeveloped EQ. Ms. Almost was his student. She's the typical girl next door; young, bubbly and pure of heart.
Circumstances brought them together, pushed them into a contractual marriage. They had a bit of understandable rocky start. But they managed to be friends and then finally fall in love.
I love the fact that this drama provided a lot of love all over. With the ML and FL, a love that started of as a casual contractual arrangement. With FL sister and ML childhood friend, a love that's unexpected and most often misunderstood. With the FL's best friends, a love that's taken for granted and almost lost.
And there's also the familial love. How they love ML's grandpa. Then there's the relationship between the two sisters, who have each other's back since childhood.
All in all, this drama may not be an epic love story but it's really really entertaining. It's a story that may not make you cry, but it'll definitely make you smile and your heart sigh.
Fantasy, turned romance, drama, comedy and a bit action scenes towards the end..
Interesting plot. Good actors with great character development. Fantasy, turned romance, drama, comedy and a bit action scenes towards the end. I like this alot. The writers managed to bring along the viewers of the show with the main characters journey. They gave us a glimpse of the typical Overseas Filipino Worker's life, the glitz and glam of cruise ships. The hardships of being abroad, separated from family and friends. The mundane parts of the show.
Then there's magic.. ML and FL meeting again after being separated for so long. The cat and mouse chase, the push and pull courtship between them. Falling in love, heart breaks, forgiveness, acceptance and the whole chacha.
It's a quite a long journey but it's worth it.
TBH I almost dropped this show at around Ep6, glad I didn't.
Mysterious Love is the title of the show. But so far from what I've watched, all I'm getting is a mysterious plot.Story started as the FL still looking for her savior. According to the backstory, he's one of her captors. Very Stockholm syndrome like.
And when they've met again, ML hid his identity and denied everything else. All in the name of protecting her. The only reason he got close to her again, is to retrieve some kind of coin from her. It is something she took from before they've first met. Then he plans to leave her, again, according to ML, is for her own protection.
In the end, he didn't leave her. Apparently, ML really loved her for a long time. He protected her with his life and made her his wife. The major let down of the story would be the big bad evil of the story. It's disappointing to say the least..
Sure the effects used with this show seems really ancient, but the story is really epic.
Production really did make a whole new world with this one. They introduce the human world with very mundane issues, the Mulawin and their virtues, the Diwata from Encantadia with all their mystics.Very good backstory for each main characters giving them a chance to show character development/progression, letting viewers know why they were like that. Thus, making the show really really long. Plus the epic movie conclusion, so have a lot of patience.
Very good ensemble of casts. Good chemistry. They looks good, they act well. Another good thing with this is show is not only its entertainment value, it gives really good message to younger generation which is the market of this show. Like family is more than just blood, and the classic "do not judge the book by its cover" and many more.
2.5/5⭐ is a generous rating for this show..
2.5/5⭐ is a generous rating for this show. Interesting concept not so interesting execution.Actors did good enough but the characters didn't even manage to engage viewers emotion. The ML had no admirable trait except maybe his twisted sense of justice. The FL (if you wish to call her that) is a bit on the dumb side but loved ML unconditonally. The main antagonist of the show turns out to be one of the good guys, but definitely looks like and acts like a total psychopath.
What else? Hmmm.. Still managed to finish the whole series after a lot of skipping here and there. If you're like me who's a sucker for a happy ending, well it's not for you then.
Teens. Angst. Romance. Drafted in a paranormal infested highschool.
Title says it all. If you're looking for something heavy on the scary complex mystery, then this ones not for you.Its about our FL being a young shaman, struggling to accept her birthright then add to the mix teenage angst and sweet first love. A little backstory was also given to cement the plot a little bit.
She met ML at her new school, might be just coincedence or might not be. Her grandma bound them together by responsibility, their love although young and innocent gives them strenght to fight for their friends and for what is right. The ML with the well structured life and FL with an unconventional life of a shaman, stood together to fight evil.
There's still too much the story can explore. I wont mind watching a season 2
I kept on watching only because, I hoped it gets better as the story progresses. It didn't..
The reason I watched this show is because of the female lead. I saw "Sweet First Love" and thought that it would be nice to see her on another setting. The actors did a good job, they tried their best I guess.. Chemistry wise, it was ok.
The big NO for me was the plot of the story. I was annoyed maybe 90% of the time, because of all the lies that seems to be the theme of the story. I kept on watching only because, I hoped it gets better as the story progresses. It didn't..
At beginning, some of the lies were necessary. But for it to continue almost to the end, its just annoyingly predictable and uncreative. FL lied to ML, ML lied to FL. They've been through many challenges, they've even fallen in love.. but the lies just kept on.
So, the rewatch value of this one is almost close to none. It is entertaining enough but at the end of it, you might consider it as a waste of time. Watch at your own risk, thats what I'm trying to say..
