It was not very good in my opinion
It was decent, fine. The romantic tension was okay, but I felt like it was lacking. The villains were just bad, the one lady was more bark than bite she could literally not do anything and the guy acted like he was asleep the entire time. Neither one of them had any depth or back story. I have no idea why they were doing what they were doing. Side characters were fine, I didn't totally dislike them and at moments I even kind of liked them. I never figured out what was up with the crown princess, did she love the king or did she not? I also have no idea why they kept her ghost alive, like were they trying to drive him crazy enough to abdicate? The last episode was good but a bit drawn out, some things that happened just for dramas sake had zero consequence later on or was resolved very quickly and at the end of it left the thing that happened pointless to the story or character growth. All in all not bad but I've seen better. Was this review helpful to you?
Very intriguing plotline
This was probably the darkest Kdrama I've ever watched thus far. It was very grungy and grey. The premise was intriguing and very realistic. There were no heroes or villains only people. You didn't really like anyone except Seung Ho's character(who you felt bad for) it made for an interesting story since you didn't really have a preference it allowed you to follow the plot in a freer way without bias. Most of it was the tug a war between 3 people and 3 goals. One just wanted to survive, one wanted to do the right thing and the other wanted to clean up his mistakes with money nomatter what. It was a cool dynamic. There was a surprising turning of the tables at the end that was able to resolve the conflict and make sense. The ending was sad but also very realistic. It felt like a cautionary tale about what can happen when you allow yourself to be desperate enough to cross a line and how impossible it is to cross back over once you've gone. Was this review helpful to you?
A purely hopeful and bright rom com
She was pretty was like a breath of fresh air that you didn't except, it was this incredibly adorable, precious correlation of sisterly love, romance, humor and dreams. The love between the main girl and her best friend made me cry multiple times, it was so relatable and beautiful. Side Oppa was flawlessly funny and like a Ray of sunshine that followed the main girl everywhere she went. Main Oppa started out very unlikable but by the end all was forgiven. Main girl was anything in the world but remotely ugly which was one of my 2 critics along with the fact that I wish they would've put side oppa and her BFF together. As far as a character goes Main girl was this energetic ball of determination, selflessness and authenticity. She was a true friend and a true positive spirit who never felt sorry for herself or who let her curly hair, or her mild rosasha and freckles stop her from overcoming adversity. Her hideousness would not prevent her from achieving whatever she set her mind to. The storyline hooked me from episode 1. It was so unique and you were always wondering what was going to happen next. Even when I spent days away from the show whenever I would come back it would be like reuniting with an old friend who filled you with such warmth and happiness you forgot why you'd lost touch. All the characters except maybe 1 had great personalities and purpose and even the little side couple made me swoon way more than I thought I would. It was bright, hopeful and 100% recommendable. Was this review helpful to you?
