I love this drama for the important life lessons it teaches us...to live for the moment so that you have no regrets and to stop taking our Earth resources for granted and wasting them without thinking about the future.
The cinematography wasn't good but I didn't mind it much either..and anyway the great acting and dialogues make up for it. :)
The only thing I didn't like in the drama was that weird woman Sekiya sensei. She was so irritating and unnecessary..-.- There were many other irritating selfish characters in the drama..but as annoying as they were, I didn't mind them cause they were important in the story, to show how selfish people become at a time of crisis. Sekiya sensei kept just bothering everyone till the end in a very unnecessary way. -.-
The ending was good, got a tad bit confused at some point but anyway I still like it. :)

I like the drama. I really really like it. It's very realistic but also heart breaking and it went in a direction I didn't expect at all.
My sister watched this drama before I did and she was talking about not liking the male lead's acting..but I don't know, I actually like it. :P ? His acting was a wee bit awkward a few times in the first few episodes but I liked it a lot later. Plus I think his awkwardness suited his character.
Hopefully Okada Kenshi will get more drama roles in the future..*-*
I liked how Hijiri's and Akira's characters matured in the span of those 3 years. It made me like them much more. It was wrong of Hijiri to have a thing with a minor while she had a fiance, but I still couldn't help hoping they'd get to be happy together someday. Their love for each other is so pure and honest. *sigh*
Although it's a forbidden love story between an older woman and a younger boy, it wasn't at all creepy or weird. Hijiri didn't get attracted to Akira because he's young. Why she liked him had nothing to do with his age so don't be mistaken and think she's a pedophilie!
And I really like Akira's mother's character. She's exaxtly how a concerned parent would be. Even though Hijiri and Akira were serious about each other, I can understand why she'd want to keep them apart even though it's heartbreaking to watch.
Anyway, overall I loved the drama! Usually I find it a bit awkward to watch older woman/younger man love stories, but this one is really good. Like I said before, it didn't feel weird or creepy at all when watching it. :)
And that theme song suits the drama so well..love it!?
The reason I gave a 5/10 for the watch value is cause I'm not so sure if I can rewatch this again. It's certainly a good drama but not really a cheerful one..

The acting was fine, nothing extraordinary about it. I liked the 70s version Son Ye Jin and Jo Seung Woo's acting better than that of the other actors. Jo In Sung's acting was too robotic though lol.
As for the story...it's good but they focused mainly on the parent's love story. They should have focused on the present-day love story as well. Unlike the past couple, the present-day couple didn't have much chemistry cause they didn't have much reason to fall in love. So their love story wasn't convincing. Plus, with Jo In Sung's robotic acting, some scenes looked kinda cringy.
It's an okay film. It's a shame though, cause it could have been much better if the acting and directing was good.

Regardless of what I actually think about huge age gap relationships (especially with the woman being the older one), this drama has good life lessons plus I think the whole studying process looked very realistic and inspiring. :)♡
Also I appreciate the fact that there was no infidelity or despicable characters in this drama. Although the 3 male leads were love rivals, they were still pretty nice to each other. Especially how Masashi and Yamashita supported Yuri with his studies...it was just sweet. ^-^♡
But I'm still not that pleased with the ending..
So overall, what I liked about the drama:
- The studying process looking realistic. ♡
- Yuri's hair colour *-*
- No despicable characters
- The comedy. The humour throughout the drama made me feel less weird about the age gap and the cousin issue.
What I'm not really fond about this drama:
- The female lead being way older than the male lead and the fact that she's his teacher..
- The female lead being a bit too dense lol
- Masashi being in love with his cousin..o.o He's a sweet guy..but the fact that he's Hiromi's cousin really put me off.
- The fact that it's unrealistic that no one seems to have a problem with Yuri's and Hiromi's age gap and the fact that she is his teacher.
- Also the last episode was kind of cheesy and a bit rushed so I'm not so happy with how it ended.
The main part that I really really liked is Yuri studying to get into Todai. I think everything related to his studying process and how Harumi helped him as a teacher looked realistic and very inspiring! ^-^ ☆♡
So overall, I did enjoy the drama and I think it's kind of a guilty pleasure for me because although I'm not generally fond of age gap relationships, I did sort of ship the leads together..o.o sort of.. I was mostly shipping Hiromi and Yamashita together.

This movie is really hard to rate, in my opinion. Although I found the acting absolutely brilliant, I wasn't happy with the flow of the movie at all. Also the story is just sick sick sick!!!
I can understand the male lead's actions at first cause he wasn't aware...but the ending??!! Gosh that was gross and messed up!! and SICK!!! *goes to a corner and pukes*
This movie was similar in a way to the movie "No Mercy". The whole revenge idea in "Old Boy" was good but I enjoyed the revenge in 'No Mercy' way way better...that movie was just brilliant and haunting...especially the ending!
So what I 100% enjoyed in "Old Boy" was the acting. The whole cast was brilliant, especially Choi Min Shik. I don't think they could have chosen anyone better for that role!

The problem was the pace and the acting. The pace was kind of fast at first but then it gradually slowed down too much, making me feel sleepy when watching certain episodes.
Also I usually like Yutaka's acting, but in this drama he wasn't that good. Yutaka and that older actress lacked facial expressions most of the time.. The rest of the cast was fine. No extraordinary acting from the rest of the cast, but it was good enough to enjoy the story. :)

The storyline was fun till a few episodes after they got together. After that it was kinda dull and the last 2 episodes were completely unnecessary.
I loved the chemistry between the leads and the fact that the male lead was actually charming and not an asshole. :)♡
I didn't care much for the side characters other than Cha Shin Ah + their mother and Hyo Jin ...the others were just meh...like the usual typical boring side characters shown in most K-dramas.
I don't know if anyone else feels the same but I found Deok Mi's outfits and hair in the drama too distracting..o.o not in a good way.. plus the product placement was just so obvious lol..
Kim Jae Wook though..♡
