Rising Feather is a great romance miniseries set in historical times with a well design revenge plot that sends the leading couple into a tug of war while the leading male tries, by all means, to keep the leading lady out of the enemies path while she plunges herself into enemy territory trying to seek revenge against the male lead and a common enemy. There are some twist that keep the viewer interested trying to find out how, with so many misunderstandings, the male lead can keep the leading lady close and safe and, at the same time, allow her to vent her anger and mistrust against him even at the possibility that it will cost him his life. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple did a phenomenal job performing lovers to enemies to lovers again storyline. Li Jiu Lin as the leading male Yun Huan and Xiao Yu as the leading lady Qing Que / Que Er elevated this miniseries to great drama status with their explosive chemistry; whether they were trying to outsmart one another, when they were contentious, and when they were loving and protecting each other. Overall, this is a very good miniseries with good cinematography, great OST, some decent fighting scenes, and a great cat and mouse game between the leading couple. Enjoy it!

Be with you (2017) is probably one of the most tedious romantic melodramas with full of characters that lack consideration for others and are only concerned with themselves while claiming that they love and care for others. In reality, the supposedly least selfish person, the female lead, was the worst character written in a romantic storyline. Although by the end, she did everything to protect the male lead; she put him through needless emotional torture throughout the whole drama, instead of holding on to him and working together once the truth about past misunderstandings unraveled. Parents on this drama were some of the worst, especially in the Yao family, that father had no redeemable qualities. The leading couple seemed to have had great chemistry on the flashbacks but the leading lady’s facial expressions toward the male lead were cold and distant. Overall, this drama is not recommendable.

My Special Girl is a nice drama of the growth, perseverance, and self-discovery of the female lead Hao Liang / A Dai Jie (played by Ireine Song) and the male lead Gu Jiu Li (played by Leon Zhang). The leading couple started their interactions as boss and a student that gets an internship in his company because she fell in love with Gu Jiu Li at first sight. As they star to work and spend time together, Gu Jiu Li finds himself more and more attracted to Hao Liang. Although Gu Jiu Li takes his time to recognize that he has fallen for Hao Liang, he is always concern about her and is ready to lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice; Hao Liang equally reciprocates with help and concern as their feelings developed into a beautiful committed and unwavering love. The leading couple has good chemistry and there are some really funny moments as they navigate their relationship. The drama has a happy ending but it is insipid. Overall, the drama is nice and entertaining, enjoy it!

Pledge of Allegiance is a great dramatic wuxia with some comedy, mystery, intrigue, a nice slight romantic arc that doesn’t interrupt the flow of the main plot, and the greed of certain individuals that brings about the misery and troubled incidents to the main characters in the story. The drama has a stellar cast and, although it is fast paced, one gets to know the characters strengths and weaknesses as they interact and go through a very well developed character growth from beginning to end. The story is really about Li Wu/Fake Li Dong Fa (played by Leon Zhang) and Lu Zheng / Song Zhen (played by Chen Ruo Xuan). The plot on this drama is well written and the cast did a great job bringing their characters to life but the defining force in the drama are the leading men Leon Zhang and Chen Ruo Xuan that did a splendid job in their characterization of two very complex characters that formed a formidable and steadfast friendship even when it seemed they were losing hope and trust on each other. Pang Long Yue (played by Ma Qian Qian) suffers a betrayal and is killed along with her husband. With the knowledge of her past experiences, she manages to outsmart those that hurt her and joins hands with her husband to better themselves. The leading couple was good together but there was no strong romantic chemistry, just a strong and steadfast support for each other and some funny scenes from her comedic antics. It is even surprising that, in such a short time, the drama resolves the business aspects in a satisfactorily way and the lead couple has very good romantic chemistry. The leading lady works for a rival company and keeps that fact from her husband which gives way to the appearance of an antagonist from her company. The leads have met before in their high school days and seemed to have developed a nice friendship on that time. Even though the second leading couple doesn’t have the best romantic development, it is cute to see them together as the drama nears its ending. The drama starts as a marriage of convenience but, during the cohabitation, they gradually fell in love with each other. It also has a very nice ending, enjoy it!

On this second season, the main lead Sheng Nan Fang (played by Bai Hao Yan) wakes up a month later with amnesia after been struck by a van on his failed wedding day to the female lead Su Shao Yan (played by Feng Yi Ran). Although the first part of this season has comical relief, the mistrust and misunderstandings continued even though the male lead has an established affinity with the female lead and instinctively keeps caring for her well-being. Even though this show has corporate betrayal, assassination attempts, and wicked antagonists, the relationship between male and female lead is the core of the story and, as in the first season, the leading couple has great chemistry, steadfast care and love, and a precious little girl that adds fun to the story. This is a nice miniseries to watch while waiting for a great one to come and there is another miniseries (Forever Love-2023) with almost the same plot that is absolutely great so, watch this one first and savor “Forever Love” next. The plot in this revenge drama can’t be taken seriously because the male antagonist (Ma Cheng Jun played by Denny Deng) was a guy with an evil buffoon aura that didn’t play well with the grand scheme. The leading couple was okay but the leading guy didn’t have enough instances to display his bodyguard fighting skills and the leading lady is not great at playing a woman in love. Still, the drama is watchable and entertaining.

“Ready For Love?” is a well done miniseries but the ending was a bit rushed and, although it is clear that Tang Jing Xing (played by He Chang Xi) truly loves Mi Chu Xia (played by Ju Ke Er), the scene at the end between Tang Jing Xing and Mu Huai Jin (played by Wang Ze Lei) seems to be intended to leave an indirect indication of suspense about Jing Xing’s real feelings for Mi Chu Xia hinting that there might be a second season about her real identity. "Love at Second Sight" is a short web drama that had potential but the main leads don’t have good chemistry and for a male lead that is a great catch, the plot really messed with him too many times. The female lead is wrong over and over again and the male lead deserves better. The female lead is not even completely honest with her best friend about the real reason to why she broke up with him and her friend is always barraging him with false accusations that the female lead doesn’t care to correct and portrays herself as the victim. Wang Zu Yi (as Gu Yi Bei, the male lead) is great bringing his character to life and shows a good range of emotions but Shao Yu Qi (as Su Nan, the female lead, lacks proper use of facial expressions and body language. Overall, the drama was not convincing in bringing the leading couple’s relationship to a satisfactory end since the end seems more like a dream.

Although there is certainly a nice, smart, and tender relationship between Ye Qing Lan (played by Qu Meng Ru) and Mu An Cheng (played by Vincent Wei), they don’t get together until the very end of the story, but the audience gets to see them working together to bring the villains to justice. The female lead starts as a nice and lovely girl that is force to become calculative and cold hearted by the antagonists in the story proving that, even though revenge is never sweet, it will sure give the victim a sense of satisfaction knowing that justice was served. The actors did a good job bringing their characters to lie and the leading couple developed a fairly good chemistry within the restrains of plot and length of the drama. Some of the supporting cast were not up to par with their character’s role but they it was not awful as to deter the viewer from enjoying the short drama. The storyline could’ve benefited from several more episodes and lengthier duration but, overall, it is a fast paced and enjoyable watch.
