Great first 15 episodes!

Summary: if I have one word to describe the first 15 episodes, I’d say it’s Fast-paced. I’ve watched many historical shows . Usually the first 20 episodes have the best parts then the fillers for other supporting actors are added for them to have their own screen time. Other reviews are right. Watch this for the first 15 episodes and enjoy a fast paced thrilling entertainment. Most parts are originally done , bordering in preposterousness.
Then just fast-ward and look up for main actors scenes. Some words are recycled and repetítive to prolong the scenes. The last 15 episodes are the core of intrigue. It’s the revelation of revenge.

Pro:
-Acting is good. The main actress’ face is usually shot on the side for a reason. She reminds me of the Song of Glory actress, Li Que. this new actress lacks intensity but it’s good to see new faces. The main actor here reminds me a cross between Mark Chao ( the famous Eternal Love (7 mile peach) main actor and the Princess Agents main actor. Great choice!!!! Watching super pastry white effeminate men can be too much. This actor is good though lacks passion.
-original for the first 15 episodes then it takes you to regular palace and war intrigues.
-costumes and designs are good. Of course, the Story of Yanxi Palace with Wu Jin Yan has the best glamorous costume in my head.
Cons:
- missing link. Writers should have included the main lead’s past on screen. Merely telling her story is a bummer.
- lacks depth on the love between the main lead’s first love. It would have added more sizzle. It was rushed and looked like it was filmed in one day.
- chemistry is all acting. You can feel it.
- not much variation in location. If not for the 15 episodes, id be like what is this location. It’s the same old thing.

Light Sweet Tide

Summary: a light sweet ride. Nothing gripping but the show has original cute moments. The mix fantasy and reality is cute especially in the dream parts with good computer graphics. By the 30th, it gets boring because the fantasy is no longer as sweet and drags with too much intrigue that’s obviously prolonged.

Acting is manufactured. I’ve watched the actress many times over that she does blossom on good stories. Her facial expressions become so-so un-enigmatic , predictably so when you have watched her many dramas. She’s still a good actress, but their pairing is alright. They’re both good actors.

Unquestionably bad Chemistry

The storyline with the first 20 episodes is ok, but the most debilitating aspect to this show is the Chemistry.

The main actress is cute in the first few episodes and when she supposedly matured in some scenes, she still has a tendency to look down the ground like a waif.

The main guy is supposedly her master but he doesn’t seem to have ‘that’ presence. Chemistry is hard to manufacture. The screen may show if there is chemistry in the characters.

Cinematography is cool. Acting is plain so-so.

I Tried to like it

Summary: computer graphics is good and the storyline also good. Believe, some storyline are so simple but can catch your attention, like
the drama the Tiger and Rose, also oh my emperor. This Eternal Love Rain is a pain to watch. Lacks the sizzle factors.
Pro:
- good graphics
-good storyline with a mystery feel

Cons:
- main actress does not cut it. Her expression is just not right. She seems more like a serious actress not a naive playful one. Actually she has a villainous look.
- Chemistry is not great
- Main guy seems like a b-actor with futile attempts in portraying emotions.
-low budget production and it shows. Would have been saved by good acting, but not

Refreshing Plot

Overall : I did enjoy the experience because the main characters have A nice chemistry. The plot is just absolutely refreshing because it has original tone to it compared to other shows so there won’t be or should I say less recycled scenes compared to other dramas which has quite a number of cliché same old plot.
It’s been probably three years since I watch this drama and I can absolutely say that looking back I was glad I watched it. It’s one of those classic Comedy what the heck drama that I’ve watch. It reminds me of the 10 miles of blossom peaches wherein you watch the drama and at some point you say what the heck. What a new twist !
Pro:
Good Chemistry
Great Writing. Makes you say What!

It’s an enjoyable ride!

Chemistry Made-up

If you have watched the main actress in All her dramas like I do then you will understand she is a pro like the main guy who also starred in Ashes of Love. The chemistry pales in comparison with the kissing and chemistry in the The Legends (same actress). Their kissing is generic although better than most Chinese drama. It’s very clean and romantic. Overall, it’s a cute live story, but if you have watched many Koreans and Taiwanese drama, then the plot is not really a sizzler.

Pro:
- great acting but same old expressions from their old drama. Not bad although the main guy looks really lame. He looked okey in his other drama and he’s ok. Alright.
- some original plot but nothing unusual. Korean dramas also have the bathroom thrill, office love, etc.

Cons
- chemistry is so-so. Same old acting
-repetitive location.

Mediocre Plot, Mediocre Chemistry Acting

Summary: I’ve seen the main actors in Military Arsenal and I know how they act. If you haven’t watched many costume fantasy story, then you will like it. It’s a spin off of the same old plot from Fuyao, othe school academy theme and hidden identities.
I’m giving up because the main girl cannot project well on screen. No wonder the cover photo shoot for this drama looks odd as well.
Pro:
- the graphics is way better now that in the early 2010-2018.
- story is predictable and ok

Cons:
- if you have seen the cover for the drama, then it does show the non-existent chemistry between the main characters.
- I don’t know if the main girl wants to be like the Sweet Liar drama type of girl or Fuyao/Peach Blossom type. Her facial expression is just so-so. It is not convincing at all. She did project well as a sophisticated rich girl at the Arsenal drama. With this drama, there is just that blank emotion. She was trying though.
- main actor is good.
- supporting roles were mediocre as well. Who casted these?

Same Old , Mediocre Actor

This plot reminds me of Eternal Love 1 & 2 with the main actress having dual identity and same old aloof guy. The difference: Eternal Love has great ratings despite such a low budget looking drama is because it was a delight to watch the actors, while Herbal Doctor it’s just a pain to watch the silly same old girl talking to her inner self and guy with mediocre acting.

Pro:
- predictable and same recycled plot
Cons:
-guy seems to replicate the face of Eternal Love and the girl with same bubbliness of that drama. The feel is almost the same, minus that the main guys nose job is annoyingly too big. The girl is ok, but chemistry. Is just awful.
- so many effeminate Guys. Even the main guy doesn’t seem to be a real guy. It just feels odd. I’m dropping this drama.

Painful to watch

Summary opinion: if you have watched Princess Agents , The Legends (a bit confusing in the end) , Fuyao, Eternal Love, Ashes of Love, then treat yourself to watch this to learn what makes a bad historical drama. Really painful to watch. Eternal Love 1 and 2 seem low budget as well but the acting and plot made some sense. First, the devastating beauty is not . More like Plot devastation. It has a good start with low budget effects, but the chemistry is also wrong. If you watch the girl from Song of Glory , you’ll understand sweetness and good acting into one. This doesn’t deserve my time. I quit after the 2nd episode
